I know that some people literally mean "no plan" when they say it, but I think to some degree what they really mean is they don't have a specific color palette in mind and have a hard time visualizing what they are after due to their inexperience. I know from some other experience that getting a color combination you would like is hard even though there is an obvious method to color coding. It is an unknown idea for them to begin with and they can only kind of comprehend what the problem is. People fear making mistakes, so it's easier not to try.

Yea, building the image in your head of what they should look like is an adventure in itself, then bringing it to life with what skills you have is a whole other issue. I hope this vid could at least give some ideas where to start.

No Plan. That is always how I approach my models. That is why 99% are unpainted. Painting is hard when you are an ADHD perfectionist.

I get it, perfection is hard. But getting the skills and perfection is a journey you need to start some time. I think some of my models I did a few years ago are ugly but I learned from them and got better.
