WARNING: EXTREMELY LONG COMMENT HERE! READ AT YOUR OWN RISK... Here we go... Spartan candidates were never sent into space (all of them). Some may have been resuscitated as Halsey mentioned in her journal about the Bone Ossification Reversal (one of the augmentation procedures). Some may have even come back into service such as Kirk-018 and René-081, maybe even Cassandra-075 when she was at the M25L-Recovery Station. We did see Red Team, a previous team of Spartan “wash-outs”, come back into service as full Spartans. Those being Jerome-092, Douglas-042 and Alice-130. However, some Spartans actually never became “full” Spartans as their bodies may have not been in good condition for the Mjolnir MK-IV Armour but still had sharp minds, such as the likes of Fhajad-084; mentioned by Lieutenant Jacob Keyes of the UNSC Destroyer Iroquois (the Keyes Loop to be precise). SPARTAN-084 worked at a desk job at ONI but published a book about Slipspace physics and it’s used in combat against the enemy, in this case the Covenant. Of course some, such as SPARTAN-073 couldn’t be revived as “easily” as some others were but that still made an exception for their possible resuscitation back into their normal lives. Some apparent Spartans were protégés to some ONI admirals such as Serin-019, or better known as Serin Osman who was basically the successor of Margaret Parangosky, an admiral during Serin Osman’s training as a Spartan. Just remember that not all Spartans, in fact none of them, were thrown out into space after their apparent deaths in the augmentation procedures. The scene seen both in the book and film of Fall Of Reach shows that they were closed-casket funerals meaning that they, the Spartans, couldn’t determine if there were actual bodies in the pods or not. Halsey states that she may be able to resuscitate the majority 70%, correct me if I’m wrong, of the “dead” Spartans; some of whom may be in service without our knowledge prior to 2553. Correct me about this if I’m wrong about any of this.
Sickage [GD] your absolutely right. Some members of red team are actually resuscitated spartans. They can not be shown to the rest of the Spartan group because this would affect them horribly.
Biak Skull Didn’t Halsey state in her journal that she found a way to reverse the Bone Ossification side-effects for some of the Spartans (like Kirk-018 and René-081)
Spartans never die, they are only missing in action. Halo 4 be like "spartan john 117 died in action due to a nuclear detonation." BRO YOU HIGH?!?!?!?!?
Well, to me I thought the real meaning to "Spartans never die" is, Spartans will always keep fighting even if they're dying and when they die, they died fighting. So basically, I think they mean the spirit of Spartans never die. Like, Noble 6, he completed his mission and never died but after completing a mission Noble 6 decided to stay behind to keep fighting so to the military, a Spartan is MIA after a completed mission. I think that's what they mean. No Spartan has ever died during a mission.
Imagine how crushed people would feel when they learn spartans die. Imagine a child, looking up to the Spartans and seeing them as the defenders of humanity, enlisting into the UNSC Marines and being deployed to reach, only to see spartans being killed by the dozens Imagine how hopeless that could make them feel.
What'd be dope is if in halo 6, halo 3 music starts playing and over the horizon we see every spartan that ever fell in battle start walking towards the battle and all of them in unison say "spartans never die"
I'd love to see 343 throw John into some social situations (even if it's just hangin' with the rest of the team between missions). Just to show the player how fucked up he is and how much of his humanity he sacrificed by having no childhood, then fighting non-stop for 25+ years.
It would’ve been awesome if after sacrificing yourself at the end of halo reach it doesn’t show you die and you get to have a cameo appearance with the armor you customized in a Easter egg in the later halos
Master Chief already had a funeral in halo 3. Why does everyone forget that scene?!? Wtf! Halo right now has too much focus on emotion to the point where it's laughable so no. We don't need to focus on Spartans death unless it was the master chief.
BiteSizeTuna I feel like a lot of the people who get so attached to noble team have a very narrow selection of games they play because there are so many other games with much better characters that people can get attached to.
For some maybe, but I think it's just the nostalgia that's getting to them. In my opinion, the only games that had the best character development in the halo franchise were halo 2 (Arbiter and Tarturus)and halo wars 2(Isabel).
BiteSizeTuna yeah halo 2 arbiter had a huge arc while Tartarus was a pretty good representation of the blind worship of the covenant. The cutscene where they both talk at the end was a good full circle moment. Isabel was also a good character for how real of a person she acted.
3:23 - 3:45 all i could picture is something playing out like this *marines* see the master chief "sir we thought you were dead" *chief* "I died weeks ago"
I must say that Luke the Notable made a good theory about Noble Six surviveing If you guys haven't seen it go watch it. It gives hope that after ending this thing called main halo storyline from 343 we might get a new Noble Six spinoff
The Spartan suit could delay life threatening injuries? Did Noble 6 have this special suit? Whether or not he does it really doesn't feel right for him to die he seems/seemed like an important enough character too keep alive. Definitely my favourite Spartan tell me if you agree
CRZYx THOMAS c'mon Halo follower said it's not true Noble 6 died so it's not even true Chief was missing in Action yes but Noble 6 was spartan and he clearly died
Yes if you have read First Strike (if i remember right) you would know the whole planet wasnt glassed. It was mainly the poles that were and there was a small portion toward the middle untouched.
I don't know if this has been mentioned, but in Halo:New Blood, Buck actually touches on what happens to the remains of Spartan IVs. It's only a few lines, but I believe that it says Spartan remains are so riddled with augmented components that those components have to be extracted and are recycled
His countdown timer blinked at him: "0:00." He exhaled. The rift was closed. Kurt opened his team roster-subheading status-and moved Will, SPARTAN-043; Dante, SPARTAN-G188; and Holly, SPARTAN-G003 to the missing-in-action column, adhering to the tradition of never listing a fallen Spartan as "killed in action." Kurt then highlighted Lieutenant Commandeer Kurt Ambrose… and moved that name to the MIA list as well-next to Kurt, SPARTAN-051. The room started to spin. His mouth went dry He tried to swallow. Couldn't. His vision doubled and he thought he saw Tom and Lucy come back to get him… but it wasn't them. It was Shane, Robert, and Jane from Team Wolf Pack. There were hundreds of Spartans with him on the platform- from Alpha and Beta Companies, Dante, Holly, Will, and even Sam… all ready to fight and win this last battle with him. Hallucination? Maybe. It was nonetheless welcome. The ghostly Spartans nodded, and gave him the thumbs-up "can-do" signal. Kurt wouldn't let them down. All he had to do was single-handedly stop a Covenant army. One last impossible mission… the short definition of any Spartan. It was the least he owed them. The Fleet Master Elite snarled at Kurt, and the translation filtered through his helmet's speaker: "One last fight, demon. You will die and we shall reopen the silver path." "Die?" Kurt laughed. "Didn't you know?" he told the Elite. "… Spartans never die." Kurt turned his gauntlet face-up and pressed the detonator.
I imagine blowing up the spartan suit is kind of equivalent to a child flipping the checker board over after they lost. "now we both lose!"

Juan Lopes Her journal...
She found a way to resuscitate Spartans suffering from the Bone Ossification Augmentation.
Sickage [GD] your absolutely right. Some members of red team are actually resuscitated spartans. They can not be shown to the rest of the Spartan group because this would affect them horribly.
"Are their funerals?" Good description
The whole "we commit our dead to space" bit bothers me because they were suposidely brought back later through the power of space magic
Biak Skull necromorph spartans
Biak Skull Didn’t Halsey state in her journal that she found a way to reverse the Bone Ossification side-effects for some of the Spartans (like Kirk-018 and René-081)
It was a fake burial to bring peace to the surviving Spartans the caskets were empty
NDG VICTIM IM THE LEADER Thats why it bothers me that he used that "burial" as an example of a spartan funeral when there was no funeral
Biak Skull the Spartans dont know all who died some never found out they lived some did
"He's only missing in action till he respawns"
Spartans never die, they are only missing in action.
Halo 4 be like "spartan john 117 died in action due to a nuclear detonation."
BRO YOU HIGH?!?!?!?!?
Well, to me I thought the real meaning to "Spartans never die" is, Spartans will always keep fighting even if they're dying and when they die, they died fighting. So basically, I think they mean the spirit of Spartans never die. Like, Noble 6, he completed his mission and never died but after completing a mission Noble 6 decided to stay behind to keep fighting so to the military, a Spartan is MIA after a completed mission. I think that's what they mean. No Spartan has ever died during a mission.
"Severely killed" Wow I didn't know there was a "lightly" killed -_-
Imagine how crushed people would feel when they learn spartans die. Imagine a child, looking up to the Spartans and seeing them as the defenders of humanity, enlisting into the UNSC Marines and being deployed to reach, only to see spartans being killed by the dozens Imagine how hopeless that could make them feel.
This Video: Exist
Halo Reach: NoE!!!!!!!
What'd be dope is if in halo 6, halo 3 music starts playing and over the horizon we see every spartan that ever fell in battle start walking towards the battle and all of them in unison say "spartans never die"
Spartans die when they are killed.
Berry Goosey I’m pretty sure they respawn...
I'm parodying a joke. Google 'people die when they are killed'.
Insightful.
Unseen Gamer :)
I'd love to see 343 throw John into some social situations (even if it's just hangin' with the rest of the team between missions). Just to show the player how fucked up he is and how much of his humanity he sacrificed by having no childhood, then fighting non-stop for 25+ years.
They respawn in 10 seconds.
DEADPOOLXI 5 seconds
3 seconds
BOOP
BOOP

BEEP
Not if they get Tea-bagged, then they just rage quit lol😂
+Spare Account lol
I think the title is meant to be called "What Happens when Spartans go MIA"
Chris stop saying the armor like thar
YES please!!!!!!!
Chris. Just watch Marvel's Thor to know how to pronounce the armour name.
I think he has a speech problem with makes it hard to say mjolinar properly.
John Grafelman oh you should watch when he tried to say the banished in his Halo wars 2 videos that shit pissed me off
HiddenXperia did a video on noble 6. After close analysis he concluded that we never actually see noble 6 die to the elites. We only made assumptions
What happens when Spartans die?
They die?
Yes they just die
It would’ve been awesome if after sacrificing yourself at the end of halo reach it doesn’t show you die and you get to have a cameo appearance with the armor you customized in a Easter egg in the later halos
Master Chief already had a funeral in halo 3. Why does everyone forget that scene?!? Wtf!
Halo right now has too much focus on emotion to the point where it's laughable so no. We don't need to focus on Spartans death unless it was the master chief.
BiteSizeTuna yeah honestly too many people got attached to noble team.
They were really the only spartan team we were introduced to any halo game besides halo wars so that explains their huge popularity.
7:49 I cried in a few seconds because of the speech
Spartans never die. They're just Missing In Action.
TomodachiDalton hug me bro :'( *hold tears back*
That was so moving, I like the idea of M. I. A. Gives one hope of a better life for all.
SPARTANS NEVER DIE!
0:08 what cutscene is that never scene it in Halo Reach
Do a video on the spartan death count please
In the distance in halo 6, you see a lighter spark behind a shroud of smoke.
SgtJohnson: you think I'd miss this party?
Spartans never die, they just respawn.
Pixxelated lmao
Tell that to Jorge
Yes OOF
i have played every halo over and over again but at the end of reach when she says the about the courage it always makes my eyes water
Dr Halsey and cortana are the same voice actor
I think that’s the point I guess cause that’s her ai
Because they’re exactly the same
Make sense guys
"As far as I know, I'm the only AI ever generated from living tissue. A clone of Dr Halsey, to be precise."
-Cortana, Halo 4
ur gay
3:23 - 3:45 all i could picture is something playing out like this
*marines* see the master chief "sir we thought you were dead"
*chief* "I died weeks ago"
Bring back my boi noble six
NDG VICTIM IM THE LEADER please
I must say that Luke the Notable made a good theory about Noble Six surviveing
If you guys haven't seen it go watch it. It gives hope that after ending this thing called main halo storyline from 343 we might get a new Noble Six spinoff
Spartans never die, they’re just missing in action
Except Noble 6 didn't die. Both attacks on him were misses
A Spartan's job isn't jumping feet first into hell, it's making sure that it is crowded when they arrive
That speech at the end of halo 3 made me cry multiple times
6 is still out there... he lives on.
Thomas Mills I believe you he is
Not completely if you will play the Lone Wolf Mission there was armor he could took in that armor and survived
What keeps me hoping is we only see his helmet and not his full body armor.
Thomas Mills he’s dead
And who said he was dead which company
The Spartan suit could delay life threatening injuries? Did Noble 6 have this special suit? Whether or not he does it really doesn't feel right for him to die he seems/seemed like an important enough character too keep alive.
Definitely my favourite Spartan tell me if you agree
Me definitely🙂👍🏻
When they die they die
Clicked on the video because of the question, and this can be answered quite easily; They don't die. They're just missing in action.
Die? Spartans never die they are only ever missing in action.
CRZYx THOMAS c'mon Halo follower said it's not true Noble 6 died so it's not even true Chief was missing in Action yes but Noble 6 was spartan and he clearly died
Hydro Zerker you never see the killing blow with Noble 6 so you dont know he is dead! Lol
Lexort 420 If the elite didn't kill him the glassing certainly did.
Yes if you have read First Strike (if i remember right) you would know the whole planet wasnt glassed. It was mainly the poles that were and there was a small portion toward the middle untouched.
Hydro Zerker no he didn’t he’s missing in action
I don't know if this has been mentioned, but in Halo:New Blood, Buck actually touches on what happens to the remains of Spartan IVs. It's only a few lines, but I believe that it says Spartan remains are so riddled with augmented components that those components have to be extracted and are recycled
It wil be awsome before chief die he wil get a flash back of al his best actions
(If he dies in halo 6)
Why would he die
The music is so beautiful...it keeps making me tear up.
What was that cutscene with Carter saying Spartans never die? And why was he so ugly?
ALSO STOP SAYING MAH-NEAR DAMMIT
His countdown timer blinked at him: "0:00."
He exhaled. The rift was closed.
Kurt opened his team roster-subheading status-and moved Will, SPARTAN-043;
Dante, SPARTAN-G188; and Holly, SPARTAN-G003 to the missing-in-action column,
adhering to the tradition of never listing a fallen Spartan as "killed in action."
Kurt then highlighted Lieutenant Commandeer Kurt Ambrose… and moved that name to
the MIA list as well-next to Kurt, SPARTAN-051.
The room started to spin. His mouth went dry He tried to swallow. Couldn't.
His vision doubled and he thought he saw Tom and Lucy
come back to get him… but it wasn't them. It was Shane, Robert, and Jane from Team
Wolf Pack.
There were hundreds of Spartans with him on the platform- from Alpha and Beta
Companies, Dante, Holly, Will, and even Sam… all ready to fight and win this last battle with
him.
Hallucination? Maybe. It was nonetheless welcome.
The ghostly Spartans nodded, and gave him the thumbs-up "can-do" signal.
Kurt wouldn't let them down. All he had to do was single-handedly stop a Covenant
army. One last impossible mission… the short definition of any Spartan. It was the least he
owed them.
The Fleet Master Elite snarled at Kurt, and the translation filtered through his helmet's
speaker: "One last fight, demon. You will die and we shall reopen the silver path."
"Die?" Kurt laughed. "Didn't you know?" he told the Elite. "… Spartans never die."
Kurt turned his gauntlet face-up and pressed the detonator.
Ah yes my favorite member of Noble team: Spartan 6
