    I love how polite and kind this man is but also love that he wears a buttoned dress shirt the entire time to clean out a dirty vacuum cleaner. Just something about that makes me smile

    I can’t thank you enough for this video. The hair and dust accumulation at the top of the bin was driving me crazy. No amount of shaking would dislodge it. Being able to completely remove the bin is great, even if I don’t wash it, just wipe it out. Now, if Dyson would just change the trigger method of turning on the machine so I don’t accidentally turn it on and don’t have to hold the trigger while vacuuming…

    • @janiceangwin5921
      @janiceangwin5921 8 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I also found the trigger mechanism a little difficult to get used to but now I am used to it. If I want to stop for a minute to move something, it stops automatically without me having to switch it off: I pick it up and it goes again.

    • @dale3404

      An update: Dyson doesn’t recommend washing the bin. Just give it a brush and wipe with a damp cloth.

    When screwing a metal screw into plastic screw hole, carefully and gently go counter-clockwise until you feeling a little bump to find where the thread starts in the plastic screw hole, then turn clockwise to be sure the metal threads find the plastic threads correctly. If you put in the meal screw and just start screwing the screw into the hole to tighten, you may ruin the plastic threads and mess it up.

    Revisited this very informative video after having our V11 nearly 2 years. The beginning reminded me that I had not cleaned the brush head for a long time. The far end of the head on mine (that you can see with the brush roller removed), had a groove full of compacted fluff, which I removed with tweezers and a cable tie shaped to push the back of it to the front of the groove, to remove the rest of it with the tweezers. This groove seems to be a dust/fluff trap!

    Thanks for the video. It certainly added to my knowledge of the V11. I usually use a leaf blower and blow out the whole unit. It’s very messy and you need an open area but it saves waiting for filters to dry and seems to do a good job of cleaning the unit. I will add your method to my cleaning routine. Thanks

  • @L1ttlef0ot
    @L1ttlef0ot 4 ปีที่แล้ว +6

    Good video but 2 things:
    1) before taking the vacuum mechanical parts apart, always remove the power source (the battery) until the work is done to reduce your chance of getting shocked.
    2) cleaning it this thoroughly would also void the warranty, but If you’ve had it longer than the warranty covers then go ahead
    I just ordered the v11 and I will save this video for when it’s time to deep clean, thanks!

    • @lotusbeekey
      @lotusbeekey 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      禄Abby deep cleaning the dyson is encouraged only when necessary. Dyson do have videos on how to correctly and safely disassemble and clean each part so I don’t think it would void the warranty unless you of your own volition break it. As long as it’s a default on their end or sudden break down of the equipment then it’s covered under the warranty.

It made quite a mess out in the driveway but afterwards the vacuum was quite clean inside! 26:17 first let me say thank you for being nice and slow on explanations, second although I love my Dyson after watching this i miss my V8 and V6 because it had a lot less screws and much simpler to clean, also because these are not normal screws and you have to get these torque/butterfly (what I call these😊) screws. Yes this is my third Dyson broom, and also have the canister that was the first purchase about 20 yrs ago and still working which now days only used for bigger jobs. Wondering why on my third? I’ve had 3 dogs at all times for last 25 yrs. So that should explain it😅. The V6 lasted exactly 5 yrs. Just as the warranty expired, the V8 not as long, when the battery went out I just replaced, the motor went out, I replaced it myself, then it gave out in abt. A month later ordered a new one and didn’t work, called Dyson in the area and was told it would be about 99.00 to look at it, 😮seriously. So I said screw it for another 200 I got it at Costco , I asked for the V11 for Christmas from my husband, I know a vacuum, yes I did. I bought all the other stuff I wanted myself it just felt better that way,😂. So all in all I love My Dysons of course I wish they were a little less expensive, however still not happy about all the screws on this one as with 3 dogs I have to clean more often. Do not tell me to get rid of my dogs, not happening for those of you ready to comment on that😅. I’m not lazy just very impatient. Happy cleaning to all.

    The brush-heads (the rolling cylinder) you can take out and clean in water with soap! It even says so in the instructional manual!
    For the wastebucket: It says to clean it with water.
    For the vacumpistol: On the side you have a «big hole» thats the hole that dumps your dirt in the wastebucket. You can clean with holding it under your tap while pointing it downwards.
    You can even clean the metal mashing with holding it under the tap.
    Otherwise good video if you want to go full vacum mechanic as this guy 👍

      As good as the Dyson vacuums are, they are not good at fine dust like drywall and brick dust. I know your feeling as we had some building work done recently and trying to vacuum with the dyson was pointless as the filter kept clogging up.

    Awesome video, I didn't know the bin could come off and was going to use long screwdrivers to try and clean a blockage, this video has actually made me like the Hoover even more, knowing how easy it is to strip down makes it a much better product for me, I thought cleaning would be a nightmare with how compact everything is, but it's much easier knowing how to remove parts to gain access to others 👍😀

    it's funny how the market around world functions. So in Croatia, in our field you get Dyson's from V10 to V12 with removable battery. You don't have to unscrew it, it is manufactured like that to be easily removed. And then, I have my family who lives in Germany and their market is the same as yours : No removable battery. But it's a lovely thing to know that evrything is different in the world.

    So far so good with this vacuum. th-cam.com/users/postUgkx8ISPQRRAfpAaX4msGjyodObTBnlj4T5g I was a little concerned to find it seems to be all plastic, but the reviews were good, so I'm hoping for the best. Very easy to assemble Recommened, and only attachments I've used so far work well, and are easy to use. Doing a good job on the new carpet in my bedrooms and stairs. Works well on the hardwood on my main floor too. Reasonable weight and cord length. I already knew from an earlier review that it wouldn't fit under furniture, but I can use my Eufy for that, so no problem - the high traffic areas that need a stronger suction was really what I bought this for. If it continues as it's started, it will be a good buy and well worth the money. I have had two Shark Rocket stick vacs in the past that are super easy to use, but the motors just don't last well, even with scrupulous cleaning of the filters. I'm hoping for better with this Bissell.

    There are very clear diagrams on the filter which shows that you should not be washing it as he demonstrates. You should run the water down the inside of the filter, and allow the water to spill out through the vents in the purple plastic part. Then you should allow it to air dry for at least 24 hours.

    • @lords-electrical

      It has happened on our demo unit and the best way i found was to push the bin up back into position then try and pull the handle down. It can be a bit stiff if it is full or needs cleaning around the flap. Good luck.

    Just cleaned my AEG and i wanted to know how much easier a Dyson will be to clean. Well, i was wrong, in terms of "easier".
    While the tank of the AEG QX9 is way smaller than in the Dysons, it's way easier to clean the AEG. I'm glad i bought it instead of a Dyson.
