I've been in ❤ with Vain from day 1..I love each album celebrates a snippet year of my life.. Where I was.. Who I was with and what or rather who I was doing.. Every album is unique.. Each a gift.. Seen them LIVE and met them❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
One of the greatest bands of all time. You can't go wrong with any of their albums. Davy;s solo album In From Out Of Nowhere is on par with the band stuff too.
I was a teenager during the Bay Area thrash scene back in the 80s, and as a kid, I was super suspicious of anything that wasn’t thrash, but after I heard that Davy produced the Death Angel records, I gave Vain a listen, have loved them ever since. Vain is the real deal.
I remember when I was a kid seeing this long haired hot chick on a bus.. She had Vain in red letters and Aces painted on her black leather jacket.. Four aces cards painted on there too.. I INSTANTLY fell in love with her and I'm a gal❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Lana Lane covered Without You on her Queen of the Ocean album. Back when that came out i didn't know Vain but discovered them many many years later with the music video Who's Watching You. So thats when i decided to get their first album and was surprised to hear Without You on there.
Beat the Bullet! I remember listening to that on cassette screaming down Mulholland Drive with my best friends in my Plymouth muscle car with all windows down on a cool night. I miss those days.
Great video as always. I’m only familiar with the debut album (which I think is killer), but now I’m going to check out everything else they’ve released.
I'd put on the line higher and add the solo album from in from nowhere,i like fade but thats the one on my low part of my list overall its hard to rank them ,the best was no respect and next to a couple poisen and motley crue albums is my favorite glam album counting the music and makeup of what counts has glam
I don’t really like or listen to this hair metal stuff anymore (unless for a nostalgic fix) but will always fondly look back & praise that debut Vain album; was gutted at the time when they got dropped as was eagerly awaiting that second album, though hearing it now I’m not a fan apart from Not Far Away and Love Drug. That debut is a killer though.
Killer video! I absolutely love No Respect, it made the number 4 spot on my top 60 albums of 1989 video, i agree with everything you said about it!! 👏👏👍🤘🤘
Just updated detail missed on 94´ "move on it", it was first releases in Japan were most of the bands of USHardrock get some "refugee" from the Nirvana whirlwind revolution in music. So as I was saying recorded between US and Japan, released in Japan and some tracks have an incredible drum work from the mighty Steven Adler that previously got dropped from GnR (you can see his mark in many songs). Unfortunately he wasn't on the highest of his musical abilities by the time but still...
The first album was my best blind purchase ever. I saw the album cover having never heard of them and was instantly blown away.

Underrated band
VAIN is badass hands down

You are right. One of if not the best bands to come out of the 80’s. Terribly underrated.
VAIN beste Band ever 👏👏
One of my favorite bands from the era
Vain rules!
Where does the new album rank for you Bryce? Great record!
Love every Album I need to hear the Latest one
Where's In From Out Of Nowhere? Incredible album❤.
Vain had the talent and the songs. No Respect is an incredible album.

Their albums are super hard to find and expensive on CD! I have everything except "Enough Rope" and "All Those Strangers". 😎🎸
All Those Strangers is available on their site right now. 🤘
Both are available at Davy’s site.
Try getting Rolling With The Punches on vinyl. Last one I saw was over $100
Great video as always. I’m only familiar with the debut album (which I think is killer), but now I’m going to check out everything else they’ve released.
VAIN band members - would give you high fives - and buy you beers !
Interesting ranking. My personal favorites are move on it, all those strangers and enough rope
BRYCE/ I know she’s super busy but should got SYDNEY/ to help. Lol. She’s into these guys as well. Great stuff as usual BRYCE. Thx for episode 👍💯
A great Bay Area rock band that just never caught that big break! They had a unique hard rock sound.
Great video man
Great episode. Nice to see Vain getting the props they deserve. Every album is outstanding.
Where would you rank Davy’s solo album ?
Davy Vain reminds me of Tracii guns voice . I need to check Rolling with the punches , Enough rope album's
Phil Lewis… yeah maybe a little bit!
@@brycetalksmetal Yeah duh Phil Lewis lol long day :)
There Actually from santa rosa California..paul Taylor from winger worked with Davy on the No Respect album
Great band 👌 seen them support skid row at Newcastle City Hall in 89! Shook his hand, what a gig 👏
One of my favourite bands in this genre. Great video buddy
Vain what a great pick! Each album is great, the Davy Vain solo as well. All Those Strangers is their best.
I got vain 1989 album no respect on CD. 😀👍🤘🎸💿
‘Beat the Bullet’ is one of my favorite songs. Great band.
Really appreciate it man! One of the most unique sounding bands in the genre for sure. Is there any reason why Davy Vain prefers to stay barefoot?
🔥 I gotta check these guys out!

Bryce I’m very late to this video but Move On It is fantastic. Id definitely rank it a lot higher. Maybe even top 2
Oh fuck yes!
Vain decimates.
I'm going to see them at The Whisky in Hardlyweird on October 14.
Tony F. Corpse
(Post Mortem Superstar)
Killer video! I absolutely love No Respect, it made the number 4 spot on my top 60 albums of 1989 video, i agree with everything you said about it!! 👏👏👍🤘🤘

Move on it was released in the UK first, it was the album that got me into vain, I still have the cd and the Japanese version with a different cover
Killer band, they really set themselves apart from the rest of the glam scene lyrically and musically. They should have sold out stadiums
😄👍
I hate Rolling With The Punches, but everything else is great
Another bay area band! Dude! They are still going, just not the same lead guitar player. That's all for now.
No respect
All those Strangers
Enough Rope
Roadcrew
