Huge fan of Tom, proper chef showing us how to cook proper food in an easy to follow manner. Love to go for a few pints with him, be a right laugh an I bet he has a few stories to tell! I’m gonna have a go at this recipe for Mothers Day this Sunday! 👊
I love sausage rolls and cannot wait to eat this. Shared this recipe with my brother and we are both making this for our families for supper tonight. Thank you, Tom!
Making this right now. I'm just sweating down my onions. Always been a big fan of your books Chef, you never cut any corners. Sure this will be a classic!
Hey Chef! My wife and I consider ourselves sausage roll connoisseurs and can't wait to try your recipe. I also like to make skinless sausages from Koftas to anything wrapped in caul fat. I can't be bothered fiddling with traditional sausage skins. Cheers!
Tasty, lush (i quote). Could not bring myself to trim the ends before cooking, my treat, I trimmed them and ate the trimmings after cooking. Good meat mixture and seasoning. Posh Nosh.
I was mind blown 😲 looks amazing! As a non aussie I always had those crappy sausage rolls from patrol stations or party finger food. This sausage roll does its justice for sure!!!
I would love to see Tom's Christmas video where he show's us how to make it easy by part cooking food so it doesn't take long to cook the lunch on Xmas day.
I'm sure these will become a family favourite in house, but I do like to make and eat a Delia Smith sausage roll, could eat them till they drop out my ears. Handsome looking pastry.
@@ChefTomKerridge it went down a storm! We served it as part of home made afternoon tea and it’s now been added to the “family favourite” recipes. Looking forward to trying some more of the recipes.
Love this Captain ;) researching sausage roll recipe's for a video on my own channel, any tips for adding onion chutney to the sausage roll? kinda like a the mushrooms on a beef wellington? Would it be too soggy?
#DanielRitter I've just spotted your post. I used to have a problem with the base which can sometimes be soggy, no longer.. once the sausage rolls have been in for 15- 20 minutes., I then turn them over and cook a further 20 minutes. However, all cookers and ovens are different, so keep an eye on them once the time starts ticking away. This method ensures you never have another soggy bottom. I have had compliments on these and am pleased to share with you. You must keep an eye open.
Tom, what type of sausage are you using? Beef, or something else? The recipe is very interesting though, completely different than anything I have done before with sausage rolls
The ingredients list and the written method below the video are both wrong as both (for some inexplicable reason) omit the sage which is shown in the video. I’d watched the video, wrote down the ingredients as shown in the video header and followed the written instructions. Only after making and wrapping in cling film did I go back to the video and realised the error. I broke open my cling film package added sage and re-wrapped it. Tom Kerridge really does have clingfilm shares!
This guy is always doing Indian food, he acknowledgeds Germans Hotdog, and then adds surry. He makes so many Indian dishes, kebabs, flat breads, Naan, but he never once acknowledgeds the contirbution and the fact that England is now Curry mad, even Kier Stammer and MPs had a Curry night takeaway, JD Weatherspoons most popular day is Thursday as Curry, but when Indian men go to Country pubs, or JD Weatherspoons they re the last to be served and I remember when the natives in England used to call the Indians Curry breath, Chillie head, went around holding thier nose and telling them to go back home! How duplicitous of the them. The Native American Indians had a saying White Man speak with Fork tounge!
Bit of a waste of pastry. You could have made both rolls from one sheet... Other than that, looked tasty. I use parmesan for dusting my pastry instead of flour
What waste! It took 4 egg yolks to glaze the sausage rolls……ridiculous! Two yolks would have been ample. And why centre the meat filling on the pastry sheet , when moving it to the side would have made room for more filling on one sheet.
I like tom as a chef he is brilliant nice simple dishes that almost any one can make but please please please stop talking when you have a mouth full of food.

I love a chunky sausage roll yummy 😋
Love this chef food look good
Thank you for your lovely compliment. I hope my recipe was able to help you in your cooking.
Is it 200C in a fan oven? Mine turned almost black after 20mins at 200. Want to be sure I didn’t do something wrong
Beautifully done...👌👌👌 Looks so delicious👍👍
Thank you for your lovely compliment. I hope my recipe was able to help you in your cooking.
Excellent
These taste amazing but how do you get the bottom to be crispy? Mine came out a bit soggy
Great chef, great recipe
Thanks Mariana!
beautiful video
Thank you, Tom.
If my mum made Dad sausage rolls for Sunday dinner, then we'd need to have a serious chat about her sanity
Brilliant
Can I leave the rolled up mixture in the fridge over night?
how much is this in his restaurant? forty quid?
Thanks for this chef. I'm making this tomorrow, I couldn't find any fresh sage though, only dried. How much should I use?
Depends how strong you like your favours. I'd chuck in a couple tsps 😊
@@ChefTomKerridge Already in the oven, can't wait 😋
Can you use american or wholegrain Instead of english mustard
do you add salt at any point ?
Just tried to make these, they have soggy bottoms so will do them on a rack next time - no doubt it’s user error :)
I am American. What sausage should I use?
Thank you for your lovely compliment. I hope my recipe was able to help you in your cooking.
Thanks Tom
Chef - any view as to already cooking them on a wire rack, to get a more crispy base? Or do you want that fat combining with the pastry?

Would love a recipe for sausage meat. You don’t get good sausage meat in USA
Thank you for your lovely compliment. I hope my recipe was able to help you in your cooking.
Lol you think you’ve seen it all from Nigella/Delia/Paul Hollywood and then Kerridge comes along and smashes the lot of them. WOW!
Some of Toms homemade baked beans would go well with these.
Attempted this today. The whole bottom was so soggy. Any ideas what went wrong.
this guy knows what's up.
Bacon roll sounds banging though

The forked egg wash to bind pastry, then you cut it off but the fork marks were still there ???
Chef Tom Kerridge are you treating the smoked bacon as a seasoning
Yes please. Get in my belly.
WOW... Lush doesn't cut it.These are the business.
Why does lots of oil come out when baked?
It look loves xx

I heard this sausage roll will be available with chips for £37 at his restaurant soon, instead of £37 fish and chips lol
3 courses at Hand & Flowers are £175. A bit more than the fish in London
You are absolutely right, my bad, sausage roll and chips will need to be priced at nearer to £60 lol
Don't go their then..stick to ya Aldi & Lidl crap 👍🏻
@@mikesweeney1827Have a look at a few reviews... not the arty farty ones, the real people. The food isn't great.
Pork Wellington
The best sausage rolls were my mum’s!
How are there so few views on this.
Beggars belief, brilliant Cook easily the best on tv
Make your own Sausage Meat, we all know that bought Sausage Meat is made from all the bits of the Animal!
The recipe doesn’t list an onion. Is it only 1? White? Brown? Does it matter?
Clearly stated 1 onion.
His restaurant charges are just insane, and having seen several genuine reviews, they aren't worth the money.

Hi
Dude. You added sausage your your own sausage? Pardon me while I go crush some peanuts, spread it on toast, then add peanut butter on top.
...mmmm only £175.00 each...😊
