- I hope you guys enjoyed watching this video about my Starbucks experience so far. I am a relatively new barista so I still have a lot to learn but I hope I was able to help new fellow baristas out. And I hope we are all able to grow together :)

i just had an interview yesterday and got the job on the spot! the manager was SO fricken chill! she asked me questions as if we were having a normal conversation and i loved it ahhh but i totally recommend bringing in your resume if you have an interview because my manager said the whole system crashed or reset and they lost my resume/application. she was glad i brought mine in!

I struggle with anxiety, so this was a good reassurance. I need a job like this so that I am able to step out of my comfort zone. :')

barista here!! I can say with absolute certainty that this is the job to take you out of your comfort zone safely!! it took me FOREVER to wrap my head around all the drinks and not once did anyone i worked with make me feel bad about it at all! not even a look!! also, i think that a good majority of us have anxiety (because retail) so we all get how you feel
If anyone is thinking of applying but is scared, just do it it’s really fun once you get used to it. If you want Starbucks but less stress try applying at a private SB like the target or other in store locations near you. Worse thing that happens is you get extra training to help you feel better at working fast paced.

Really? I thought it was stressful to work at Starbucks in target. Starbucks in targets can get busy too and I heard that most of the time, you are by yourself so idk. I was interested in working at Starbucks in target though.
I work at a Starbucks on my university campus. It definitely gets busy, but I feel it's easier without having to deal with a drive thru or mobile orders 😅
i was stressing over how i could possibly remember how to make everything and the app tip was so helpful! I'm going to attempt to memorize as much as i can to be prepared since my memory is terrible 😭

@@AlexHarmozi to be honest, it seems a lot more difficult when you are still trying to memorize drinks, but after that it’s a piece of cake. i really enjoy the spotify premium benefit that’s come with being a partner and for most starbucks stores, the other partners are very sweet and patient, so you have nothing to worry about! it’s okay to make mistakes, so don’t feel like you have to beat yourself up for doing something wrong. hope you have a good experience!

I’ve only been getting trained this week for 3 days and they’re already gonna just throw me on what they think I’ll do best in this Monday😭😭😭 I’m so scared ):
Literally me too😭 I've never even been to Starbucks before this job. So figuring out cup and lid sizes are challenging
At first it might seem hard but I’m sure you’ll do great! They also threw me in right away and I was so scared lol. It seems like so much information at first that you just kind of have to go with the flow as much as you can and it’ll start making sense :) Also, don’t be afraid to ask questions!
My first day is Tuesday I can’t wait! I was in the drive thru talking with the barista and felt like I should ask if they were hiring and the person I asked happened to be the store manager in on a day she usually didn’t work ❤️

I just got an interview, I called and the supervisor said I seemed really sweet and she would call the hiring manager and recommend me personally. I really hope I get the job!
Just be yourself at the interview, and remember Starbucks is really all about their customers. So if they ask you any questions regarding that, just make it known that you really care about the customers being happy. Let me know if you get the job, best of luck! I’m sure you will! :)

Hey , how are you? I’ve actually been wondering to apply for Starbucks for a while now but I’m actually applying as a teen. Do u know what that must be like?
I’ve finished my first week of work (my training). Tomorrow is my first “real” shift and I’m scared to mess up drinks. I also am stressed bc I only was being trained for a week and so it’s just kinda scary. It really is so much info in a small amount of time.
Don’t stress too much about it, and remember they don’t expect you to know everything already. Just ask lots of questions and you’ll get the hang of it, don’t be too hard on yourself :)
How is the job going if you still work there?! If you’re still there I hope it’s going well:)

@@Mariah._S It’s doing so well now! I love working at my shop bc the other partners are so nice and supportive. I have learned so many skills working at Starbucks, though it has its downsides as a large company. Overall I have had a really positive experience!

Man I give you baristas a lot of credit. Being a barista Seems like something you'd have to take a college course for. When people come to Starbucks and other high end coffee shops they expect perfection, so I can only imagine all the Karens you have to deal with.

I believe all Starbucks are pretty flexible with your school schedule. I go to school 4 days a week and my manager works with my schedule so I think you should be okay :)

I’m 16 and I’ve been working since I was 14 I wanted to switch my job I’m currently a cashier at a grocery store and is there anything that I should consider before I apply ? Like what’s the worst part of the job as well
I’ve never worked retail before, but I know that Starbucks is a fast pace job compared to other fast food places I’ve worked. The worst part is just the occasional rude customer, but I feel like you probably get those at the grocery store too. I think you should just apply, and try it out. Just don’t judge the job right away because it’s a little bit stressful at first but it gets better. You can always go back if you don’t like it, but I think you will :)

I just applied to Starbucks today and I’m super nervous about even getting an interview. Do you think they might not accept my application because I’ve never had a job before and that I’m really young?
There’s plenty of people I know who got the job with no work experience and at a young age. It does help to get to know the people at the Starbucks you want to work at because then you’ll have an upper hand when it comes to getting an interview. There’s a higher chance the manager will call you in for an interview if you’re a familiar face. I hope my advice helps! :)

Congrats on getting an interview! They might ask you a lot of situational questions such as “What would you do if a customer was unhappy with their drink” and things like that. Just make it known to the person interviewing you that it is important to you that the customer always leaves the store happy with the customer service. Starbucks is very much all about the experience so the manager just wants to know that you will make provide a positive atmosphere for the customers and your coworkers. Good luck on your interview! Hello! I’m a shift supervisor at Starbucks (: I’m in some of Jackie’s videos but she sent me here to help! When it comes to recipes, your goal isn’t to memorize them all in the beginning. Start with the foundation such as what sizes gets how many pumps, shots, and what milk. So this way you have a strong foundation on your lattes, Frappuccinos, and your cold drinks. Think about it like this. When you learn a Frappuccino (caramel) you now can use this knowledge to make a mocha Frappuccino by swapping out only the main ingredient (sub mocha for caramel) same with lattes. Once you know the shots, you can begin building a strong foundation. I don’t like using this term, but I like to say “common sense” when it comes to a few things like refreshers. If you master a strawberry açaí, you’ve mastered all refreshers just by swapping out main ingredients. Teas too. Here’s a tip, when it comes to complicated Frappuccino’s like double chocolate chip and s’mores when you do those, know that those are the only ones you’ll have to practice a bit mentally and physically to really get them down. As a current barista, every recipe becomes like stuck to the back of your brain. They become easier to make and remember with time and practice. Basically everything depends on sizing unless requested otherwise.

Honestly typing in orders is the hardest for me…any extra advice for this 😬
Honestly, that is just a matter of practice and time. You will eventually memorize where the buttons are but if you need to, take a picture of the pos system and that way you can review it at home. That was one of the hardest parts for me too because there’s so many buttons! But usually if you let a customer know you’re new they will be understanding and repeat the order if necessary. I hope this helps :)
Did you get an email or phone interview after applying? I did an email interview with a hiring manager just over a week ago so I'm waiting for a follow up.
Because I got hired during the beginning of covid nothing was really traditional in my hiring process so I only got one interview and got the job on the spot. But I’d give it some time and then check in with the manager :)

I did my in-person interview today and it went well. I'll get an answer by Friday as the manager has 96 other candidates, so I'm really hoping that I get the position.

I'm a regular at the local Starbucks and this Latina named Erika that works there. Not sure if she's flirty with me because she thinks its her job or because she's interested. If I ask her out and look like a fool, I probably can't show my face around there anymore. LOL.

No, we are not allowed to have them painted . I actually got in trouble on my first day for having them painted lol :(
If I show up st the interview with acrylics would they hire me .. I’ll take them off before training
I’m sure if your interview goes well they would still hire you. They’d probably just ask that you remove them before you begin training, which you said you would. So I think you’ll be fine :)
