I’ve been working at Starbucks for about a month and I can already run every position on the floor, just takes a few nights of some online studying. Study the recipes and techniques and I promise it will just click.
Can you share some tips?? I just had my second day of training and I was introduced to the register after the online barista learning but I’m already having trouble remembering which drinks are which.

I got a call about my application, and I’m so nervous for an interview. Idk how I’d do with the stress because I know Starbucks can get so busy, and all the different drinks.
I love your answer!!! You study and you learn how to do your job. You don’t expect the customers to accommodate you. That is awesome. I worked there back when I was 17 and that’s exactly what I did. Studied and pretty soon I was able do any job that was needed.

I worked at Starbucks for about a year and a half. And when you said people who worked there would like move you out the way cause you don’t know what you’re doing when you first start IS SO TRUE! When I started people would literally be like “no you don’t know this yet” we’re putting you on oven” and I would be like WELL MAYBE I WOULD KNOW IF YALL WOULD TEACH ME AND STOP PUTTING ME AT THE DAMN OVEN BECAUSE IM FRUSTRATING YOU LIKE DAMN. Lmfaoo
Are baristas allowed to wear flats ?
noo same i understand!! I’m a barista now and when i started they literally only had me at drive-thru window for 3-4 months and when they would place me at bar or anywhere else they would notice i didn’t really know as much and would get frustrated with me. IF YOU PUT ME HERE OFTEN MAYBE I WOULDN’T FRUSTRATE YOU! It made no sense how they expected me to know everything when i was only in one position my entire shift for months 🙄🙄
Oh man😂 remember those days lol. I’m still new, but I honestly just got my experience during busy hours. I’ll finish drinks, make foam, do whip, make the remakes, grab food sometimes. I’m always on drive because I request it but I get bar occasionally.

I AM HAVING THE EXACT SAME EXPIERIENCE
4 days in and no one is teaching me how to make drinks or what the drinks are. Instead of teaching me they treat me like I'm a nuisance and in the way. It sucks feeling so useless. I feel like quitting so bad :(

niyah m. for me it was pretty easy because they were hiring and you just have to be upbeat but professional in the interview! what i found that works is that you talk a lot about working with a team and like being a team player! i’m not sure about now because of corona, but i’m pretty sure starbucks is hiring! it just might not be as easy :/
How hard is it memorizing the drinks ? 🥺 i got offered a position but I’m so scared that it’s going to be so hard

the employees!! i felt so excluded because they all already knew each other lol. they threw me in making drinks & i was making a frappe & 1 looked at me and said “did u add the base?” & i did but he didn’t believe me 😭😭 it looked the exact same too
also the loaves are so mf hard to grab with tongs 😭 i’ve been breaking them in half

I am on my third and last day of training. I feel very overwhelmed. It looks easier than it really is. It’s a lot to memorize 🥺

I loved working at Starbucks although I only made $9.50 lol!! Was there an entire year and it's not easy at all like you said but definitely a good place to get experience at !!

Exactly! I came in both my first and second days for training and both employees were annoyed at the fact that they had to train me and didn’t try to hide it. They just gave me book and told me to read it. Anyway my third shift is in a couple of days and if I continue to dislike it, I’m not going back 😭

first day on the floor was today, they were teaching me the hot bar and all the recipes were so overwhelming 😭 but a bit of studying will def ease up my nerves and i’ll be on top of my game for sure && my coworkers are so nicee and help me whenever i need help so i’m looking forward to learning more ab the drinks and routines

how do you guys study? i just finished training and would love a simple way to study some of the hot drinks
Because of covid I appreciate being allowed to wear a hat now because my hair was mess since I could not get it done. But thankfully it’s an option for us in our district so now that my hair is all did I don’t need to wear it

In 2 years I’m gonna work at Starbucks since memorizing patterns is something I enjoy and I don’t really get phased by people with an attitude plus good pay and benefits plus I generally like to see people having a good day and if anything that makes my usual ok to good days better

I mean, when it comes to jobs like these, you can't get in your feelings about how people are treating you, that's the world we live in. Just get over it and do your job, the costumers will forget about you and what happened anyways 🤣🤣🤣
i applied 4 days ago and i’m scared asf but also excited?? cause this will be a step out of my comfort zone (since my anxiety is...all over the place). i’m gonna call them in like 30 or so minutes to tell them. it’s definitely time to get a job. i’m almost 18 and i need money...and experience-

I applied and this is way too out of my comfort zone and I PICK STARBUCKS OUT of all the jobs in the world. My friend and I applied and I'm terrified for my life like I'm not good at communicating or memorizing.

@@emilymartinez8561 no it's just spamming me about joining some other Starbucks place but don't stress yourself over one job. There's many jobs out there so don't be picky and accept any job then you can advance to another better paying job. On Indeed I don't think they give you a update if you didn't make it but they would definitely contact you about your interview. Apply to many jobs and view the offers they give you after your interviews...uh okay I'm rambling too much. 💚 YOU GOT THIS EMILY!!!!!

Love the video! Starbucks was my first job. I got hired at 15 years old. I only lasted 5 weeks Spring break of 2018. My training was only 2 days🤔! I agree the easiest thing to make was the frappechino😁. I ended up getting fired due to "miscommunication", but the manager said that I was on the rehired list 😏. I also got anxiety due to the drive thru. The oven was another easy thing for me. I agree with everything you said💯👌✨ (and yes there was ALWAYS something to do and the pay was good)

How long did you wait after submitting your application until you called them to ask about the status? I just applied to Starbucks as my first job I'm in high school tho so idk if they'll accept me😁

Go into the store and ask for the manager, you’ll get a much better chance! They usually have literally hundreds of applications.
Starbucks will accept anyone it doesn't matter if you have work experience!! I worked there a year and loved it although it's v stressful fyi. if you have a good attitude you'll get the job dw and don't be afraid to apply at different ones near you either one store might need ppl more than the one you applied at

I had only 2 days of training at the end of November before my store shut down due to covid, 3 weeks later we are open again and apparently I will not be getting anymore training :/ Ive worked two 5.5 hour shifts and solo'd drive thru even with no drive thru experience and the cars never stop!!! I know yours was a summer job but I'm probably about on my final branch here
I don't drink coffee so I've only been in there once to get hot-chocolate. My Question; I see lots of little blenders and small steel pitchers for the frothy milk and wondered who cleans them and how they do it? Or are they just rinsed quickly?
They are rinsed quickly and there are separate ones for vegan drinks

@@mckennamaroon7335 yes! So far i love it! It is stressful at first mainly because I felt useless during rushes but my trainer was amazing and everyone there is super nice. Main advice is to speak up if you don’t understand something or if you don’t feel comfortable in your position! :)

It took me like two months to be put on drinks. But at the same time it was good tho cuz it’s better to get familiar with the register. It helps later on once u move to drinks
I think this is the one thing that Starbucks lacks on I didn’t learn to make drink until like my 3rd month working at one
It’s my first official week since training and I seriously don’t know what I’m doing i kept messing up drinks and I felt my coworkers getting annoyed
@@Crisp-fi9zg don’t worry too much about how your coworkers are feeling.... if it bothers them enough they’ll help you but everyone makes mistakes when barring it’s just the life of a barista

I work at starbucks and honestly the best thing you can do is go in and ask about your application. Starbucks likes to see the interest in their applicants! Best of luck!
I literally had an interview for Starbucks yesterday and got the job on the spot. I barely have experience either but do watch TH-cam videos on how to answer interview questions, and talk about your strengths and what you can do for the company. Also call them and ask if they received your application!!

Briana Lopez They did that too me too but just be consistent and they will remember you ! Trust me. Also be sure to go in and personally hand your resume to the manager. Usually managers work in the morning from 8-5 on the weekdays !

The one I worked at was drive thru and walk up only, so customers could not come inside. It depends on the location and structure of the store.
hi! i work at starbucks currently:) i honestly wouldn’t recommend it if you have social anxiety because it is such a fast paced job and people can be super rude so you have to deal with that:( it’s a lovely job though!

I have social anxiety and I enjoyed working there. I only have to say the regular and just make drinks and maybe have some shallow conversations. It has a lot of benefits and I push through but Christmas was insane and made my anxiety go up the roof because it was so busy.

the one I worked at didn’t have that much of a strict dress code... you could wear dark denim/black jeans, solid color tops (vnecks, long sleeve, etc.), and of course non slip shoes.

Give it a few more days and then reach out. They might just be busy or have lots of other applications, but a week and a half is a good time to call in and make sure they got the application.
