We're going about this wrong. We're trying to appeal to the Supreme Courts better nature. What we need to do is point out the HIGHER COST to INSURANCE COMPANIES for a doctor to try and save a woman's life. Risking septicemia, possibly losing limbs, being in the ICU trying to stabilize her life, has to COST a LOT MORE than having an abortion as soon as a problem is noticed. Get an insurance adjuster to work the cost comparison, and the Republicans will finally listen.

They wouldn't b @ risk if they weren't flagrantly utilizing abortion as a 1st choice of birth control.💯‼️

I beg to differ that Idaho and the other states that have restricted abortion rights care about either the mother or fetus. If the states did care they would be providing care for at risk fetuses and by extension the mother. I fully believe that in most of these tragic cases the mother wants the baby to go to term. If the states cared for either the mother or the fetus they would be offering intensive care treatment for them but they just send the mother and fetus away to wait for the situation to become more dire which doesn’t treat either mother or fetus. I think we all know that the hospital, state, lawyer and insurance company know treatment would be very expensive and result in a very sad miscarriage. Nobody in the above list wants to pay those huge costs.

What is happening in some states in the South and West is obscene, and insane. Why do some people want to eliminate women’s reproductive rights? Certainly NOT for health or justice! They seem to want it to fulfill some religious objective, i.e. they want to force THEIR religious mores and taboos down OUR throats! It’s all part of the looming fascism that is threatening everything American, including democracy today.

So if a woman doesn’t want a baby she gets a choice but if a man doesn’t want one, though? I’ve never understood that argument.

I somewhat get what you’re saying, but the man isn’t carrying the baby.

@JennyLovesWillRiker I don’t agree and that doesn’t counter what I’m saying at all. What about when women rape men? Still your uterus? What about all the other forms of birth control? Wouldn’t the pill show that you are more responsible?

Actually men do have a choice they just choose not to exercise it. Birth control is much easier for men than it is for women. A vasectomy costs around $1000 and is a minimally invasive one day out patient with little to no side effects. It's also reversible.A tubal ligation on the other hand is more invasive and can cost five times as much and the women can experience multiple side effects. If you're just using condoms and regular birth control you know the risk. You made your choice.

To all doctors, nurses and teachers. I extend an invitation for you all to come and practice in Washington State.... where your skills, your talents, your opinions and your dignity will be respected. Leave Idaho. Let them meet their fate.
