- In this video I will show you how to reset the Ridgid 18v Max Output Lithium battery when you get the 4 blinking lights. I made this video about a year ago and have not had any issues with the battery pack since then. I wanted to make sure this quick fix would work long term before uploading the video. I use it daily to power my Ridgid spotlight when I walk my dog. I believe the issue I had was from my battery over heating and going into protective mode (a safety feature). I knew the battery was still fairly new and assumed the only reason it over heated was because I had been using it extensively in the 90° sunshine. This fix can be done on other tool brand batteries, some will actually say reset or rst near 1 pad and ground or gnd near the other pad where you need to jump the connection. This fix is to reset your battery and get it out of the protective mode . It may not work for you if your battery pack has bad cells or another problem that can't be fixed with a reset. While you have the case open you can also clean the board with some compressed air or electronic cleaner and a soft bristle toothbrush. I hope this works for you, thanks for watching.
This Totally worked on mine thought my battery was done for truly appreciate your help
This worked perfectly your the best
Fix mine I had it almost use the cell for a diy pack build thanks bro G battery good again
Fixed my 6 ah! Thanks!
I appreciate the comments. I'd like to apologize if I haven't had a chance to reply to your comments. I work for UPS and we got really busy during covid. Now that things are going back to normal I will be trying to upload some more videos for tools and electronics. For the people who were able to fix their battery, I'm glad I could help. To the people who weren't able to fix their battery, I'd like to add that this only fixes certain errors. This will not work if you have bad cells or their voltages are no longer in sync.
My Battery is similar but the jumpers were in the different place Ground on the left near the solder and J2 near were the 4 hole are, Jumper'd them, orange and blue LED and a beep and it was reset
worked for me thanks ....
Yes mine is the same. Thanks to your comment I could fix mine.
did you have the 4amp battery?
Can u do the same video with a Hart battery plz
that didnt work for mine, i have the 4amp version of this series battery
Didn't work for me. I think this pack was left out in the rain too long. Thanks.
Yea unfortunately didn't help me but it looks like the temp sensor on mine got really hot. But each individual cell seems fine wonder if somebody gave it a hot supper before i got it lol
Did you end up figuring out a way to get it working ?
I cant even get the screws off. What kind of weird screws are these ?
You need a security screw driver with a hole in the middle.
Torx security/tamper proof.
T10 security
Did not work on my 4ah.😢
didnt work on my 4amp either
Didnt work for me i still have 4 blinking lights
These BMS boards are usually covered in a clear coat for water resistance. Either lightly sand the metal terminals or use a sharp metal point, like a multimeter probe to get through it.
Good shit bro I got couple hundred in batteries that are doing it. I think it's the freezing temps I left them in my car like an idiot
