the "don't play solo" tip is really depending on the player's tastes ...alot of people play singleplayer and still enjoy the game, really, that "tip" is kind of opinionated since unturned isn't really a pvp focused game, it is a survival game for everyone
Yeh i get that but for me i really don't enjoy unturned solo in fact i nearly quit the game but when i got into a pvp server with a squad of my friends the game was suddenly fantastic.
Squids tips to getting gud. 1. Don't listen to me. 2. Watch this video. 3. Watch this channels gun guides. 4. Crouch/Crawl when you are looting, or when you are trying to sneek up on someone. 5. Feel free to cheet if you are practicing your aim, spawn in a Horde beacon, some guns and ammo and start blasting. This will help you know what you are bad at, and what you exel at. 6. If you are playing survival, pick up everything. You can salvage things, e.g. turning metal into splints, turing cloths into rags. 7. Do some research. Don't try to use a rag to try and fix a broken leg. 8. Do some more research. Most people don't know you can craft a gun, with some planks, duct tape, and some rope. 9. If you are playing on a PvE server, or just on singleplayer, if the map has a safezone, go there. Take some easy missions. For example, on the Liberator, get the quest from Gwen and go under the ship to get a ring. That simple. Another one of these is the radio call-in one on greece, it is simple, and you don't need to go far to do it. 10. Don't go big right of the bat. If you are a new player, and you wonder into a military base, you will be killed. Weather it be by zombie, or player, you are not prepared. If you know what you are doing, then go ahead. If not, step back, and gear up. 11. Have a gas mask on. If you wonder into a deadzone, even if it is for a second, you might be droped below 45% radiation. This is deadly if you can't find something to counter it. Your radiation metar will slowly drop and once it is at 0, prepare to die. The only way to sucsesfully get in to a dead zone and come out alive, is with a gasmask, or if it is a small deadzone, like the one on washington, a bunch of vaccines. If you have played for a while, you will know the deadzones and you will avoide them if you don't have the correct gear. 12. DO NOT MELEE KILL ZOMBIES IN DEADZONES. So, you got a gasmask or a Bio-hazard hood. Good for you, you are moving into a deadzone and you don't have a suppressed gun, so you think you will melee them. Don't. You will be damaged if you do so by their blood, think the aliens acid blood. 13. In a PvE situation, a Ranger rifle is better than a millitary rifle. They are more common, as you can get them at places like Banks, meaning they are more common, and if you are on normal+, this can mean the diffrence between life and death if your guns breaks. Further more, their attachments are more longer lasting meaning that you can fire more shots from that suppressor before it breaks. 14. If you want a high stopping power, then pick up a millitary rifle. If you are on normal+, just considered how common they are before picking them up, if you are on easy, then pick it up. 15. Know your zombies. For example, a flanker goes "Invisible" upon spotting you, meaning they can be a pain to deal with, you can only see them when they are behind you. A flame zombie can catch other zombies on fire upon their death, and it could be said they go out with a bang. 16. You know when I was talking about rags ealier, you can turn them into bandages with two rags, and two bandages into a dressing. This will increase the ammount of health they heal. 17. If you have a base on a server, don't be shocked when it is raided. Some simple defences like a turret may detair would-be raider. 18. This is not to say that it will, so if you are on with friends, try to keep a few people on at the servers peek. 19. If you are bulding something, use Shift-f6 to enter the build mode. That is how many things are built. 20. Have fun. Unturned isn't about that combat, or the struggle to survive, (Which it isn't if you know what you are doing), it is about having fun in a world of endless possibility. If you want to try-hard, go head, if you find that fun. If you want to sit back and spawn things in and explore, that is fine too. If I have got anything wrong, please correct me. -From a person who has put WAY to many hours into unturned. Also keep up the good work. A lot of these things are life savers. A few mentions would be the ctrl clikcing, or the right click to set a keybind. I wish I knew these when I started.
Some things I forgot to add, keep food on you, doesn't need an explaining, same with water, you can get food from animals, if you do, cook it. You can also fish to get.... fish... you can farm, you can craft a make shift suppressor using two cans, horde beacons give loot upon being completed, but they are hard. 100% late game. If you are on greece, always go with omega. You spawn closed to them. Also, greece has no millitary base that isn't a safezone or in a deadzone. Hawaii has some deadzones scattered around the map. If you are at the gold corse in washington, go and check the crashed heli north-west of the island. Some guns can use both millitary and ranger mags, like the Nightraider and some others I can't remeber the name of. This is all for PvE, not for PvP, do not hold me to them standereds.
Another good tip when your on a easy server is get a hold of a chainsaw from farm locations and chop down as many trees you sanity can take and boom you'll have a lot of experience. Do this on servers though. You don't really need to do this in single player.
I wish this video was here when I was a beginner, now I have over 2k hours. Some of which was doing a president escort rp with you, loved it. (Even though I did get blown up by my team)

I haven’t played unturned since the announcement of 4.0 and kinda returned to unturned on console it’s nice to relax and play after a good day/night from work I play with my gf and she don’t like the console edition but she does agree it’s peaceful after a stressful day
btw for the people that are watching now they made it in the update where in 3rd person the guns have a lot lot more recoil so its hard to stay on target
This was helpful for me as I just started playing Unturned for the Console. Main issue with it is it costs 30 dollars so the servers are always empty. Maybe 2-5 people in each at most. Once in a while a server will get 20 people which is fun but it rarely happens. What are you opinions on Unturned Console?
I agree with everything except "dont play solo". I mean, yes it's better and easier to fight with group of 3-4 player or even duo but I saw many many solo pro players who was killing me and my friend very fast and easy. So you can beat everyone even solo, also more loot for you :D
You're right it's better to play with someone BUT sometimes you can't learn how to play when randoms is killing you without even saying someting like: "Stop Right There" "What are you doing?" It's just sometimes unfair and then everyone asks: "why is there noone to talk with before he shoot me right in the head???"
I got the game a couple years ago and it was super laggy but I think I was playing super modded servers and I finally found a modded server I love and now I’m the last few months I started playing again and now I just got 100 hours
Another good tip is equip your camo weapons skins on servers. Better than having ugly skins and looking like a middle school unturned try hard. Also turn off clothing cosmetics.
the moment i play on singleplayer i try to find a knife so i can sneak up on a zombie and i use right click on he's head so i can instakill him and this work's on most zombie's then when i find better weapon's i can really play

tbh get good at aiming is probably the least useful skill in unturned, because the TTK of most weapons is 0.2 seconds to kill
