    Dennis Rodman's basketball IQ, approach to the game, and non -stop motor were simply unmatched. He had a complete understanding of his own strengths vs. weaknesses and how to adjust with mental tactics. One of my all time favorite players.

      Oh for sure. Considering the amount of three shots taken that are often missed, he would be getting all of those rebounds.

      yes. I really don't understand that recent retiree's comment on how Dennis would not fit in today's NBA, because he doesn't shoot the 3. Today's NBA is why the league is failing (viewership wise). Need to get back to TEAM play, DEFENSEive play.

    🐐🐐 rodzilla basketball IQ was off the charts and that's why he gelled so well and quickly with the bulls..
    Normally it takes a team few seasons to find their rhythm and gell together but that 95/96 bulls and came together so quickly..
    And Rodman's addition to the team during the season break was the biggest steal in NBA trade history too..

    As a 90s kid watching the 2nd 3-Peat Bulls, I love watching Rodman, I mimicked my game after him with outrageous hustle. But my favorite time to watch him was on his B-Day, he would just go off scoring with 3-pointers, showing he's more than a rebounder. But the NBA misses his personality, no one can replicate.

  • @thesentinelsfootballchanne3212
    @thesentinelsfootballchanne3212 19 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

    Dennis Rodman is one of one. He's like an outlaw of basketball like a Johnny Cash is to country music. He's an individual. And in a time where self expression to that degree on the Chicago Bulls made him a huge media sensation, it NEVER impacted his play on the game. He was focused more on winning than the media was on his antics. Oh and it's not always about scoring that wins you rings. Dennis Rodman had a game in the finals with 9 points but 19 rebounds. 19 rebounds and then he'd pass to MJ. No wonder MJ still got respect for him. He was about winning at all costs.

    Dennis was great during that run of 9 years, but the greatest rebounder of all time is Wilt Chamberlin; Wilt's worst years in leading the league in rebounding were better than Rodman's years leading the league in rebounding, Wilt lead the league in rebounds in 11 years playing 13 years.

  • @EricKoonitsky-s1d
    @EricKoonitsky-s1d 17 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

    Dennis worked his ass off when he wanted to but he didn't always want to. And, with the possible exception of Karl Malone, there was no whinier personality in the league than Dennis Rodman. Your own video highlights it as one of his many tactical strengths. He deserves his Hall of Fame spot but he doesn't deserve the rock solid lunch pail mythos. Dennis was not stoic. Even in his prime, he required tremendous organization wide support.

      Hakeem was a great player! He wasn’t a defensive specialist he also was his teams main scorer. I don’t remember Hakeem taking over games on defense alone. Hakeem outplayed his peers at the center position.
      Rodman shut Shaq down, amazing considering size difference. He also guarded all 5 positions. He was a master at the mental game as well constantly finding a way to disrupt his opponents focus and poise.
      Rodman never won DPOY after he started dying his hair and being a thorn in NBA’s side. Not because he wasn’t the best defensive player in those years but rather the Sports writers, broadcasters, and the league office didn’t want to reward a rebellious and disruptive Rodman who’s life choices they didn’t agree with.
      Hakeem won DPOY 2 times and was 5 times all defense 1st team.
      Rodman won DPOY 2 times and was 7 time all defensive 1st team.
      Hakeem was a great player top 5 center all time but not a better defensive player than Rodman.

    • @FuShengAlex
      @FuShengAlex 16 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      @Xenophon120
      Hakeem never once in his entire career had a teammate make a all nba defensive team and yet the rockets from 87-88 to 93-94 were a top 5 rated defensive team. He was Houstons heart and soul on defense he had to guard a myriad of HOF PFs and Cs in that era, protect the rim and even block away from it from time to time (see starks) and create the most turnovers, almost at the level of legendary thieves like Pippen, Jordan and Payton some times. So how did Ewing only shoot 36% in the 94 Finals? How did Robinson only manage 44% FG? Shaq led the NBA in scoring in 95 and scored a point less in the Finals vs Hakeem and forced into many turnovers.
      Stop making me laugh. Show me ONE time in Rodmans career when he was the only all nba defensive selection on the team? He NEVER had to CARRY a team defensively.
      I wouldn't take Rodman over either Robinson or Duncan either. Politics had nothing to do with it, he wasn't as impactful as Hakeem.

    There is a myth about the Bad Boy Pistons that they were only about throwing you to the ground in the paint. I'm not saying this was entirely wrong at times, but it doesn't give Dumars and Rodman the credit they deserve for being incredible defenders. Rodman was a nightmare and could guard any position on the floor. And his rebounding was just stupid-good at times. He was a HOFer way before he even joined the Bulls, imo.

    Pierce is super wrong about Rodman not being able to play in today's game. Unlike today's players, thet all just stand at the 3pnt line with no movement just like MJ warned about.
    Rodman with his motor would get constant backdoor slips to the basket, he's not standing still like today's players. If there less athletic and less skilled Draymond can survive, Rodman would thrive with his intelligence alone.

    Paul pierce was wrong. He runs the floor. That 3 beats a 2 stuff is bs. He'd score 20 a game w 20 rebounds.

    Parrish is smoking. Michael and Scottie won 3 titles without Dennis. Dennis is great, but he's not Michael or Scottie.

    Hakeem Olajuwon was a better defender. Period. 2 time dpoy. 1 mvp. 10th all time in steals (almost 4 times the worm) and all time block shots leader. The worm and the admiral looked like children in the playoffs vs. the dream in playoffs against the dream. Your gonna sit here and tell me the North Korean sycophant Dennis Rodman is a better defender than Hakeem Olajuwon with a straight face?
