@mattstanford9673 Boop boop! I actually kind of loved the remote control's sound. I never had a TiVO, but a children's hospital I was in as a teen randomly had one in a play area, and we messed with that thing for hours!
Robert Downey Jr. Does in fact stay in character throughout the dvd commentary only breaking from Lincoln Osiris to Kirk Lazarus when he does in scene. And of course finally at the end of the commentary he‘s RDJ.
I need to watch that commentary...

Tom Cruise had two stipulations to be in the movie. One he had to dance and two, he had to have big hands. The pile of drugs is shaped like the mountain in Close Encounters. When Tugg is shot in the first scene he is doing a scene from Platoon where Willem DaFoe is shot.

Filmed in hawaii they said it was the best set they've ever been on.. Robert Downey Jr. actually does continue to play in character. Although not in black face on the DVD commentary, check it out.
My two favourite RDJ performances are Natural Born Killers (where he plays another Australian) and A Scanner Darkly, but he's great in pretty much everything I've seen him in.
A Scanner Darkly is amazing.

Good call recommending A Scanner Darkly, an absolute trip of a movie. Based on a Philip K Dick novel and featured a loaded cast (Keanu Reeves, Woody Harrelson, Winona Ryder, RDJ), I've always been surprised that it has been overlooked and hasn't at least gained some cult classic recognition.

RDJ is an amazing actor- I loved his portrayal of Sherlock Holmes! This movie is great and Ben Stiller is also very funny- besides Zoolander and Meet the Fockers and Something about Mary, I really liked him in Night at the Museum 😊
The said there were filming in Thailand for the movie in "Entertainment tonight" spoof and the were Chinese triad gang, hence the Chinese dialect. Great film and thank for the great reaction too.
Ben Stiller doesn't get the credit he deserves from his movies. Night At the Museum (his mom has a part), Meet the Parents, Dodgeball are all great comedies worth the time.
There’s Something About Mary
His movies are genuinely funny. But I just never liked how he always plays a cringe and awkward character. He's always the one unfunny thing that's in all of his movies.
One of the greatest Comedies of all time, and also a decent Action flick here and there. Plus it has an absolutely stellar cast and one of the best soundtracks ever.
People like to say that this or that "couldn't get made these days", but in this case, it's 100% true.
Now we wait to see how long it takes our Hostess to recognize Tom Cruise (and possibly Robert Downey Jr. as well). 😉🤣 10:26 That was fast...most impressive. 👍
If you have a script as good as this, it could 100% be made today. The problem is that really good scripts are a very, very rare species these days.

The Toby McGuire MTV Best Kiss is the only real award. He got that for the Spiderman upside down kiss. Iconic scene though
Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang is another awesome Robert Downey Jr. movie that I bet you guys would love. It was one of the earlier movies he was in after his drug-addiction in-and-out of jail era. It's also quite funny, but it's more of a comedy-mystery than anything.

When they showed Ben Stiller's Simple Jack on the TV. Simple Jack and this woman was in a farm, that's Ben Stiller's wife, Christine Taylor. She has a bigger role in Zoolander (reporter) and Dodgeball (auditor).
At first, a lot of people didn't realize it was Tom Cruise, not for awhile or until the credits. Everyone was like "why is he so familiar...? Is that...? Nah... no way..?"

My mom’s husband ( old friend of the family… married her after my dad died) wax a chopper pilot in the Viet Nam war. He said that one of his goals has always been to go back there to be able to explore the beautiful country he saw from above that unfortunately was being destroyed at the time. But he was too busy being shot at as a chopper pilot to appreciate really!!! 😳😳😳🤣🤣
The best RDJr movie is called The Restoration. Also - Natural Born Killers and Less Than Zero are pretty wild.
In the scene where they are “peeing” Ben Stiller mentions slime. That is a reference to Nickelodeon Kids choice movie award tradition of dumping a green slime on the winners. The green slime originates from a show called You Can’t Do That On Television that was from Canadian broadcasting that aired on Nick in the 80’s and would slime people for saying certain words. Nick took that and made it a trademark of the network and used it on many of their programs.
'The Secret Life of Walter Mitty' is another Ben Stiller movie that was really underrated.

Cliffhanger really is a fantastic Action movie! You two are some of my absolute favourite reaction watchers. Empathetic, emotionally expressive, support and comfort each other on camera, highly intelligent and media literate. They way Quyenh picks up on Checkov’s Guns and predicts what’s coming in so many films is so impressive. I really hope you’ll do Cliffhanger, it has so many emotional payoffs.
Fun fact: when jeff is trying to find the grip with his package the guy runs off. So jeff is "chasing [the] dragon". Cute visual pun.

-Originally, the actor who played the young drug lord (he was the second actor who auditioned and they loved him) was supposed to speak Cantonese cause he is fluent in it, but later they changed it to Mandarin cause one of the writers was fluent in that.

Vietnamese sounds somewat similar to Chinese to me, but Korean sounds like Korean, and Japanese sounds like Japanese. They don't all sound the same, unless people aren't actually listening. But I've only studied Japanese (and Latin), and was raised with English.
Definitely watch Cliffhanger and Platoon. For a funny Ben Stiller movie. The Heartbreak Kid. Your gal will have a ton of fun with it.
