A little tip i found today, mark items as junk - as you would if you were going to deconstruct them for crafting materials - and then use the 'donate all junk' option in the expertise menu. It will donate all items you've marked so you don't have to select them individually. Note that if you mark something as junk but you have already reached proficiency 10, the item will not be donated and remains in your inventory to deconstruct/sell.
I don't think you mentioned this in your video so please feel free to share with your community, I'm not sure if this is common knowledge yet.

i think it is bugged, i have over 20 items as junk and i donated all junk and it only counted me donating one item
I did find the following statement in the known issues:
Expertise
“Donate All Junk” button math is not working as intended giving less materials than individual item deletion.
Will be fixed in TU15.1

Go into countdown, set target loot to Mods. Loot all as junk. Donate all junk. Break down everything that is already proficient. Next donate all printer filaments to whatever skills or Specialization weapons you prefer.(these will comes from the mods).

It is better to loot everything you don't need as junk and then donate it all in one go
All of a sudden donate all doesnt work on pc platform. Am i wrong.

It won't donate if you already reached Proficiency lvl 10 for an item you are upgrading.

Man you are the first one truly explaining how expertise works. Like when a gear peace gets one rank up you get one xp point to your main expertise xp. A lot of videos doesnt explain this. I always thought i get the main expertise level up by just killing enemys and was wondering why i not get a single point while doing challenging and heroic stuff in the game.
your not the only one. I'm like all this legendary and heroic gameplay and still no expertise level up
@@thobbs1854 exactly. Also about countdown mode here and there... Now i am at least experience level one and short before two... It is just about grinding items and dump them for the expertise level.

This was actually really helpful. When I remember to and I have a lot of junk I go and “ Donate all junk” at the expertise station. But I didn’t know how to get my expertise rank higher. Great video.

Thanks, this was great, forgive me if this was known already, but I found the targeted loot, gear sets, in the Summit are also targeted in countdown. Leveled up a gear set pretty quickly and go back to summit and changed. I also found I could mark as junk before going into recalibration and donate that way saving time. Sorry if repeating something known.
Thank you for your informative vids. Am a returning and a solo player, don't do DZ and the fastest way for me to up expertise level is to create a new character and use credits of the new character to buy items from vendors. To get items to proficient - about 20 pcs for weapons and named gear, 90 pcs for brand sets, 100 pcs for gear sets.

This is handy to have found now. I just got to SHD lvl 100. Pretty much maxed out my recal library and just have been selling my junk. I'll start working on this tonight. Good info to know about. Wanna be done farming this before getting to SHD lvl 1k.

Getting all these named items and breaking them down would really help you in rerolls for trying to make a better name weapon. Such as my loved Pestilence is only doing 70 damage and I really need a damn better one. Tnxs for the info and vid here.

Will it only look for duplicates to donate from your inventory, or will it also look in your stash? I assume it won't offer to donate anything marked as Favorite.
Now would you also recommend only upgrading a proficient wep if it's god rolled?, I had two Chameleons and it let me chose which one to upgrade, so I feel like you could potentially waste all those upgrade levels if you end up finding a better rolled wep for e.g
I’ve been testing this for a bit now. Now hear me out here. All the junk you send into the expertise to upgrade all the equipment will take forever especially for your favorite gear and guns. To funnel all the stuff you have as junk to your favorite items just deconstruct all your junk. When you max out your resources go to where Expertise window and select that one gear that is your favorite. Click on that gear and you will see an option that says donate materials. If you donate all your materials for that one gear or gun. It will bump up that item really fast. That’s the fastest way to upgrade your best equipment. Because if you go the other route and donate all the junk to a bunch of random’s it will just take way too long.
+100. This is also my current preferred method: deconstruct all junk to get components. Then donate to whatever gun/gear I want to make it proficient.
Donating to all will increase proficiency across everything even things that are not yore favorite.
Having youre "favorite" be proficient doesn't matter if you're expertise level is low. You have to gain proficiency in everything to gain expertise levels.
This is the way I do it too. Much faster.
Also if you want to max out proficiency on a certain gear for example yaahl gear you can’t farm for in countdown. If you have yaahl gear put on 6 pieces and run countdown 2 or 3 times and you’ll have it max proficiency without donating items. I got my system corruption gear max just doing that
Thx for the detailed video. I want to say that, thay menu some times glitcing little bit laggy. One more thing cant we see new added item at first, like we have normal sort option with back pack.
Edit: that new expertise option helped me to clean my inventory.lol
If I may please add onto your video. If you also have duplicate name items (or normal) you can use it as your primary and secondary to expedite the ranking too.

is it just me or are the mesh and textures for the new assault rifle and LMG very "placeholder" same for the Bluescreen and the dread edict (though to a lesser ish degree)
Ive been dumb !! ive been deconstructing my gear and gearsets instewad of donating them !!! i didnt realise until i replayed the video that you should donate gear too to raise your expertise level up to now - and for months ive been only donating my weapons
One thing to keep in mind before donating weapons for expertise levels, check each for the new “flatline” talent and you may want to transfer that to your library.
i have a question if i put some talent in my library and found named item have more stats like the normal item give 20% damage and found rare talent with the same name give 30% damage how can i save over it ? or is there a way to remove some talents form my library ?
@@blk8366 You can save all talents to your library except ‘Perfect’ talents or any talent that is in gold letters. Named weapons tend to have talents we cannot save and transfer.
@@blk8366ou can’t modify the talent on named weapon because they usually have a “perfect talent”, which can’t be replaced or reconfigured at all

I maxed out my vile mask and upgraded it, it says 1% armor, is that possible even tho it's a skill tier?

Can you use crafted weapons or armor for XP?
I appreciate we now have something to do with all the loot we get as we play but with the overlapping Proficient / Expertise systems they’ve created the most complicated and confusing system imaginable!

I read that if you just donate all junk, it will mess up and cap before you reach expertise level 22? is this true?
I wanted to ask if I gave a team mate a weapon that I leveled up to my expertise level. Will this weapon perform at my expertise level?

@Kamikazevondoom can you make a video on optimization and gear sets I still don't quite understand the difference between reconconfiguring and what to do with low level weapons that you like
FYI check out all the vendors to see if they are selling your favorite gun,m say a FAL, buy a bunch of them and then donate them. most of us have gobs of credits so buying 20 of 1 gun wont be all that difficult. Gear however is a different story. It takes much more gear to donate to get you from 0 to 10.
Just to mention you can donate materials which I would not recommend you are better off crafting Armour and then donating those materials the only one I like never use is protective filaments, which is the only I donate to had to level weapons or skills.
I donate a few materials in this video. But sadly I’m all out of materials haha

If you are donating duplicates, yes, you’ll lose that item you donate.

So if I have one of the weapon I want to level up, I would need 20 of those to be fully proficient? What if it's a raid weapon?

@@dub3140 Nah son. Best out of the box gear set is Negotiators Dilemma. Nothing can keep up with triple/quintuple damage on crits AND bonus critical damage.

1. Weapon damage and armor upgrades are based on your Expertise level (e.g. Expertise lvl 1 will allow you to upgrade Weapon dmg/Armor by 1%)
2. Each Proficiency level of any item is also a point towards Expertise level (e.g.1st level of Expertise requires 100 Proficiency levels from across all of your items )
3. Each weapon, named and exotic weapon/item, Brand Set, Gear Set has 10 levels of Proficiency
4. When you reach lvl 10 of Proficiency for an item it becomes available for Upgrade in Expertise (weapon dmg/armor)
it is better, I loot everything i don't need as Junk so I don't have to look for it in my backpack later and then donate all of it
@@sean-onfire4968 yes, in open world if loot drops I quickly check if I need it or not, if not I use key to "Loot as Junk" and then just go to Expertise to donate all of it. In "Countdown" due to time limit there I just collect all loot and then browse through it after to mark junk

I just tested it, I had two Vector SMGs. Donated one individually - got 44 000 points
Donated second one using "Donate All Junk" - got 44 000 points
So it works normally
So the Devs have added in an exponential Grind on top of all the other grinds? What do you gain from the Expertise leveling?
20% increase in damage to your guns, 20% base armor to your gear, etc. It's currently capped out at level 20 right now. But they will increase it over time.
@@StableDruid130 it is still not making any sense the devs literally buff up the enemy too so it's like cat and mouse they give us ways to make us stronger but buffs the npc to break that. This crap is the worst addition to division 2 honestly;

Still very confusing. You can't donate 20 EBs. How do you max the carthisis. Maybe it'll be more clear once I start playing.
You could. But why would you? You can just use it or donate materials.

Well for whatever reason... My weapons won't donate anymore... My proficiency is 47/367 this # hasn't moved in almost a yr.. guess I must be maxed.....Now what? My expertise level is stuck at 4... Almost 1 yr running..
Why cant anyone just explain how to level the expertise bonus grade. No one explains thst after you hit proficiency 10 you cannnot donate the weapon anymore. I upgraded my gear 2 times and since then the game hasnt allowed me to upgrade my grade level a 3rd time because i dont have much expertise. The game doesnt bother explaining what to do next and no one even bothers explaining the last part either when it comes to bonus grade upgrades. Its always just the same steps when it comes to donating. Youre better off just using the weapon on the summit. Donating the weapon doesnt really give you much xp imo. You would have to donate like 20 of the same weapons to level it up like 1once or twice.

there is grind then these is division 2 expertice grind, its on a different level. probably 5000 hours farm to get al maxed out :P took me almost 50 hours just to get 1 specialization to proficiant... takes to damn long and its actualy not even that muhc worth it. it adds a insanly tiny amount of bonus for the lifetimes effort grinding u give it
