My piano instructor gave me this piece. He believes in me, but I feel like the more I advance the less likely I will be able to learn. I love music and piano, but, the effort is real. I know for many this piece will be easy and a beginner's piece, but it feels daunting to me. Beautiful piece though!
Don't worry, this piece was first introduced to me 6 months ago, and I still can't play it correctly! I've been practicing it seriously (30minutes a day) for the past week and I'm improving a lot!
I remember giving up on this piece earlier in my piano career, but after learning Fur Elise, Mariage D'Amour, and Chopin Waltz in A Minor, I sightread this with no effort at all.
@@huhwoah4115It’s not an overly difficult song. Learn each hand separately and slowly combine them as you learn each phrase. Play very slowly for accuracy and the speed will come naturally.
This piece is very demanding when you're first breaking into the intermediate level. The speed of this and Mvt 3 has proved a challenge to me, but I'm getting closer day by day.
I expect you all knew this already, but I found it a great help when learning this to use the settings option and play it at 75% speed. Also using the loop option enables me to play it over and over until perfected.
Oh my God how many memories when I was in the Conservatory. Thanks a lot for loading the music scores cause I don’t have the Clementi Sonatina’s book anymore!!!👍
@MarySmith you are as me ; j have all audios recorded by my father 1948-1962 ( on my phone ) ; it's was a brilliant idea that my father had to record me ; all parents should do this .
I'm learning this for my Piano 2 class and when my teacher gave me the music, I practiced it like it was a rag song and not a sonatina. Oops? Then my teacher listened to me and was like, "Martha, you have the right notes, but that's still... Very... Wrong..."
I remember playing this but more slowly in front of my fourth grade class back in early 1965. It's a beginner's piece but I never really developed my skills further.
My mom was playing this on the piano a little while ago. It sounded nice, so I figured I'd track it down on TH-cam and put it in a playlist before I ended up forgetting about it.
I remember playing his in a Sonatina/ Sonata Festival at a university when I was 12. I received an award for this piece. It is still one of my favorites that I can play by memory. 😍

Suzuki book 3 I'm pretty sure. I remember learning this a few years ago (now I'm on much harder piano stuff). Brings me back memories. Especially the middle section, I would go fortissimo and add as much emotion to it before the original C major theme returned
I was supposed to play this back in 5th grade, so I did, but, on the day when I would play it in front of the teacher, the teacher never showed up. A few years later, my parents finally told me, that my teacher, had died because of racism. 😔 RIP teacher 😔

for some reason sheet music doesn't seem as menacing when the notes are more spread out as shown in the video
You have a good point here! A more open layout does make the music easier to read...

Martha Ruth Not sure I understand your reply but thank you anyway.
The music is missing the staccatos. My music has staccatos on those first two g’s, and in other places
My music has that too!
Different music is different. Just saying. Some sheets have staccato, others don’t. Neither is ‘right’ or ‘wrong’ it’s just what the editor put.
Yeah, that depends on the editor. Oftentimes the original music from this era was written without any articulation marks
Mine too ... But, eitherway, it's the same piece ... maybe they modified it so it's much easier ... 😊
Staccato is in the style of this music/era so technically speaking there should be staccatos
