Thank you for sharing more details relating to your adventure. I'll use this as an opportunity to comment since I consider myself "hooked" on your videos. I believe I've watched them all. No question that you have visited some very unique and special places. Your commentary and viewpoints of what you are seeing are most interesting and it's obvious that there is no hidden agenda. Two motorcycle campers on an adventure. I get that and admire you both for attempting such an experience. My wife and I could never do it. Further, I am most interested in the actual bike handling in so many different conditions. I have always been very hesitant about riding my Ultra Limited on anything other than hard surface roads. I'm amazed that I haven't watched a dropped bike in sugary sand. I heard Rich say he dropped your BMW but that's the only comment I've picked up on. That said, I'm impressed by both of your riding skills. So, I don't know how much longer you intend to continue your intrepid road trip, but trust I will watch your videos and live vicariously thru them. Thanks for sharing. Ride safe........
@@TwoWheelsBigLife Do you do this all year? Year after year after year? Do you plan on living in a tent for ever or one day have a more permanent dwelling?
After we retired we roamed around the country for 5 years in a motorhome with our bagger on the back, we had a blast. Had to give it up for family issues, but at least I get to relive vicariously via your vids with the hopes of getting back out there in a few years. I don't think people have any idea of how beautiful the US is, and all the unique places to explore and see.
Wow ..31 years that's great, congratulations...So, you two are as one ...That explains why you two seem to enjoy each other..Thanks, you two are inspiring..
I think a truck with the "four wheel" topper would be better. Just add the bike carrier on the back and get the small dual sport bikes, propane gas, battery, solar, generator, yeti, portable shower tent. You can cook, have a toilet, sleep comfortably, not worry about the cold or bugs, edit your video..etc. You can haul much more than 2 bikes can. Go fishing, grocery or trail riding and come back to the truck/home and not worry about bear or rain or snow. And you can carry the tent if you want to camp out side or just have the cover adjacent to the truck for the afternoon breeze. Maybe because you are into the comfy heavy cruiser bike that you don't want to go the truck round. Thanks for sharing, cheer, stay safe.
I use silk sleeping bag liners. They give you warmth in the cold and yet keep you cooler when it’s warm out. Kinda getting the best of both worlds. Love your adventures. Thanks for sharing.
+1 what Jim said below. My husband and I have camped off our motorcycles but we have not cooked at our campsites. No trailer to haul all the gear. Looking at your meals inspires me to try. Thanks Cathy!! Just a note - it's definitely more work to cook in camp versus eating out at a restaurant, but we'd never be able to travel if we ate at restaurants - too expensive and it's just nicer to have a good 'home' cooked meal. Ride Safe.

Your thick, (about 7/16”?), rigid, heavy cutting hoard is like what I used to carry. One day I found thin (1/32”), flexible cutting boards abut the same size as your thick board. They could easily be trimmed if necessary to fit in a dishpan bottom, along the inside edge of a cooler, etc. You can carry several of them for use as cutting boards (chicken, fish, veggies, etc), placemats on a questionable picnic table, writing stations, a dry seat at a recently rained on picnic table, etc etc. From the For What It’s Worth Department. Good point, this is not for everyone, most people wouldn't have the time to take 6 months off, unless they are self employed or are retired. My motorcycle camping would be impossible to do with such a large heavy tent, I try to do weekly, or maximum 3 weeks at a time, mostly because it does get tiring and unsafe sometimes with the many crazy cage drivers out on the roads. With the pandemic in full force, this is actually the safest way to live away from crowded hotels and motels. Thanks for sharing.

Nice video. Yep 2 more years we are heading out. We have a timeout camper and a 23ft cargo trailer so we can take a few more things. Doing the tent was a idea but since we can tow two trailers having the timeout was a better choice.
I have been very educated about this life style through your videos, THANK YOU! But, what about thieves? You said you use it as a base camp and then go venturing, how do you secure your base camp?
31 years ya'll got me and my wife a little we have been together 28 years i would love to live off my bike but my wife wouldn't last a weekend living like that
Hey guys another great informative video although after six months it must be time for a small reno... maybe a second story or media room ;-) cheers and take care, Dave
Enjoyed it as usual. I've mentioned a couple of things previously that worked for me. I live in bear country and hike in the wilderness. Bear-bells have saved me several times and they've run away when they heard them. Maybe something you can rig up around your tent. Tin cans with rocks in them might work as well, but probably only good if you cooked several things from cans. Bear bells wouldn't take much room. Also, does your tent have fibreglass or aluminum poles? I know you keep spare polls, either is good for spares. From experience, I know in the heavy wind the fibreglass polls will break. I now only camp with aluminum poles, no problem yet. I started motorcycle camping in 1977, I always thought that's how your suppose to go on long trips. I'm 68 now and plan to ride as much as I can net summer and I will be tenting.
@@TwoWheelsBigLife Bears don't like sudden noise. I looked at a couple of youtube channels and they showed things that work in bear country and tenting. You'll have to google to find them, but they also showed pulsing lights on a line as well as setting up a portable electric fence around their tent.
After six months of moto camping, what would be, if any, your equipment upgrade or change? What has been your absolute can't live without, with the exception of your bikes? Thank you! Really enjoy following your adventures 😊
When I retire, we may give it some test runs on longer trips. We've been married 34 years and have taken several multi day trips but so far my wife says no to camping and just have to rent a cabin or something.
There's so many options out there - check out Hipcamp. It's not just for campers & tenters. People rent out tipi's, cabins & campers on their property. Check out our Gunnison video if you want more information about Hipcamp. One thing we've enjoyed this summer is staying at a lot of different places.
I was wondering about that going South, but you know that even Texas and Florida can get cold because you lived there. Ozark trail Norfolk, Cabelas Alanak, Montana Canvas, all make tents of a little smaller size, but they have stove jacks. I know carrying a tent stove would make your trailer heavier which you might not want to do. Otherwise, go ahead and get 0 degree sleeping bags like you were talking about. You might think about even adding a silk liner which helps for warmth, but also keeps you skin from sticking to the interior of the bag. While I was on the AT (Appalachian Trail) I switched from a bag to a quilt to cut weight. I found the quilt more convenient than a bag, and I noticed a lot of people would leave their sleeping bags unzipped thus using it like a quilt. Last of all Helinox makes cots with full size legs which allows you to store things under your cot which will become handy if you go to a stove tent which can be a little smaller than what you are currently rocking. I make none of these suggestions as mandatory, just things to think about to make your lives easier. As you know or I’ve mentioned before, I cheat and pull a trailer (camper) behind my bike. All my best to both of you.

think about a small tent heater if you have the room I have the smallest of the buddy heaters and it woeks great in my two man tent.
Space is so limited. We didn’t think we would have so much cold in the summer.
@@TwoWheelsBigLife I've been going to the Devils staircase in Oregonia Ohio the last few years it's held the second week end in October last year I stayed in a tent instead of a cabin and woke up to Ice on the tent and that's when I decided to buy the heater I was a little cramped for space to as I have a 650 v star full bagger but it worked out great . wishing you guys safe travels
Love the title
Very informative. Thanks😎😎
Glad it was helpful!
Nice video. Yep 2 more years we are heading out. We have a timeout camper and a 23ft cargo trailer so we can take a few more things. Doing the tent was a idea but since we can tow two trailers having the timeout was a better choice.
Awesome. This tent is not permanent. Stay tuned this summer and see what's next.
@@TwoWheelsBigLife Nice. That will be great. We will be doing some more travels this summer refining our packing an traveling.
Great info some of those rocky mtn nights do get chilly I will take a 0 bag my next Western trip.🥶👍
Have fun! YES we were cold a lot in the west. it's the elevation
I have been very educated about this life style through your videos, THANK YOU! But, what about thieves? You said you use it as a base camp and then go venturing, how do you secure your base camp?
Good info! Thanks for sharing.
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you super Video y have learn Good luck ☺😘Reinhard out Germany sorry my Englisch is Not so Good 👍👍
You're welcome 😊Your english is good. Cheers
31 years ya'll got me and my wife a little we have been together 28 years i would love to live off my bike but my wife wouldn't last a weekend living like that
I feel your pain, mine won't either...
Hey guys another great informative video although after six months it must be time for a small reno... maybe a second story or media room ;-) cheers and take care, Dave
Possibly!🤣🤣
How do you secure your camp, when you are out exploring,? (keeping people out)
Enjoyed it as usual.
Awesome Lawrence. we do not have bells but i don't see why we couldn't use them around camp.
@@TwoWheelsBigLife Bears don't like sudden noise. I looked at a couple of youtube channels and they showed things that work in bear country and tenting. You'll have to google to find them, but they also showed pulsing lights on a line as well as setting up a portable electric fence around their tent.
I THINK U R HANDLING IT IT VERY WELL EVERY TIME I WATCH I WANT TO MEET UP WITH U AND TRAVEL
Thanks George! It's so nice to hear that.
After six months of moto camping, what would be, if any, your equipment upgrade or change? What has been your absolute can't live without, with the exception of your bikes? Thank you! Really enjoy following your adventures 😊
Good question! We are working on those. I think upgrade the sleeping and can't live without.....🤔🤔 The Solar has been a huge plus.
I'd like to know about the solar screen I see you have (i.e. where did you purchase it?; is it difficult to hook up; etc.).
Sure. I designed a built this solar. here is a Link to what I did and how I did it.
Thanks

Have you ever thought about getting a different set u0 check out bunkhouse trailers I pull one behind my fly sets up in ten minutes pleantyof room
Edit : that's set up and FLH not fly
🤔🤔. Maybe. I have been looking around.
Just curious since the videos are in September, where are you going for Winter. Arizona.southern Texas or Florida.
Yes we’ll be in the southwest.
So you guy's going south for the winter? Hopefully you will still be making videos . Really enjoy your content.
That's the plan! Thanks
Where is this campground? looks like Suches, GA.
😮😉
Why did you guys choose cots over an air mattress?
We had an air mattress last year and when even one of us would move we would wake the other up. These cots are comfortable.
