- Ilya Rashkovskiy with the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra performs Prokofiev - Concerto no 2 in G minor op 16 at the Arthur Rubinstein Piano Master Competition (Tel Aviv).
Since its inception in 1974, the Arthur Rubinstein International Piano Master Competition is one of the foremost Piano Competitions in the world. Arthur Rubinstein, who gave his blessing to the competition, headed the jury of the first two competitions (1974 & 1977).
The competition, is held every three years in Tel Aviv, Israel.

Where is Bolet in your list! He clearly sets the benchmark for the second Prokofiev concerto. Just listen to his furious 1954 performance!
Who is the conductor?
I like Iliya Rashkovsky his piano sound for Prokofjev piano concerto no 2.But my favourites are V.Ashkenazy his recording the most colorful piano sound.Nikolai Petrov the brightest Prokofjev piano concerto no 2.Also Yakov Zak and the furious ones like Alexei Sultanov and Sergey Redkin(his 4th mvt).I do not think that E.Bronfman or H.Gutierrez are the best.Bronfman can not play Prokofjev 2 or Rachmaninov 3 concertos.Bronfman plays Prokofjev 2 with a cold sound and Rachaminov 3 is a rough one

Bronfman forever ... He showed once and for all that this is NOT a romantic concerto, but a virtuoso piece about suicide and death .... These pseudo-romantic performances miss the point of it all ...
A sequence of clean notes, without any real meaning! That's not the composer of course, that's the flat and meaningless performance. Not to undermine Ilya's effort, he's done a pretty good effort practising this exceptionally challenging piece of art. However, it is a significantly unjust to compare him to Ashkenazy, Gutierrez or Vinnitskaya.
Bronfman rachmaninov 3 with Rattel is really good IMO
