I stayed here during September did not have any issues with sunset rise/set. Also water was very calm. No smells either. I too did not like the brown boarder on patio. I love this place!
Hello! Really liked the video, nicely done! I'm planning to go there in mid of July'24. I have a question - You spoke several time about Diamond club membership. It would be really helpful if you can elaborate like whats not included in Diamond club? Like, what can I expect if I don't purchase Diamond club membership? Is it like I'll not be allowed to any specific pool or parties or anything similar.. thanks in advance!
Hell thanks for watching. As far as I could tell I really didn’t see a huge difference but this is me on the outside looking in. Biggest things were the better alcohol options and the diamond pool and beach side. “Premium” liquor all taste the same after a few tequila shots. I have heard that the staff treats people with diamond better. Also having 24 hour access to the butler is pretty neat. If you go in without DC they will try to make you upgrade. So if you’re there more than a few 4-5 days can upgrade while you’re there. I’m 100% sure you’ll have a great time without having the DC. But I know the feeling of missing out. If you have plans outside the hotel like excursions or going to Playa, Cozumel, or Isla for a day you won’t enjoy the upgrade. Hope this helps a little bit. If I were to go back I don’t feel I need the Diamond Club to have a great time.
Hi, My husband and I are planning on going to Cancun in July, we are just looking for the RIGHT Resort. This resort seems small, compared to the other resorts we’ve frequent. How is the food? What time does the bar close. Did you go off the resort? Is there a dispensary? Thank you a lot
The resort does seem small in pictures and videos since it’s in a high rise but everything in it is spread out and doesn’t feel crammed. Once you get there you’ll see how truly big it is. Food was good. The specialty restaurant were really good. The buffet has plenty of options but depending on how long your staying it will get old. Room service is simple but decent. You’ll find alcohol all day. They spot serving at 2am I believe at the club. Not sure about dispensaries sorry. You’ll be a 10 min walk from the hotel zone which is great. I took a day trip to isla mujeres, I highly recommend that it’s so much fun. Vacation within a vacation.
I had written on the last video so after going there was def some pros and cons I went from Oct 27-Nov 1 Pros- the room was nice decent, the butler we had was nice and very attentive, we had a beach view my friend and I and enjoyed it. The halloween party was fun. My room was always clean which I loved. The staff was very friendly. I liked the gym too, it was nice to work out and see the beach from the treadmills. The entertainment was fun too, they had some cool performances. Cons- what kind of all inclusive resort has a pool that closes at 7pm?? that was ridiculous even for weekends. The food was super americanized and not the best, I was surprised the mexican food out there was not better. Ive been to mexico over 7 times and that was really not the best food. The room service menu was super limited too. I also didnt like that you couldnt take any of the food with you back to your room from any of the restaurants, or order it to your room. Also the drinks were SUPER watered down even in Diamond Club which my group was in. I would have like 7+ drinks and never got drunk at all. Overall it wasnt a horrible stay, but I will say I dont think it was much of a difference in diamond club vs regular from what I saw. In fact I didnt understand how the Diamond Club pool was honestly not as good as the Regular pool.
I agree the pools should be open at night. The food can seem bland at times thats why I recommend people leave the resort and try the local spots. To go orders at the restaurants would be a game changer. I always have trouble catching a good buzz when im at a cancun resort I think it might be because of the humidity. I like both pools, the regular seemed like more of the party pool and dc was a bit more calm pool. Would you stay here again?
My wife and I went for my birthday July 2021. It was awesome! Diamond club. They really had the best service. Shout out to Ingrid, my server on the beach. I agree with you on the pro's and cons. I didn't like that brown box around the balcony. It definitely obstructed the view. I was on the 15th floor. It was still a great view though. There was a LOT of seaweed a few of the days so the beach was not all that appealing. It was so much it made the water look brown instead of the turquoise you would expect. It felt like it was scratching my legs when I got in it AND it was rough surf so they had yellow flags up most of the time. Only one or two days out of 5 the water was clearer. We were "all the way up" for my birthday. First on the beach, and then the rooftop pool. First they gave me a birthday cake and champagne on the beach. They had balloons and all that on the beach cabana. They made a mistake on my birthday though. We had made a reservation for one of those regular rooftop cabanas the day before but the day of my birthday we got to the rooftop and found out they had given my cabana to another group. I was VERY upset at first because they were trying to give us one of those little loungers with a table and umbrella over it, I was like, "How y'all gonna mess up my birthday like that???" They made up for it by giving us a better one. And I found out they gave it to some people we knew and were friends with already so I was ok with it, they booked theirs when we told them about ours. They booked theirs later than we did but they gave ours to them by mistake. They acknowledged their mistake and took care of me. We were upgraded to one of those cabana's with the TV and jacuzzi tub in front of it. I would have probably opted for the "Level 18" cabana but the one with the TV and Jacuzzi was better in my opinion. The food was excellent, drinks were good and strong, (I bought the whole tequila bottles) the only con was the upcharge for certain menu items. I had a Tomahawk steak for my birthday dinner but I had to pay extra for it. Just that was worth it though. Keep in mind Marriott now owns the Royalton hotels so the service may start to decline at their resorts. That's how those big corporations do. They don't care as long as they get your money. I'm hearing it now from a family member that stayed at the Royalton in Punta Cana this past week. She had a bad experience.
Thank you for this video. My fiance and I are about to go in July and looking forward to the stay. I was curious about transportation to the hotel. Did you do it directly through the hotel or a third party?
How exciting!!! At the time I went the hotel did not provide transportation so we got a third party. So definitely do some research and have it scheduled before you arrive.
They host different activities the whole day. Yoga, water aerobics, dance contest, volleyball, fitness relay games. They have different things each day. Entertainment wise in the evening they'll have live music, dancers, silent disco(so much fun), and variety shows. After that theyll have a dj/night club, great for dancing and people watching.
@@lifeofbear9115 do these activities take up the non-diamond club pool? if so, then isnt the rest of the pool crammed with people who don't wanna be apart of the activities?
I personally didn’t think it was worth it. I see people now mention the personal butler was great but when I was there ours was a digital butler. We never got to see our face to face. Also depending on how long you are staying you can alway upgrade to diamond when you’re there. Let say 4 days try two regular then upgrade the last two. Pool and beach wise I wouldn’t say it worth the upgrade. The servers were pretty attentive on both sides.
I don't have a particular tipping system. I usually tip at the beginning and end. But a $1 per drink/round is common. The staff does appreciate the tips.
It is an extra fee per person per night. I’ve heard different rates so I wouldn’t wanna say a number and steer you the wrong way. There is a group on Facebook that is up to date and very helpful. New royalton chic suites Cancun travelers page.
It's a mixed bag. Something's are a hit and are a miss. Plenty of options tho, unless you're staying for a long time, everything does get repetitive after a while. Steak place, Italian spot, and pizza window where my favorite.
Thanks so much for this review! I have stayed at a few Royalton Resorts *(Riviera Maya, St. Lucia and their other Boutique Hotel CHIC Punta Cana) and have had Nothing but, PLEASANT / GREAT experiences at each!! They have EXCELLENT SERIVCE -- I Will definitely have to add this one to my list. :-)
I just left that hotel coupe days ago , it was beautiful I had a sun set view wish we got a beach view , everything was great but the food was horrible room service the food at the buffet and the Asian restaurant was all nasty ! My butler was great we got to meet in person . Hotel is dope , we didn’t get greeted with drinks because we got there late at night . Diamond club is a must
I like the thought of room service but it never arrived as a hot meal. We went to the buffet once for breakfast and once for lunch. We usually got out of the hotel for breakfast and lunch. Overall great place I would love to go back.
Rius give on more of a resort feel to some of their properties. Chic is all in one building which is convenient. Everything is an elevator ride away. Got with your gut
Cancun looks like a beautiful region, also this Hotel, but in my view its not natural enough, all these huge hotels at the beach look more like a City then a natural beach feeling, so because of that probably when I will go to Mexico for Holiday I will go more south to Playa del Carmen, there are also wonderful Hotels and the beach is very natural with all these palms and nature.
@@lifeofbear9115 thank you very much :) I will check it, yes Tulum is very far away from airport, I would go there only via daily trip for visiting the Tulum Maya Temple.

I totally agree with the humidity in the room! The towels feel damp and even the blankets and pillows felt a bit damp. I didn’t sleep too well
Yeah had to adjust to that a bit.
Be sure to pack Damprid to help with moisture in the rooms
Thank you for sharing everything. You did extremely well. Great info on your pros and cons. Very helpful :)

Service was fantastic.
