I'll have to let someone else jump in on that one. When we went, we had access to whatever we wanted because we were diamond club visitors. When we'd order drinks, the bartender would ask what type of vodka, tequila, etc... we wished to have with our drinks. When it cam to mixed frozen drinks, they'd just use whatever they had unless I asked for something special.

What about quiet spots on the beach? Also, is it hard to find beach chairs with umbrellas if you don’t do Diamond package? Thank you!
Hi and thank you very much for that! Yes, you can definitely escape the party scene throughout the day if you wish to. After a day or so you'll start noticing the patterns at the resort. Which pools fill up in the morning, which pools are empty in the afternoon, etc... There were times my wife and I would go up to the 16th floor and join the party. There were times we'd skip that and hang out in the diamond club pool because in the afternoons, that pool was on the "dead" side. Very quiet, everyone would just hang out and relax. It was a nice mix!
That's a tricky one. Royalton in Cancun is adult only. So assuming you're only going with adults, the choice between PH and Royalton isn't simple. In the end, I'd personally go for PH only because it's HUGE compared to the Royalton. Nothing against the Royalton at all. It has a way STRONGER party vibe than PH, but if I'm spending a week somewhere, I personally like a large campus to roam around on.
@@JaysDMC Perfect thanks taking my kids 19 and 21 and think PH is the way to go. Have you looked at the new Royalton Splash with the water park in Cancun?
Had this exact question. I love the looks of ph but I don’t want to feel that I’m missing out by not being in the hotel zone. A lot of people at ph were complaining about their rooms being damp and smelly so I’m torn
@@joepucillo6374 Funny you mention this. When we were originally looking at PH, the Royalton Splash was one of resorts we were seriously considering. Other than what we saw on their website and the Google images, I really don't know much about it. It looks awesome!

I've only been here once so I can't talk on how it "usually" is. I can say though, when we were there it wasn't crowded. It wasn't empty either - it was staffed accordingly, there was plenty of room to move around, and no one was on top of you. I've been to resorts that were near max capacity and it isn't fun at all. This wasn't near max capacity during our time here. So we had a blast!
That's a good question and I don't have a perfect answer. I can only tell you what I did. Our Butler (Maria) was amazing. She really went above and beyond for us. We gave her 100 US which is what we usually give.
When youre talking about the foam party, I see a bunch of 50 year olds standing around..... Nothing crazy at all. Whats median age at this hotel? 50? a couple of 30 year olds?
Diamond Club is a top tier package the Royalton offers. It's a little more but you get extras like a personal butler, top shelf alcohol, access to private pools and campus events, etc...
I'm inclined to say the answer is yes but please don't quote me on that. I remember they had their own guards on that floor that would check our wrists as we entered. They also checked bags. Security was tight up there!
@@arlenewaller1069 If you're asking if they checked bags by opening them, no. never from what I saw. As soon as we arrived they took our bags and gave us a receipt. Once we were checked in we gave that slip to the bag manager so they knew where to take our bags. but if you're concerned that they opened the bags at any time, I never saw anything like that. As far as I knew, the bags always remained shut.
there was a mix of both there. We saw tons of couples, then tons of singles all hanging out with each other and having a great time. The resort offers the best of both worlds in my opinion. The rooftop is where is gets a little crazy so more of the singles were up there hanging out with each other while the bottom floor pools were way more mellow. More couples were hanging out down there.
Hard to say exactly because we had the premium resort package which gave us 1 hr each day for spa use. So unfortunately I can't answer this one for you. Not sure what they charge for walk-ins. @@florencedavis9732 It'll be here before you know it!
That was really helpful! Thank you! I have read that this is one of the better “party resorts” in Cancun. My wife and I want to have fun, but we do want some time away from the loud music and party to relax. So, my question is are there quieter parts of the resort we can relax?
Do they have premium liquor like Patron and Hennessy?
Yes if you upgrade to the Diamond Club package you can get that along with others in certain areas and swim up bars.
How did you get a butler
When we worked with our travel agent, she offered the butler service as part of a package Royalton offers. We checked that box and has no regrets.
What was your room number? You had a beautiful view.
1145-2 which is on the 14th floor. It was pretty nice!!
Wish u could’ve gone inside the gym but great review!
Thank you.
I wanted to go in but it's hard with a camera.
would you choose the Royalton or Planet Hollywood?
@@taneshawatts6598 I wouldn't be. I've seen those comments as well and created this to answer a lot of those concerns - th-cam.com/video/G5B3Zcrw4g0/w-d-xo.html
Maybe this will help? (BTW, I never had any issues with dampness any time we visited this resort).
Is the hotel usually crowded?
I've only been here once so I can't talk on how it "usually" is. I can say though, when we were there it wasn't crowded. It wasn't empty either - it was staffed accordingly, there was plenty of room to move around, and no one was on top of you.
I've been to resorts that were near max capacity and it isn't fun at all. This wasn't near max capacity during our time here. So we had a blast!
How much should we tip our butler at the end of our stay?
That's a good question and I don't have a perfect answer. I can only tell you what I did.
Our Butler (Maria) was amazing. She really went above and beyond for us. We gave her 100 US which is what we usually give.
When youre talking about the foam party, I see a bunch of 50 year olds standing around..... Nothing crazy at all. Whats median age at this hotel? 50? a couple of 30 year olds?
Late 20s to mid 30s would be the average age group, in my opinion.
Thanks for sharing, very helpful.
You're very welcome and thanks for watching!
Is Diamond the same as Privilege?
Diamond Club is a top tier package the Royalton offers. It's a little more but you get extras like a personal butler, top shelf alcohol, access to private pools and campus events, etc...
Do you think this is a good option for singles?
Absolutely! We saw tons of singles when we were there! so many opportunities to meet new people here.
Great video!
Thank you! I appreciate that!
I rather resorts in playa , it’s none of that diamond club bs & you got access to everywhere
But I booked this resort for next week
@@Theonegrinchin it's really nice here
@@JaysDMC it’s beautiful but I just worried bout the diamond member bs . I went to ocean Rivera paradise last year and it was large and cheap asf
@@JaysDMC just the food wasn’t good on that resort .
Is the 16th floor diamond only?
I'm inclined to say the answer is yes but please don't quote me on that. I remember they had their own guards on that floor that would check our wrists as we entered. They also checked bags. Security was tight up there!
@JaysDMC Did they check bags randomly or only during check in?
@@arlenewaller1069 If you're asking if they checked bags by opening them, no. never from what I saw.
As soon as we arrived they took our bags and gave us a receipt. Once we were checked in we gave that slip to the bag manager so they knew where to take our bags.
but if you're concerned that they opened the bags at any time, I never saw anything like that. As far as I knew, the bags always remained shut.
Oh okay thanks. I saw where you said that security checked bags on the Diamond Club side
Seem like it’s better for couples or singles?
there was a mix of both there.
How much was the spa ?
Hard to say exactly because we had the premium resort package which gave us 1 hr each day for spa use. So unfortunately I can't answer this one for you. Not sure what they charge for walk-ins. I'd imagine its reasonable though as we saw people constantly coming and going through the spa. It was very nice!!!
We did have massages on the beach which cost us 300 (my wife and I) and the massage lasted 1 hr. Totally worth every penny!!!
Just came back can confirm this the best resort I Been too , didn’t even realize they had a diamond club member thingy . But it was amazing , food was great and vibes
that's great to hear! I agree, it's a great resort
Did youbhave access to rooftop withouy the diamond club?
@@niabarber6259 I was diamond club so I'm not sure. I believe you have to be diamond club in order to go up there but don't quote me on that. I could be wrong.
You do not have to be Diamond club to have rooftop access. Rooftop is open to everyone
Do you need to book Diamond club to go to the parties at the top floor pool?
No, not that I'm aware of. I believe that was open for everyone.
@@JaysDMC thankfully that’ll suck .
Have been calling this place for 3 days and no one answered
What are you trying to have taken care of? Do you have a travel agent? Your agent should have a direct line with the resort.
Awesome video. Will be going with a group of 8 couples from 35 to 55 yrs old for 5 days. My question is do you think upgrading to diamond club is worth the cost as we have a few that feel it’s not. Thanks.
