I can’t thank you enough for this video. The hair and dust accumulation at the top of the bin was driving me crazy. No amount of shaking would dislodge it. Being able to completely remove the bin is great, even if I don’t wash it, just wipe it out. Now, if Dyson would just change the trigger method of turning on the machine so I don’t accidentally turn it on and don’t have to hold the trigger while vacuuming…
I also found the trigger mechanism a little difficult to get used to but now I am used to it. If I want to stop for a minute to move something, it stops automatically without me having to switch it off: I pick it up and it goes again.
Incredible video. I’ve owned my Dyson 11 Torque for about two years and never cleaned it this thoroughly. I appreciate you putting out this video. Thank you.
Thank you so much. I had a large plastic object trapped in the upper half of the dust bin. Came here to find out how to remove the bin and ended up giving my V11 a clean up. Thanks again for informative video.
When screwing a metal screw into plastic screw hole, carefully and gently go counter-clockwise until you feeling a little bump to find where the thread starts in the plastic screw hole, then turn clockwise to be sure the metal threads find the plastic threads correctly. If you put in the meal screw and just start screwing the screw into the hole to tighten, you may ruin the plastic threads and mess it up.
I just wanted to say thank you for this video. I was apprehensive taking apart my V11 and whilst I didn’t take it fully to pieces with screwdrivers, I did rather confidently give it a good clean. Thank you.
This is the best dyson v11 cleaning video, my v11 is making a loud squeaking noise coming from inside the machine i think its a choclate wrapper stuck inside somewhere i was going to open it since youve made excellent detailed video but my dad reminded me it has a warranty so i wont void it 😂 i searched all over the internet ur video is the best mate keep it up
Revisited this very informative video after having our V11 nearly 2 years. The beginning reminded me that I had not cleaned the brush head for a long time. The far end of the head on mine (that you can see with the brush roller removed), had a groove full of compacted fluff, which I removed with tweezers and a cable tie shaped to push the back of it to the front of the groove, to remove the rest of it with the tweezers. This groove seems to be a dust/fluff trap!
Thank you so much for this video! I love my dyson V11 and know I need to keep it clean, but every time I begin to take it apart, even the provided directions on the outer case become confusing. Your video was very detailed and gave me the confidence to take the vac apart and put it back together again. Thanx for your help; you're GREAT!
Thanks for this clear instruction on how to clean. I kept getting a filter/obstruction fault and followed Dyson instruction to no avail. After following your video I now have a fully functional cleaner. Many thanks.
Thank you for taking the time to put together this video. Just got my Dyson today, and the manual was not helpful at all. I was panicking when I saw all the dust stuck to the canister after emptying. Luckily, I found your video. Now I know it can be removed and cleaned properly.
Thank You. I’ve now managed to actually give my vacuum a proper clean. I used a dry, old, toothbrush to get to the really fiddly parts. I was nervous, as this was a £600 vacuum. But thanks to you, it now has a better chance to last longer.
So very informative. You were so precise about all aspects of cleaning my V11 Absolute. I absolutely love this vacuum cleaner. Dyson should include your site for all new sales. Thank you so much.
No thank you for the valuable information. You're so thorough. I cleaned it just the way you demonstrated and it was a piece of cake....I'm so thrilled!!
Thank you so much! This helps a lot! My first time to get a Dyson, and I believe proper maintenance and use is the key to keeping the machine in tip-top shape for longer.
Thanks for the video. It certainly added to my knowledge of the V11. I usually use a leaf blower and blow out the whole unit. It’s very messy and you need an open area but it saves waiting for filters to dry and seems to do a good job of cleaning the unit. I will add your method to my cleaning routine. Thanks
Good video but 2 things: 1) before taking the vacuum mechanical parts apart, always remove the power source (the battery) until the work is done to reduce your chance of getting shocked. 2) cleaning it this thoroughly would also void the warranty, but If you’ve had it longer than the warranty covers then go ahead I just ordered the v11 and I will save this video for when it’s time to deep clean, thanks!
禄Abby deep cleaning the dyson is encouraged only when necessary. Dyson do have videos on how to correctly and safely disassemble and clean each part so I don’t think it would void the warranty unless you of your own volition break it. As long as it’s a default on their end or sudden break down of the equipment then it’s covered under the warranty.
If you bought this device online, explanations on how to clean it in detail is very low.. but if you bought it in a store, the sellers should know how to bring it apart for cleaning purposes :)
Great video. Clear and concise instructions. I can't believe people actually complained about the dust left on the paper while you were working! On second thoughts maybe I can.
Thank you very much for these tips and tricks and spoken in such a lovely voice. I’m from Western Canada so UK accents are not as common here but always a pleasure to listen too. Im certain I watched another demo that when you cleaned the filter you were to try as best you could to close of one end and fill and shake with water and repeat until the water ran clear. Is this ok IYHO?
Thank you so very much! I have been searching for a video to properly get into the motorhead for two days and a friend came upon your video and sent it to me. I have a clog that apparently I cannot find and so my Dyson just keeps pulsating. Since this isn’t covered by Dyson I had to get it figured out. Your video is excellent and I really appreciate it!
Loved watching and listening. You are so calm. I'll probably have video running while I'm working on this. Every time is an adventure. Amazing calm and patients you have!!
Before I found this video I took off the front metal screen section and just used high-powered compressed air to blow out all of the built-up dust and debris inside. It made quite a mess out in the driveway but afterwards the vacuum was quite clean inside! Next time I need to clean it I'll know I can take off the cyclone chamber and how to do so so I can properly clean it in warm water! Thanks for the video!!
Looking at the name of the poster and after seeing this amazing video I concluded that he must be the Lord of the ring of Vacuum cleaners :-D. I could not even open the canister without this video. I will not be doing much of deep cleaning for quite a while.
26:17 first let me say thank you for being nice and slow on explanations, second although I love my Dyson after watching this i miss my V8 and V6 because it had a lot less screws and much simpler to clean, also because these are not normal screws and you have to get these torque/butterfly (what I call these😊) screws. I’ve had 3 dogs at all times for last 25 yrs. So that should explain it😅. The V6 lasted exactly 5 yrs. Just as the warranty expired, the V8 not as long, when the battery went out I just replaced, the motor went out, I replaced it myself, then it gave out in abt. A month later ordered a new one and didn’t work, called Dyson in the area and was told it would be about 99.00 to look at it, 😮seriously. So I said screw it for another 200 I got it at Costco , I asked for the V11 for Christmas from my husband, I know a vacuum, yes I did. I bought all the other stuff I wanted myself it just felt better that way,😂. So all in all I love My Dysons of course I wish they were a little less expensive, however still not happy about all the screws on this one as with 3 dogs I have to clean more often. Do not tell me to get rid of my dogs, not happening for those of you ready to comment on that😅. I’m not lazy just very impatient. Happy cleaning to all.

As good as the Dyson vacuums are, they are not good at fine dust like drywall and brick dust. I know your feeling as we had some building work done recently and trying to vacuum with the dyson was pointless as the filter kept clogging up.

Cleaning videos for stuff (cars, motorcycles, vacuums etc.) thats already clean are really annoying. With that said this one was still helpful since it showed how to take stuff apart and helped me clean my vacuum. Thanks.
Thanks for posting this. Just bought one of these and was disappointed to find that there is no instructions included with the vacuum on how to maintain it. Not even anything about cleaning the filter!

Love this vacuum. I vacuum more, not sure why, maybe seeing the dirt in the canister is motivation. Thanks for the great video, tips were great. I cleaned my vacuum in the kitchen, so what. I can clean up after myself, after all people also clean up after preparing chicken and other foods that necessitate a good cleaning.
I stupidly tried to vacuum up some very fine powder that was part of my daughter's rock tumbling kit. We'll see tomorrow when the filter is entirely dry but I'm hoping this video saved me from buying a new vacuum when this one is less than 4 months old!
So far so good with this vacuum. th-cam.com/users/postUgkx8ISPQRRAfpAaX4msGjyodObTBnlj4T5g I was a little concerned to find it seems to be all plastic, but the reviews were good, so I'm hoping for the best. Very easy to assemble Recommened, and only attachments I've used so far work well, and are easy to use. Doing a good job on the new carpet in my bedrooms and stairs. Works well on the hardwood on my main floor too. Reasonable weight and cord length. I already knew from an earlier review that it wouldn't fit under furniture, but I can use my Eufy for that, so no problem - the high traffic areas that need a stronger suction was really what I bought this for. If it continues as it's started, it will be a good buy and well worth the money. I have had two Shark Rocket stick vacs in the past that are super easy to use, but the motors just don't last well, even with scrupulous cleaning of the filters. I'm hoping for better with this Bissell.
Thank you SO much for this video! So clear and thorough and it made my vacuum work so much better. You did an amazing job and made my life so much easier. :)
There are very clear diagrams on the filter which shows that you should not be washing it as he demonstrates. You should run the water down the inside of the filter, and allow the water to spill out through the vents in the purple plastic part. Then you should allow it to air dry for at least 24 hours.
Thank you! Awesome job! Mine’s new from last month so I won’t do all that you did, but perhaps in the future! Dyson did send me really good well done videos on how to clean however, unable to find them now! Thank you!
It has happened on our demo unit and the best way i found was to push the bin up back into position then try and pull the handle down. It can be a bit stiff if it is full or needs cleaning around the flap. Good luck.
Just cleaned my AEG and i wanted to know how much easier a Dyson will be to clean. Well, i was wrong, in terms of "easier". While the tank of the AEG QX9 is way smaller than in the Dysons, it's way easier to clean the AEG. I'm glad i bought it instead of a Dyson.
I love how polite and kind this man is but also love that he wears a buttoned dress shirt the entire time to clean out a dirty vacuum cleaner. Just something about that makes me smile

I think the presenter says this near the beginning- that Dyson doesn’t recommend washing it. I find a damp cloth quite sufficient.

@9:15 this is exactly what I did when I bought this. excellent idea. I had to order direct from Dyson so as to make sure the part was genuine.

No problem, glad it was helpful for you.
I wash my used Swiffer cloths and use them to clean the Dyson. Works really well and doesn't put dust in the air I wipe down all the parts this way.
Wonderful. Thanks a lot !!... You seem to be nervous but you don't have to, you are really good and your video is as clean as your Dyson 👍👏

There are very clear diagrams on the filter which shows that you should not be washing it as he demonstrates. You should run the water down the inside of the filter, and allow the water to spill out through the vents in the purple plastic part. Then you should allow it to air dry for at least 24 hours.
Very helpful in many respects...great presentation... What a nice man .....
Thank you for the feedback
Dyson should endorse you, excellent demonstration video! (As with all your Dyson videos) 😊
Would be nice, but i doubt that would ever happen. Thanks for the great feedback
@@lords-electrical Never say never I say! 🤞🏾
Very useful I didn’t know that the bins come off fully. It was worth watching this video as daddy’s on Manual is not helpful at all.

Thank you! Awesome job! Mine’s new from last month so I won’t do all that you did, but perhaps in the future! Dyson did send me really good well done videos on how to clean however, unable to find them now! Thank you!
Many thanks, so helpful but now I need a nap. 👍
😴
Brilliant video! Helped me a lot. I have a question...the dirt bin is stuck, can't get it out! Any tips
It has happened on our demo unit and the best way i found was to push the bin up back into position then try and pull the handle down. It can be a bit stiff if it is full or needs cleaning around the flap. Good luck.
Best video ever thank you so much I took so much dirt out my vacuum thank you for sharing with us this amazing videos
PERFECT TUTORIAL, THANKS!
thank you very much mate i just fixed my broken dyson A++++++++
Excellent ! wish I had of found this video before I attempted to clean mine !!
Jolly good old chap, I must say very informative! Cheery O mate!
