VAILSKIBUM!! I found out who soos dad is from GRAVITY FALLS!! I’m gonna cut straight to the point. Soos dad is a mermaid. Yes, i said that right. Also soos dad is the son of Mermando from (s1 e15 the deep end). How did I find this out you may ask. Well have you notice in the series Gravity Falls there is only 2 confirmed Mexican families in gravity falls which is Soos Ramirez and his grand mother and papa & Mermando and his family.(S2 e08 Soos past) we know soos dad can’t make it to soos party every year. The reason why you may ask? Well the reason is because soos dad is a mermaid and he can’t travel all the way Oregon with keeping in close contact with water to breathe. So soos dad then has to settle out for new life and a new family. While of course still staying in contact with soos. So soos dad sends Soos postcards. The post cards are from Texas, Massachusetts, New Orleans (Louisiana), New York , Arizona. What do all of those states have in common? They are all on the coast where plenty of water is. “coincidence?” I say not.More proof (s2 e19 Escape from Reality) In Mabels bubble everything can come true. So Mabel gives soos the dream of his life, to go play catch with his dad. But, soos dad was only an imaginational figure of what Mabel thought he looked like. And soos dad face was covered up by a mask. But , also in (s1 e15 the deep end) we get a glance at Mermando dad (also soos dad) from Mermando own imagination we get a glance at his dad ,but his face is also covered by hair . “(Coincidence?)” I say not.
I honestly agree with this video. Well, I especially agree with the part where you stated the fans just built all of this hype as Future progressed. Yeah, honestly, I was surprised to see the Corrupted Steven when the Intro was shown, but I didn’t build an impossible standard to it, and when I watched the episode, I was just happy about it, both seeing Corrupted Steven and how it was resolved. I didn’t wanna believe it, but as happy (and tearful) I was seeing the end of the episode, I will admit that it was interesting(?) how it was one episode, but, as said yourself, the Crewniverse only had 20 episodes to work with, so it was reasonable. Honestly, my opinion of “I Am My Monster” and Corrupted Steven, I don’t really find it extremely underwhelming, I enjoyed it for how it was, even if it was the second last episode.
They were too ez on Steven. They were building up on this from the beginning of future so it's really disappointing. I don't mind them not fighting Steven but the pacing was off. The scene with everyone crying just ticked me off even more
The scene to where they're a crying and shouting out saying "it's all my fault" like Steven did when he was a kid is a sign of pure selfishness and personal gain. Sure it would get them to know that it is their fault, but at the same time blaming themselves doesn't help at all. I actually feel like during that episode, Steven should've gone way too far on them because they tried to murder him for no absolute reason. We do see Pink as the villain of the series but Rebecca said that there is no true villain after Steven Universe The Movie. But in my perspective, I would prefer that Steven crushes the Diamonds and Spinel because that would give a sign of how terrible his pain really is.
In my opinion it wasn't underwhelming. There wasn't some big fight because it was Steven, they couldn't bring themselves to fight him, and it wasn't the hug that solved his corruption, it was his own healing tears. Steven universe future was about Steven feeling everyone was leaving him, the hug showed him that they weren't going anywhere and that they cared about Steven even in his mental breakdown; allowing Steven to forgive and heal himself. But thank god that boy has a therapist now.
I'll be honest... I loved every second of the final two episodes. It was animated beautifully, the build-up was great, and it was just explosive enough to meet my tastes. And it hit me right in the feels. I know it seems lazy for him to turn back to normal with some hugs, but dangit, it made me tear up. In my opinion, I couldn't have wished for a better ending
Hmm, let's see the tally up: 1. They completely skipped the transformation sequence that was hyped up over the portion of the show. 2.All Steven did as a Kaiju was flop his body on random things like a drunk Magikarp. 3. They didn't even show off any of his corrupt powers, only a shockwave! 4.He was quelled by a *Hug* of all things! 5. Did I mention that they abruptly skipped what would have been an awesome transformation?
"They were only given 20 episodes! They didn't have enough time" Then why make episodes presenting new concepts and characters? Like Bluebird? Bismuth and Pearl dating? The Lapises? Jasper? They wasted most episodes with filler and pointless stuff. Also, it's terrible they solved his PTSD' with a _hug,_ a simple _hug._ People wipe off this show's flaws way too much it's ridiculous.
It wasn't solved with a hug (maybe he was un-corrupted because of the tears and the water). The hug was simbolic, it shows that his family want to help him and supports him. He still goes to terapy, anyways, so he still have problems, but we can rest knowing that our boy is going to terapy and searching for his own future. It is true that they should make more episodes explaining some things, nothing is perfect, but I think it was nice
@@55alegria PTSD doesn't work like that. And for all that matters, it was solved with a hug. Having a single line revealing he's going to therapy off-screen doesn't change that.
@@Quinhala11 I don't know how PTSD works... I only that sometimes, when you burn yourself and believe that you don't deserve to life because you are a useless to society, feeling that you are not alone prevents you of commit suicide...
valisk: "i do think it felt relatively rushed given the build up, but the crew-niverse didn't have much of a choice either. They used every episode in this limited epilogue series to tell a new story, or to tie up loose ends with different characters. If corrupted steven had ended up lasting longer, that would actually take away from the closure of other beach city residents" yes cause we definatly needed that fake PSA episode 6 from sunstone and we DEFINATLY needed to know what the hell happened to sadie's fucking band
At first, I was also disappointed. Than I realized 1, it wasn’t about beating the villain, it was saving the hero. Two, they can’t bring themselves to hurt Steven. And finally 3, he felt he was a monster, all of his loved ones fighting him would probably just make it worse. I 100% understand if you think different though.
It felt soooo rushed, and I just wish the corruption for Steven would have at least lasted longer, just a slow transformation built up over 3 episodes. I just wanted A transformation, I was so excited for that :'D. The show was great, and so was the ending.....but after all the hype and buildup.....the corruption was kinda disappointing, and in that aspect, I was left unsatisfied.
@@phophir4041 For me SVTFOE felt rushed in the final season and the ending was confusing, not saying it's terrible but it could've been better, but I was fine with Steven Universe Future finale
Vailskibum:"Pretty much every enemy Steven's faced is redeemed through a song or something else peaceful" Jasper's final step of redemption: Getting shattered and brought back to life
me either, i felt like it was extremely rushed and the hug scene just felt like ex machina ( a character or thing that suddenly enters the story in a novel, play, movie, etc., and solves a problem that had previously seemed impossible to solve.)
I'll be honest. When I was watching this I thought of HISHE lego batman when all thr superheros show up and save the day and batman complain about it. Just imagine that happening in Steven Universe.
Honestly I wanted something to happen. I wanted something to come out of this, something long lasting. A final lesson that not everything can be solved by talking it out, almost like we thought would happen with white diamond at the end on OG Steven Universe. This needed to be a battle that changed things. Or maybe even Steven could’ve been the ultimate villain. After all that he was put through because of Pink, he has reached a point of no return and the ones who led him to this in some way would be punished. It could’ve still ended with Steven being uncorrupted but there needed to be some impact.
That wasn't the point. If you were expecting some huge fight, then you missed the entire point of Future. Steven was in need of help, why would fighting him in his monster state help him? The gems realized this and decided to give Steven what he needed, support and affection reassuring that they'll always be here for him. That was the point of Future, "things may change but you still have people you can count on".
Chicken Stripz I understand that that was the point that they were trying to get across I’m just saying had they went for a different message that’s what should’ve happened
Jay15951 yeah I get the point that violence isn’t always the answer to every problem but I wanted there to be a point where they couldn’t talk out a problem and had to do things differently
I think what the should of done is a 2 parter of I am my monster. but with the next episode they could gone half and half and still be able to say good bye to every one with a song in the back ground like how they did in change your mind ending to like give everyone a satisfying ending
YES IT WAS EXTREMELY UNDERWHELMING Saberspark brought up that the resolution was similar to a resolution of an MLPFIM episode. The rushed resolution makes me wish that sometimes the episodes from regular SU that felt rushed were 20 minutes instead of 11, but the best/most emotional part of the episode was seeing him break down in tears at the end 🥺🥺
To be honest Vailskibum94, I feel like "I am my monster" was underwhelming. The episode wasn't that intense because Steven literally didn't go hardcore enough like how the Cluster, the Diamonds, and Spinel did. In my perspective, I would definitely think that the episode would've been awesome if he poofed them because that will show a sign of how much pain Steven is in.
ok here’s my point of view. steven universe future was amazing, the story itself includes how steven was after all of his early trauma, and i liked that part. but they did legit 10 episode of pure nothing, the firsts episodes didn’t give anything at all. ofc they had to explain like all the things with the new gems etc, but they left untold stories and plots, like aquamarine and eyeball, they had potential to really start something more. and everything just was going good when steven shattered jasper, i thought that was like legit the thing that made steven corrupt in the first place, but they took out the importance of shattering by steven healing jasper. i understand it’s a kids show but cmon, let’s admit it, most of the su fandom aren’t kids, so seeing him shattering someone would’ve been just amazing. and just taking off the importance of such important characters like spinel, she just appeared legit 2 in all the series, and it was just so unnecessary to bring her like nothing happened. the corruption should’ve been happening since he returned to his home, should’ve been a slow process, and concentrate more on that aspect, since that’s the exact thing everyone wanted from the start. they could’ve made that in the 20 episodes, but they made a lot of filled episodes, unsolved plots, no explanations at all, that kinda made suf flop. again i get it, it’s a kids show, but they could’ve make it better. still, i’m glad they gave us an explanation of how steven was not good after all of the trauma. overall, it was great, but it was too filled with unnecessary and unsolved things that just made it entirely pointless, but i’m glad they gave us at least something considering the situation
NO. They didn't use any sort of emotional payoff, no original songs, no emotional scenes, it was filled with so many jokes. If you cried then you've attached your soul to this cartoon. It's a happy ending not emotional
IMO in terms of substance, Steven Universe was pretty underwhelming. It focused more on feelings than the world it was building more than i would've liked. Also Emerald was a throwaway character, which is a shame.
That wasn't the point of Steven Universe Future, it wasn't made to establish another giant threat. It was about Steven's mental health and showing that things may change but you still have people you can count on.
I was pretty disappointed with the ending I was hoping that maybe Steven would get to be a main villain and the gems would have to find a way to get him back to normal of the course of different episodes but they just thought “maybe he wants a hug yeah that will fix all Stevens problems”which was a big let down for me I mean sure it was a nice ending but maybe it should have taken longer to find out how to get to that conclusion of giving him a hug but for how much time was left in the show it’s an ok ending
That epsiode where Steven turns into Corrupted Steven but turns back into his normal self again was so touching. It was devasting and crazy. Especially The Finale where he left Beach City. Smh.....I was numb by that as well.
I honestly would have preferred seeing that actual transformation into in corruption. Instead it went straight to black. I mean he’s not a monster, it would make more sense if he actually shattered Jasper. THATS monstrous.
Speaking as some one who suffered from an anger management, and would fly into a rage and attack evreyone around him. Sometimes the best fix for the situation is to have a large amount of people pin you down and hold you there until someone can talk you back to your senses.
I’m gonna agree with the fact that the crew couldn’t go all out with the corrupted Stephen destruction of everything and had to tone the fighting down a bit and were given a limited amount of episodes to work on
Yes the whole ending was a bit underwhelming to me like ngl I’m still kinda confused why future even became a thing yeah it had like two or three good episodes but like idk it was meant to answer plot wholes and all that in Steven universe and what actually happens to them after the diamonds and basically nothing much I know Steven being depressed is realistic and I like that idea but how why did we focus on it so much especially the way they just hug him and it’s done I mean like imagine an arc in dragon ball where gokus going depression like who would like to see that ngl idk I’m really not satisfied with this ending
1:55/1:56 This is no excuse for episodes like A very special episode or Bluebird! It's like Star vs season 4 too much pointless episodes instead of using the time to make the best of the situation!
I think it was. It was the SERIES FINALE, and Steven turned into a giant monster of stress, which is emotional and awesome, but then... it ended. The battle lasted a very short amount of time, and it ended with a hug. There were be sacrifices, it was just kinda... lame. Sorry
Future was a let down and I don’t think it being an epilogue is a valid excuse. SUF was a full season of television and it deserves to be compared with the series proper.
It wasn't pointless or filler. These were send off episodes for the characters we got to know in the series. While building up Steven's unease that everyone is leaving.

If you're looking for what people where expecting then look back at S1s ending. Steven Universe used to be good at payoff, we spend an entire season with Steven's mental problems and it is solved by a hug and an offscreen timeskip. We never get to see Steven go to therapy. Nothing pays off
Laiser 👏🏾EXACTLY👏🏾 DO YOU KNOW PISSED I WAS WHEN I SAW THAT EPISODE

L S R Yeah, and it’s a sad, unending cycle.
I didn't really care about Steven Universe, but when I watched a few episodes during the Every Steven Ever marathon, I started really enjoying it.
@@SeanAlegator yeh it's just really annoying
[I was surprised I wasn't there]
You should've been, it was intense.
Hmm, let's see the tally up:
They didn't have enough time"
Then why make episodes presenting new concepts and characters? Like Bluebird? Bismuth and Pearl dating? The Lapises? Jasper?
They wasted most episodes with filler and pointless stuff.
Also, it's terrible they solved his PTSD' with a _hug,_ a simple _hug._
People wipe off this show's flaws way too much it's ridiculous.
Again, you have to remember that Steven universe future was just a bonus. Steven universe could've just ended after the movie.
@@Pastelagain
And what?
@@55alegria
PTSD doesn't work like that.
It would’ve been way more cool if they didn’t bring out the tiger.
😂😂😂
Steven: Gets corrupted
Connie: Ight, imma fix everything
Chrystal Gems: Uses Power Of hugs
Barney: Am I a joke to you?
valisk: "i do think it felt relatively rushed given the build up, but the crew-niverse didn't have much of a choice either. They used every episode in this limited epilogue series to tell a new story, or to tie up loose ends with different characters. If corrupted steven had ended up lasting longer, that would actually take away from the closure of other beach city residents"
yes cause we definatly needed that fake PSA episode 6 from sunstone and we DEFINATLY needed to know what the hell happened to sadie's fucking band
Novic Don’t forget about Bluebird! That was the second most useless episode.

@@phantomshadow4289 Star also committed mass genocide in the entire universe
It wasn't just a hug that healed Steven. Everyone was there for him instead of Steven being there for them.
Episode 11-20 were a big letdown for me. They still had a few plot points in the the show they never brought back up.
Episode 16 was good
I hate how they continued to blame Pink Diamond for others problems but the other Diamonds got little to no flak for what they did
@@travisprescott9708 that was in the beginning of future
He said episode 11-20
Like what?
Bismuth casual was weird. Bismuth's crush on pearl came out of nowhere and wasn't brought up again
Vailskibum:"Pretty much every enemy Steven's faced is redeemed through a song or something else peaceful"
Jasper's final step of redemption: Getting shattered and brought back to life
I didn’t really like the ending
me either, i felt like it was extremely rushed and the hug scene just felt like ex machina ( a character or thing that suddenly enters the story in a novel, play, movie, etc., and solves a problem that had previously seemed impossible to solve.)
Ikr! The ending is pure booty cheeks.
I think *the future* was great but i don't really like *I am my monster* it was too rushed and what was the point of the diamonds new power
NullThiti yeah that was more of the problem but it was just a extra series.
There's a million other shows that have their problems being solved through violence. And precious few that have problems being solved without
Jay15951 yeah I get the point that violence isn’t always the answer to every problem but I wanted there to be a point where they couldn’t talk out a problem and had to do things differently
@@zombieman34 I'd reccomend avatar the last airbender if you want that kind of story
I don’t think it was rushed I think it went perfectly. They did this because the show is about you can solve problems without fighting.
2:48.... what about bismith...
*leave my Steven alone...*
You go spinel
I think what the should of done is a 2 parter of I am my monster. but with the next episode they could gone half and half and still be able to say good bye to every one with a song in the back ground like how they did in change your mind ending to like give everyone a satisfying ending
I honestly think everything after the Pink Diamond reveal was rushed and disappointing to some degree
I love how the “broken excercise radio” gag stuck with until the end
Tbh, it was a missed opportunity to have Steven destroy little homeworld/homeschool just like bluebird asked.
YES IT WAS EXTREMELY UNDERWHELMING
Saberspark brought up that the resolution was similar to a resolution of an MLPFIM episode.
Ikr!
ok here’s my point of view.
steven universe future was amazing, the story itself includes how steven was after all of his early trauma, and i liked that part.
but they did legit 10 episode of pure nothing, the firsts episodes didn’t give anything at all. ofc they had to explain like all the things with the new gems etc, but they left untold stories and plots, like aquamarine and eyeball, they had potential to really start something more.
and everything just was going good when steven shattered jasper, i thought that was like legit the thing that made steven corrupt in the first place, but they took out the importance of shattering by steven healing jasper. i understand it’s a kids show but cmon, let’s admit it, most of the su fandom aren’t kids, so seeing him shattering someone would’ve been just amazing.
and just taking off the importance of such important characters like spinel, she just appeared legit 2 in all the series, and it was just so unnecessary to bring her like nothing happened.
the corruption should’ve been happening since he returned to his home, should’ve been a slow process, and concentrate more on that aspect, since that’s the exact thing everyone wanted from the start. they could’ve made that in the 20 episodes, but they made a lot of filled episodes, unsolved plots, no explanations at all, that kinda made suf flop.
again i get it, it’s a kids show, but they could’ve make it better.
still, i’m glad they gave us an explanation of how steven was not good after all of the trauma.
overall, it was great, but it was too filled with unnecessary and unsolved things that just made it entirely pointless, but i’m glad they gave us at least something considering the situation
I would have been more shocked by his corruption if it wasn't leaked two months prior.
yes
Ur first congratulationS
Your first good job
Okay be honest... you cried during the end of episode 20
Didnt
I didn't I lol and this was my favorite show I cried and the end of change you're mide
Nope
NO. They didn't use any sort of emotional payoff, no original songs, no emotional scenes, it was filled with so many jokes. If you cried then you've attached your soul to this cartoon. It's a happy ending not emotional
Sorry not I am my monster. The final episode where they say goodbye
IMO in terms of substance, Steven Universe was pretty underwhelming. It focused more on feelings than the world it was building more than i would've liked. Also Emerald was a throwaway character, which is a shame.
They should've just ended it at Change Your Mind. There was no way they were gonna top a threat as big as White Diamond.
*Oh yes, VERY underwhelming.*
It wasn’t just a hug they admitted how the all helped them. And made him feel emotional and cry so it healed him I think it was a great ending 😄
*Infinity Train* is literally the only good show on Cartoon Network now
For now at least
Mao Mao?
Shouldn't Steve be half human half monster like now jasper since he is half human half gem.
Me personally was hyped up for the corruption happening but when it finally happened it felt to rushed I agree with that
And it was underwhelming
They should've done no filler episodes, though some were good. We dont even know what happened to cactus Steven or Bluebird!
What ever happened to that drake and josh reboot?
Yes. The answer is yes
@ 2:15 Is Blue Diamond legit naurto running!?
Speaking as some one who suffered from an anger management, and would fly into a rage and attack evreyone around him.
Sometimes the best fix for the situation is to have a large amount of people pin you down and hold you there until someone can talk you back to your senses.
Yes. Very disappointing.
Sure it might have been rushed but the was meaning full to him because he helped everyone then they help him
1:55/1:56
This is no excuse for episodes like A very special episode or Bluebird!
It's like Star vs season 4 too much pointless episodes instead of using the time to make the best of the situation!
I was expecting the whole episode to happen that way but it felt underwhelming when I actually saw it happen
I wanted a longer corruption episode and him destroying stuff
That's the power this show has.
I think it felt rushed and I thought someone would get hurt not just Steven roaring
I think it was. It was the SERIES FINALE, and Steven turned into a giant monster of stress, which is emotional and awesome, but then... it ended. The battle lasted a very short amount of time, and it ended with a hug. There were be sacrifices, it was just kinda... lame. Sorry
true
Future was a let down and I don’t think it being an epilogue is a valid excuse. SUF was a full season of television and it deserves to be compared with the series proper.
I hated it. It should’ve been drawn out over 2 episodes. All the suspension put to wrong use.
1:55 - 1:58 And they were wasted on pointless filler instead of ACTUALLY developing the plot.
It wasn't pointless or filler. These were send off episodes for the characters we got to know in the series. While building up Steven's unease that everyone is leaving.
Yes
Eh, it was better than the last part of Diamond days
HeY VaIl
The whole show is underwhelming.
Its sad that we didn't get to see steven being corrupted
I do think that it should’ve just been a solid hour long thing. No commercials. That would’ve been enough.
DUDE is that OxenFree music in the background I hear?!
I hate how predictable it was...
