    I was trying to work out how his version of an omelette Arnold Bennett helped him lose weight given how unhealthy that dish is. Then we reach the second half of the video where he goes into the actual healthy dish.

      Did we watch the same show? The show is called my greatest dishes, the show revolves around 4 dishes that made them famous, no mention of diet in that segment. He only mentioned the diet on the lamb recipe.

      It's not that unhealthy, it has no csrbs, no processed sugar, not going to cause his blood sugar to spike. Much more healthy than you might expect.

    "I don't like to make things too complicated", so here's an omelette you can make in under 3 hours.

      Did he have a gastric band? I thought he went on a low-carb diet, he says this at 4:30. He has apparently started piling the weight back on, surely that wouldn't happen if he's had bariatric surgery?

    Anyone who pays £87 for a steak and chips ( by the look of the serving it’s one potato ) is off their head

      Wtf - we live in a free world with a “free market” and “freedom of choice”. No one is telling you where to spend your £87!

    how would this dish make you loose weight full of cream

      I think the title was in reference to the lamb shoulder rather than the omelet. Overall though it really doesn't explain the mechanics of weight loss well since it always comes down to calories in being less than calories burned. Protein does tend to contribute more to satiety than carbs. The other thing is that carbs tend to be very easy to consume in quantity which isn't good for people that are trying to lose weight. Carbs also tend to be very present in junk food so going low carb is an easy way to cut garbage calories from your diet. The elimination of junk foods in my mind is why these diets tend to be most effective since eliminating junk food and sugary drinks tends to cut out at least a few hundred calories a day.

    • @TheExpeditionUK
      @TheExpeditionUK 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Cream is not a carbohydrate and therefore doesn't contribute to weight gain. You can eat cream until your are sick and you won't gain weight (that's how the Keto diet works). Tom went on a low-carb diet to lose weight, he says this at 4:30. The low-carb or Keto diet just increases the fats and lowers the carbs in your diet, leading to weight loss.

      @@TheExpeditionUK That is the most nonsensical thing I've ever read. The way you lose weight is when calories in are less than the number of calories burned. If you eat at a deficit you will lose weight because your body will burn fat to make up the difference. The body may have a preferred source of energy but it's generally agnostic as long as you're taking in enough calories. You can eat a diet of nothing but junk food and lose weight(somebody did it). You can eat an entire tub of lard and if you're consuming more than your body needs you will gain weight.

    • @kelvintrollol
      @kelvintrollol 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@chrisoffutt8968 Actually, what you said is nonsensical. Calorie is a unit of energy, not a unit of weight. If you hypothetically consume 5 lbs of gold, you will gain 5 lbs even though gold is 0 calories. Furthermore, burning calories isn't the only way to lose calories. Letting it out of your system undigested is another way. The comment above yours is wrong too though. Eating fats like cream does contribute to weight gain; however, for various biochemical reasons, having a high fat diet is beneficial to weight loss.

    • @chrisoffutt8968
      @chrisoffutt8968 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@kelvintrollol nowhere in my comment did I state or imply that a calorie is a unit of weight. I'm honestly curious how you came to that conclusion. Regardless of the diet chosen there's no way to lose weight if you're eating a surplus of calories. Arguing otherwise is arguing against the law of conservation of energy which is elementary physics. Ketosis is not some magical physics loophole. You can lose weight eating nothing but junk food but you'll feel like crap and you won't feel satiated. I can state this matter of factly because somebody has actually done it.

    He really likes things taken to the edge of burnt. Doesn't he know that the more caramelized food is the more carcinogenic it becomes. If you eat barbecued food and charred food all the time you are exponentially at risk of cancer.
