Still trying about 5 hours in on level 1 I got close, basically if anyone needs it the tip is to use reflect and stun Roxas so you can start up a combo but his revenge value is low so don’t go about equipping all combo pluses in reality equip none because you won’t get to your finisher before he hit’s his revenge value and attacks back. Also use Curaga Sparingly.
Yeah it's kinda a shame to say I did aswell and just watched a playthrough after the fight because I have better things to do then sit and learn an enemys attack pattern for 2 hours
I had to take a break for a few months. I finally beat it today, only took 12-15 attempts ha ha. Some of the boss fights are insane, but they are so satisfying when you finally beat them.
I was so confused when I was trying to find walkthroughs and tutorials, I couldn’t find this battle. Honestly they should have only added this battle for critical mode. It’s clearly causing days of frustration for people! You make it look so easy!!!
It’s really not hard, when you learn his attack pattern and guard/reflect at the appropriate time, its doable. His data battle doesn’t add much either beyond the duo strike raid at the end which he can combo and really mess you up.
I just wanna say THANK YOU! I decided to replay this game since KH3 is out in three days and man was I getting destroyed. This video, along with your videos on how to level the Drive Forms saved my sanity.
Also, the fight with Roxas and the cutscene that plays afterwards is another reason why I don't like Decisive Pumpkin. It's a clash between two halves of one's self and your basically using a candy cane and it undermines the epicness of the clash. That's why Kingdom Key (and Limit Form if done right before finishing the fight) is really awesome for the cutscene and just hits all the feels in the right places. It really just brings that imagery into perfection.
Finally beat Roxas after two days!! This video helped me a lot. I made sure I was stocked up on high potions and that worked great for me. Reflect also saved my life more than I can count!
The Roxas fight was so hard for me. It took me 2 days to do it. One, I kept getting a quick time event (sorta) with Roxas that I couldn't figure out, and 2 when I would go to my short cut menu to heal it would throw me into Strike Raid. I have no idea why this was happening but I am visually impaired so it is very hard for me, in a fast paced battle, to watch my menu section and the boss. I made it though so I am happy now.
I'm glad you beat it, must be hard with your eyesight? I've played games all my life and am usually good at most, but roxas really fucked me up lmao, I've at least died 45 times so far.
I'm level 36 and only have the level 1 growth abilities from my drive forms, except for the flying one obviously. This fight is INSANE. I've gotten him down to about two health bars left and then he goes into what I like to consider, "God Mode" and starts launching laser beams all over the place. I can't seem to dodge his triple lunge attack when it adds the lasers in the second phase of the fight. Sometimes I get it and then i can dodge them everytime, but when he gets in between Sora and the camera and tries to do the attack, I ALWAYS get caught no matter what I do and most of the time I am waiting for my magic to regen so I can't use reflect. You made this look pretty easy. IT'S NOT easy at all haha. This fight is complete and utter chaotic randomness...
I dont understand how does he have such high defense I'm higher level than him and I get 2 shot by roxas and this guy can take a whole goddamn combo from roxas

I finally did it today after so many attempts and after having stopped playing for a few months. It took memorizing the timing to block, knowing when to run in and combo and when to keep distance. That and managing when do use the cure spell and healing items. It can be done. Even after playing through KH1 and getting to this point not understanding the drive systems, it just takes running the fight many times.

Obviously I am replaying through the games after years and when I came across this battle I immediately looked up a tutorial. Long story short I watched this video at least ten times and the only thing that won me the battle was Reflega in the beginning, mashing his face to death after, pushing him into desperation mode, dodge rolling to save my life, mashing his face again, desperation mode, going into limit form and then destroying him. That was the only way I could beat him. Lots of dodge rolling and hitting him in-between his lazar attacks (which also using limit mode dealt a ton of damage to him).

I can say the quick run helped. Use decisive pumpkin keyblade, plenty of hi potions. Also, prioritize blocking as he dashes around, you will activate a quicktime action, the same that the samurai nobodies use. If you do that, it takes a big chunk of his health, and you steal his keyblades. You don't have to be really high level, lvl 52 works. Beat him on my 4th try

This fight was a blast and so satisfying once I beat it. I actually think using drives and dodge roll was a bit of a hindrance during this fight. It was made easier when I stunned him by blocking and than air comboing him a bit, before backing off. I found that area effect move easier too, by just running along the edge of the arena. It helped that I was level 58 by the time I got to this fight, too from leveling my some of my drives.

I don't understand what just happened. I got to Roxas for the first time on critical. Antiform as I went in so I started off without drive bars. Beat him first try. Literally only last week I spent an hour trying to kill him on Normal difficulty and I was getting bodied...
I guess some advice is get yourself to level 49 for second chance. Only heal on 1hp. Edit: also try to maintain composure. A beginners mistake that I personally made a LOT is trying to do aerial recovery as soon as you can. It instantly cancels out your "1hp invulnerability" and can actually get you killed way easier than just letting Sora fall while spamming your heal to use it as soon as the game lets you

Oh my gosh I did it....
I did it!! Took me like A day....Holy crap.
I didn’t think this fight was to bad honestly. You helped me a lot!
My tip for this boss or maybe all boss in KH2 if you don't know what to do just use reflect LOL.
How'd you get mp hastera on sora base form?
This saved me from deleting the game lol Thank you
Hahah glad you persevered!
@@MissildineOnline same here !!!!! Thanks so much for this !
@@jarredsmith100 thanks for watching!
I wouldn't use any Drive other than Limit for the instant heal and Arcanum! Dodge Roll is really only useful for his DM
jeez the power of choosing the strength instead of defense
Is that why is so damn hard? By far hes the hardest boss ive faced. Ive played all the games and beat them all even sephiroth but this final mix is my first play through and damn on critical it gets pretty heavy
4XeoN The oNe7 yeah on critical kh2 fm is mighty hard if your not a key blade master” as kh nerds say
I beat him with none of these abilities some how and I’m like lvl 49 and got lucky lol
I swear I almost cried once as a kid,I just couldn't even get one bar,I got so frustrated
Its not that easy though
What level should i be? im level 42
and im getting destroeyd
How do you get dodge roll I don’t have that ( sorry if this is a stupid question )
You have to level up your limit form
got him guys, reflect spam the laser combos
How do you get the HP to Show in the game is in a Setting
It's an ability called scan
Right back at ya, buddy. ( lie down try not to cry to much.. )
Too late!
after 30 minutes i beat him, it was so intense
Big grats! One of the hardest bosses in all of KH, honestly!
I'm raging vs xenmas
I did to I did not have some of those abilities and Roxas uses the strat that I use on every game
They made sure to make all of the Square Enix characters hard the Disney bosses are super easy barely an inconvenience especially the Tron boss
How can you dodge and high jump or doble jump?
Yes?
@@MissildineOnline how did you manage to dodge roll i dont have it how you unlock it
I don't know how i beat this guy in my ps2, like when i was 12 years old.
Now im 20 in ps4 and i suck at all bosses
I feel this so hard 😂😂😂
@@MissildineOnline Was this fight even on PS2 during the main story? I never got far in it. I've heard this section is just a cutscene on the PS2 version with the option of fighting him later if you want to.
@@andersalstrup3077 yeah - this fight doesn't exist on the PS2 - but I believe there was a final mix version (which this game is basically) that did!
@@MissildineOnline is there any way to cheese through his health bar easily like other times you can counter his attacks with magic like in the beginning?
I'm playing on normal and trying to have a fun time for my first time completing the story. What's the best to use on that setting?
I thought this fight didn’t exist on PS2? I played through it on normal mode and I never got to fight him, only a cutscene
Limit Form really saved me
I haven't play recently,i just played today and i still didn't beat him. But I want to finish this game.
i don't know if im lucky because i can fight against roxas instead for the ps2 version,or unlucky because the fight is so hard.
So unlucky 😂😂
I lost all faith in completing this game due to this fight I just cant get anything right
It's tough but if I can get it, you can too!
This was like, my 12th attempt
I’m lvl 99 specialy for this one. And still he beats me just the moment before I have him. 🙈
"How to beat Roxas" barely gets out of the fight alive with 1 hp.
You missed the key phrase there friend. "Gets out of the fight alive". You're welcome! 😂
@@MissildineOnline lmao, fair enough
I've noticed that you never actually got the "The End" Keyblade clash, where you can steal Sora's Oathkeeper and Oblivion Keyblades back (I refuse to refer to them as Roxas').
Why?
how do you have all this shit? I'm level 40 and have been collecting everything i can find and dont even have dodge roll or any of those abilities
Those are growth abilities from leveling up your drive forms. I have a drive form leveling guide as well
Lol ikr
custommade21 level up limit form and get dodge roll level 1 was fine for me then follow all the abilities he equips
how do you get finishing leap
Put that in your description then
Sora x is what his name ultimately reflects . X standing in as the origination 13
Organization
That's not quite explained yet at this point in the story!
Still stuck on this guy since 2015 how is he this hard???
I wouldn’t have been able to beat this part without watching this video shout out to you man !!!!
Im the same level but I'm way weaker and I dont have reflega! I don't have cosmic arts or any of those nice items either... What did I miss out on
I don't understand what just happened.
It instantly cancels out your "1hp invulnerability" and can actually get you killed way easier than just letting Sora fall while spamming your heal to use it as soon as the game lets you
Thank you
How did you got so much ap with Sora? lol i'm the same lvl and have 60 ap
Critical mode gives more AP
@@MissildineOnline 'o' no way
