FYI, i realized that i said Rodeo should have been Rondo. LOL sorry. Also i have watched different concerts with this song. OMG they get better and better each time.
After all these years (this song was part of their debut album) still my favorite! Though "Shine" from their current album follows very close.
There are some amazing Babymetal concerts that you can't see on youtube. They sell the concert DVDs. The first one i would recommend is Metrock 2015. It's a great performance but the crowd steals the show. It's on Dailymotion.

Rondo is easily in my top ten BABYMETAL songs.
Su performed three solos that night.
She did 'No Rain, No Rainbow', followed by 'Akatsuki' earlier in the set.
Yui and Moa (as Black BABYMETAL) did two songs without Su that night ('4 no Uta' and 'Onedari Daisakusen'), and they all performed a bunch of songs together.
That Black Night Budokan concert from March 2014 is still one of my favorite BABYMETAL shows.
You forgot one of the best Su solo's song, "Amore"
"Mischief of Metal Gods" intro is a ritual performed by the god of guitar, bass & drum to summoned the Metal Queen Su-Metal. because in this song hers human soul has been trapped in recurring nightmare and can't escape from there.
The Kami Band in this show are :
- Leda Cygnus (1st guitar solo)
- Takayoshi Ohmura (2nd guitar solo)
- Boh (6 string bass)
- Hideki Aoyama (drum)

Good reaction - you already have all the info I might have provided about this song and performance, so that's saved my fingers a bit. I will say about Su - what a presence, what a voice and what a performance.
To answer one of your questions, yes this song is one of Su's solo songs, to give the other 2 (Yui and Moa) a break. Yui and Moa have their own duet songs to give Su a break, as well.

Hi Olly! Good reaction! "Rondo of Nightmare" is a song about a girl trying to escape from... something. We don't really know what it is, and part of the song is that we never really find out. When Su-metal puts her head down and sings softly she's pleading with, whatever it is, to at least show itself before she perishes. As with all nightmares it never gets resolved. Su has two solos on each of the first two albums, where Moa and Yui have two duets each on the first two albums.
The Kami Band are absolute metal masters and this "Mischiefs of the Metal Gods" intro really shows it! There's a pool of Kamis and they rotate in and out depending on availability as they all have their own bands and projects, but here in order of solos we have: Leda Cygnus (blue guitar), Takayoshi Ohmura (gold guitar), BOH (bass), and Hideki Aoyama (drums). I can't wait until I'll be able to see them perform again....

Great reaction! Yes, "Rondo" refers to the musical style of the song. As per Wikipedia:
"In rondo form, a principal theme (sometimes called the "refrain") alternates with one or more contrasting themes, generally called "episodes", but also occasionally referred to as "digressions" or "couplets". Possible patterns in the Classical period include: ABA, ABACA, or ABACABA." 🦊🤘
If you have seen Babymetal, it's a very high energy show. They have moments in the set where Su takes a break, and Yui and Moa perform together, and when they take a break, and Su performs on her own. It's how they get through a 90 minute show.
Those are some talented musicians on the stage. Holy...I'll say it again, it looks like one hell of a show they put on.

I have heard this song dozens, maybe hundreds of times over the last three years, and I still shake my head over the sheer beauty of that melody in the chorus.It's just so good, and creates such a great, convincing atmosphere. And Su's performance is really the icing on the cake.
I really enjoy the drum solo during the intro as well. Some drummers tend to play stuff that may leave other drummers gaze in awe, but are not really entertaining for the casual listener. I find Hideki's solos very good in that respect.
I always stop doing anything when I stumble this song. It's that MASTERPIECE. the lyrics, the meaning behind it, the performance, the chorus, the badass tracks. Everything is just so dark yet hauntingly perfect.
This song in this concert (Budokan march 2014) have two parts: First "Mischiefs of Metal Gods", the initial instrumental of the band and a second part "Rondo of Nightmare" Su-metal's solo song...

Get the bluray Olly!!! It's very cheap compared to the other BMs. Here in Germany it's under 10 euros! You won't regret it! Ah, and try to watch the free live-stream on BM official youtube june 28th, though I believe, that will be very early in the U.S. That concert will however be without Yui, cuz she left due to health issues, so only 2 girls on stage. And absolutely right: the other 2 were resting, as does Suzuka when the other 2 perform, cuz you cannot dance the whole show through without a bottle of oxygene haha!

Funny you say dont fall off as the two backing singers fell the night before. YuiMetal fell off the stage and returned the following song where MoaMetal then fell and hurt her knee and had grind it out in pain the whole song. Just consumate professionals.

Great reaction you should check out black Babymetal the sub group in Babymetal which consists of Yui and Moa they sing the more heavier songs they have the most brutal song called sis anger. I suggest you check that one out it’s awesome

This is a little sad to see Kami band play. because one of the guitarists passed away in an accident. He was on a winter vacation with his 2 daughters. He slipped and fell from a high platform.
