Definitely my favourite from the album so far. I've got no issue with Linkin Park doing pop, hell, A Thousand Suns is my favourite album. I just haven't liked the melodies all that much. This one's great, and got some sick rapping too!

It's really not. Waiting For The End, Iridescent, Burning in the Skies, Robot Boy, The Messenger...there's a ton of pop there. Obviously alongside Wretches and Kings and When They Come For Me, but it's there.

A Thousand Suns is _not_ a pop album. Poplike song structures doesn't make a song "pop". The songs you mentioned are soft rock or alternative rock, unlike the 3 songs from this album so far.

One of the reasons I love Linkin Park is that they do not make the same stuff over and over and over again.
Each album is a work of art.
On this album they've decided to put the lyrics first, work with other writers and then layer the music around it. It's like it's not in a genre or set style of music and fits with them hating to be labelled into one category of music.
For those moaning about lack of guitars. Brad Delson has stated in multiple interviews that he has done so much guitar work on this album through layering different guitar sounds.
It's also been noted in interviews that the music is only provided by the six band members. They had no session musicians etc, and this is the first album of theirs that's occurred on.
I'm personally excited to hear it.

I completely agree! I'm also very sad about Chester, but it's frustrating when people feel like they have to connect everything back to his passing. To me, a better approach is thinking about what the band wanted each song to mean when they wrote it. In this case, they were absolutely going for a diss track.

its also tragic that chester bennington died after this. its almost his goodbye album, his s*ic*de letter. i think fans were disappointed that chester was really hating on his most famous tracks, he genuinly downgraded them and a lot of them rescued people, me included. but i guess he wanted to move on and now we have to do it too.
I feel guilty for my sadness over his passing. Almost a feeling of " well you didn't care about his well being BEFORE he died, and NOW all of a sudden you care again!?". Anyone else know what i mean?

Maydisha LP have been going more into classic rock and techno and less of the classic Nu Metal for years now, Meteora was the last truly Nu Metal LP album. Listen to Hybrid Theory and Hunting Party back to back and there's a massive difference in sound, more guitars and electronica these days but still great music. This song I'm not as keen on, but I shall remain cautiously optimistic. :)

Good Goodbye, new song by Linkin Park. Linkin Park is one of my first influence among Green Day, Nirvana. 3 years ago, as their super fan, I waited everyday anticipating their new singles and new album 'The Hunting Party', and they never disappointed me.
3 years later, things change, so does Linkin Park. They comeback with new sound. As a fan of old Linkin Park, I'm so detached from their new songs. But 'Good Goodbye' really gives me chills.
Do I have to say 'Good Goodbye' to the old Linkin Park? I think I am not ready for that. Now I believe what people say about evolution. When you hate their new stuff, it only means you're not growing up. But they do. You're sticking with the past, but they look forward.
