This is actually a second party game as Ready at Dawn, as far as I'm aware, was never owned by Sony, they just made handheld games and The Order for them. After this game underperformed, Sony chose to treat the game the same way as their PSP, Vita, and VR and act like they no longer existed. Facebook bought Ready at Dawn and commissioned them to make VR games which, again, hardly set the World on fire, and so RAD was shut down. I hope the core talent comes together again, forms a new studio and purchase The Order's rights from Sony.
This game had so much potential, but never quite lived up to my expectations. Interesting premise, good story, decent graphics and acting, but... it always felt like they forgot to put a game in there with it. So many nice areas and characters, but every environment felt very empty. I'm sure I spent almost as much time looking for things to do, to collect or to interact with, as I did actually doing anything. Would have liked to have seen a sequel, just to see if the devs could take on board the fan feedback and make something even better.
Despite its many flaws, I love this game. The characters, setting, weapons, graphics, voice-acting, soundtrack, and some aspects of the gameplay (I enjoyed the balance between walking around and combat) are decent. There's a ton of potential on which to build such as - making the levels more expansive, having more areas in which to explore; more interactions, more populated; allow the player to keep their favourite weapons for the entirety of the campaign and not just a segment within a level; better boss fights; branching paths based on the players actions; add some rpg elements; better AI/physics/environmental destruction...; much longer campaign and include co-op; and of course, advancing the story.
Games this days should be ashamed how ridiculous they look compared to this masterpiece. Looking at this graphic and everything else is simple amazing… i think it would be only fair if they make it for the PC!

Game has aged well, better graphics than most 2024 games release so far and the game came out with the ps4(close to 10 years old)!
