Puberty doesn't necessarily come with depression, you do realize that right? It just a major accompanying factor to it. You could be going through puberty rn and be bloody livid. While others don't have that benefit. I personally think steven universe is good at representing alot of stuff, though not perfect. it tells what it needs to tell. It has a message. While you were close, I would definitely say that it is not depression. It’s more like borderline personality disorder. His fear of abandonment and the intense mood swings as well as social isolation, a lack of self restraint, and risky behaviour( like challenging jasper and training with her and proposing to conie)are all clear symptoms of bpd the best example of this is graduation and the episode where Steven trains with jasper these really highlighted the behaviour behind bpd and the genuinely terrifying feeling of feeling like a monster when you finally open up about it. One main problem with this is the media’s representation of it. Media portrays people who suffer from bpd as monsters and killers but it’s couldn’t be more wrong, studies have shown that bpd subject are far less likely to be violent than a subject that is not suffering from bpd, they have been through things and they don’t want anyone else to suffer from it. That is why Steven universe is the perfectly imperfect example of bpd
Steven universe future has used every almost popular fan theory we made it’s getting really predictable... Hopefully Steven doesn’t get corrupted or that just proves they used fan plot lines then their own

The theory started off small with the whole oh the worm is pink and all that but it got slowly popular as the villains were being picked off one by one of being in a episode

What I mean is he's purposefully looking for problems to fix, when he should actually be focusing on trying to keep calm and stable. But just like Batman; Steven feels that if he drops his guard, people will get hurt or he'll be "betraying everything he stands for"

i’m happy that steven universe is dropping together forever and growing pains today, but I’m sad that my school is shutting down for coronavirus, and I don’t get to see my friends for 6 weeks. Me and steven both feel distant from people we are close to now 😔
