thanks for the vid. i have a red 2007 myself and its a great bike. 3 years and 30,000 miles with 35,000 total miles and no issues but the kill switch. you are right on all counts about the bike. fast, comfortable, good performance, nice engine, and good two up, too. its been a perfect bike for me in all regards. its a very good bike around town, highway, or for fun. whatever riding circumstance this bike just gets the job done, no fuss
I just bought one 2007 with 4,000 miles on it. Feels very new and I am impressed on how powerful it is. My only complaint is I can feel the hot engine when the traffic is heavy, but guess that happens with every bike. Yamaha should bring it back or put more power on the FZ6R.
Rogelio Sanchez I have had my fz6 for 3 years now and yes it gets hot in traffic cause the fan doesn't cut till 205 f degrees I think but mine has never over 214 f degrees even in 100 f degree summer heat please subscribe I would really appreciate it
My biggest gripe about this bike is the narrow clutch zone. I made it better by replacing the slave lever with one from an fz07. It's about a half inch longer. Other than that these are fantastic bikes. The transmission is clunky, but seem stout enough for the power plant. The exhaust was way too quiet. I use sintered metallic pads on the brakes and they work very well though a bit noisy. Yamaha needs to transplant the R6 motor into a standard again..
Yea Marshall - I have adjusted and lubed the cable, shift linkages, idle speed, etc - and have reduced it as much as I think is possible - but I guess it is rugged enough to handle the banging around town. I too have had worse. Are you on FZ6 Forum?
I have a clunky second gear. I have heard mobil1 motorcycle oil can help solve this problem. I will be using for my next oil change. Where did you get this seat? Stock seat sucks for me , keeps pushing me into the tank.
Just got an Blue one. 2008 FZ6. Like new. So far it's been as great as bikers said. It reminds me of my 78 KZ650 on steroids. I hope it's as good as SuperScootDude has described his. Being older and a Harley guy, I need to find a radio and cruise. ps; Marshall, you should list the Mods in your description.
@@itchycroe411 o ok I understand now. We have pretty clean roads here where I live at now. But I do try to avoid the center of the lane sometimes but it's a bad habit that I need to get out of now. Thank you for watching and for subscribing I really appreciate it.

I just bought a 2006 today I live near Bristol Tennessee
My biggest complaint on my '07 FZ6 is the clunky transmission. Also , at 6'1" I feel like I am slightly long for this frame but still love it.
timber_beast I agree transmission is clunky but I have ridden worse transmission on a motorcycle

Some people say the engine is very weak, but in the videos it seems very fast.
Yes its pretty fast engine makes about 100 hp
it is an awesome ride
does the 2007 version have abs?
Nope.
There is an ABS version, but it’s not standard.
Fz6 abit too quiet stock, I like little more grunt
Am I the only one who avoids the center?
Huh I'm lost sorry?
Marshall 3498 I’m sorry the center of the lane.makes my butthole pucker when people ride on it lol or am overly cautious?
