    Awesome video! Just traded our '14 edge sel for a '20 titanium last night with very little to instruction on the new features. It's definitely a night and day difference. After spending all day reading manuals and watching TH-cam videos, this has been one of the most in depth and beneficial videos I've come across. I got mine (a 2020 model built in December 2020) with 4200 miles (dealership finance manager's demo) for $36,300 two weeks ago, over $11,000 off sticker. It's a lot a car for the money, I graduated to this after a 2012, 2016, and 2017 Fusion. I think I have every option including tow package, 20" wheels, the white pearl paint, and cooled seats. Got a square dining set with 4 high-back stools in the back hatch last weekend, only had to remove the legs from the table, very pleased so far

    Nicely done, Steve...very informative!
    We just traded in our '16 SEL for a '20 Titanium in that GORGEOUS Burgundy Velvet; it has 301A plus the Ford Co-Pilot 360 Assist+...VERY nice ride and definitely NOT your father's Oldsmobile as the old saying goes!
    Couple of things to mention...and this may depend on what optional packages one gets the rig with (301A, 302A, Titanium Elite, etc.), there are heated windshield wipers front and rear. They get activated when you turn on the cabin defrost (front wipers) or the rear defrost (back wiper). Helps to keep the ice from building up on the wiper blades and smearing the glass with frozen wipers.
    You CAN use the paddle shifters in "D", not just "S" (Sport) mode. For example, if you're in drive, without the cruise on and you start coasting down a hill, your speed will generally start to pick up. If you want to supply a little engine braking to slow down without using the brakes, tap the "-" button and the car will downshift. It will generally show a numeric for whatever gear you just down shifted to...that will show for a bit and if you don't do anything else, the numeric will disappear and the transmission will go back to normal operation. I haven't towed with my '20 Titanium but this is a nice way to supply some engine braking without getting into the brakes.
    I think the difference in "D" or "S" is that in "S", using the paddle shifters, the car will continue to accelerate in whatever gear was chosen (all the way to the rev limiter!) until you use "+" to select the next higher gear., just like if you were driving an actual manual transmission.
    The Titanium may also have the "cornering headlights" . That's where the headlights will pivot slightly as you go around a corner, throwing maximum light through the corner. The first time you turn the car on in a dark garage and watch as those headlights "self check" left and right is a little weird! ;-)
    Lastly, depending on package, there's the three Homelink buttons on the driver's side sunshade. Supposed to take the place of your regular garage door opener but I'm still futzing around with it trying to get it work correctly.

    • @CarsWithSteve
      @CarsWithSteve  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Wow Neil, thank you so much for the great feedback! That Burgundy looks really nice in the Edge - have you looked into tinting the windows a bit closer to legal limit?
      Thanks for the clarification on the "D" vs "S" for shifting.. this was an early video and have learned quite a bit more from this great community and from trial and error. You're bang on about how both those settings work!
      When the 2021 models are released I'm going to do an update breaking things down a bit differently. Enjoy the new ride!

    A question in regard to the security system on this edge titanium. When the alarm is on a car is locked is there a visible blinking light inside the vehicle to indicate that there isn’t an alarm system? If there is a visible light inside the passenger compartment, what turns it on and where is it located?

    Saying that recirculating is hard on the AC compressor is just nuts. Here in California, I always have my system drawing in outside air. The only time I use recirculating is when going by a large cattle holding area where the outside air STINKS.
