Dennis was great during that run of 9 years, but the greatest rebounder of all time is Wilt Chamberlin; Wilt's worst years in leading the league in rebounding were better than Rodman's years leading the league in rebounding, Wilt lead the league in rebounds in 11 years playing 13 years.
Dennis worked his ass off when he wanted to but he didn't always want to. And, with the possible exception of Karl Malone, there was no whinier personality in the league than Dennis Rodman. Your own video highlights it as one of his many tactical strengths. He deserves his Hall of Fame spot but he doesn't deserve the rock solid lunch pail mythos. Dennis was not stoic. Even in his prime, he required tremendous organization wide support.
To this day I maintain if Rodman wasn't with the Bulls in late 90's they most likely would not have won their championships. His defense, rebounding, athleticism, and intangibles literally filled the few holes that team had.
It's funny to see Bill Winnington talk about Rodman. He is the color commentator for the local team in Montreal and my court tickets were right next to him. Got to shake his hand but was dying to ask him for an unknown Rodman story.

@@FuShengAlex Hakeem was a great player! He wasn’t a defensive specialist he also was his teams main scorer. I don’t remember Hakeem taking over games on defense alone. @Xenophon120 Hakeem never once in his entire career had a teammate make a all nba defensive team and yet the rockets from 87-88 to 93-94 were a top 5 rated defensive team. He was Houstons heart and soul on defense he had to guard a myriad of HOF PFs and Cs in that era, protect the rim and even block away from it from time to time (see starks) and create the most turnovers, almost at the level of legendary thieves like Pippen, Jordan and Payton some times. So how did Ewing only shoot 36% in the 94 Finals? How did Robinson only manage 44% FG? Shaq led the NBA in scoring in 95 and scored a point less in the Finals vs Hakeem and forced into many turnovers. Stop making me laugh. Show me ONE time in Rodmans career when he was the only all nba defensive selection on the team? He NEVER had to CARRY a team defensively. I wouldn't take Rodman over either Robinson or Duncan either. Politics had nothing to do with it, he wasn't as impactful as Hakeem.
There is a myth about the Bad Boy Pistons that they were only about throwing you to the ground in the paint. I'm not saying this was entirely wrong at times, but it doesn't give Dumars and Rodman the credit they deserve for being incredible defenders. Rodman was a nightmare and could guard any position on the floor. And his rebounding was just stupid-good at times. He was a HOFer way before he even joined the Bulls, imo.
Ole Rodzilla would most definitely change the game today, His ability to be anywhere in the paint at any given time and guard who ever he chooses to, I mean come on u got Rudy Gobert as defensive player of year🤣🤣 that’s ridiculous. Dennis would win that outright every time.

@sideshowbobsaget8876 From an offensive point of view, you're right. Defensively, he was still a monster. Still had over 15 rebounds per game in his Bulls years. However, Rodman wasn't unwanted because of on-court performance, but because of his behavior and therefore off-court issues.

The crazy thing about his Bulls tenure was that he wasn’t an All Star. I feel like people always assume he was
He only made 2 AS reserve in Detroit.
AS game was more about showcasing offense though.
One of them video games gave Rodman his own rebound animations. Did like a split on some rebounds.
Robman was the best they will never be a defense like him ever
One of my favorite players.
Draymond vs Shaq
Shaq wins 10/10
Rodman vs Shaq I’d say 50/50 Shaq won’t win all the time but won’t lose either Rodman was a beast at 6-10
i feel like a lot of people never recognized Rodman's intelligence and thoughtful approach to the game at the time because of his quirkiness
Larry Bird was so good that he made him look like a dumb dumb
