Quick fix for the Ridgid 18v Max output lithium battery, 4 blinking lights.
In this video I will show you how to reset the Ridgid 18v Max Output Lithium battery when you get the 4 blinking lights. I made this video about a year ago and have not had any issues with the battery pack since then. I wanted to make sure this quick fix would work long term before uploading the video. I use it daily to power my Ridgid spotlight when I walk my dog. I believe the issue I had was from my battery over heating and going into protective mode (a safety feature). I knew the battery was still fairly new and assumed the only reason it over heated was because I had been using it extensively in the 90° sunshine. This fix can be done on other tool brand batteries, some will actually say reset or rst near 1 pad and ground or gnd near the other pad where you need to jump the connection. This fix is to reset your battery and get it out of the protective mode . It may not work for you if your battery pack has bad cells or another problem that can't be fixed with a reset. While you have the case open you can also clean the board with some compressed air or electronic cleaner and a soft bristle toothbrush. I hope this works for you, thanks for watching.

I already own a lot of smart home devices, but this is my first smart lock. I am a UPS driver and have been seeing more and more smart locks on my route. I like that Hampton gave us 2 different styles and 3 different colors to choose from. I went with the Barrington, Tuscan Bronze. I like the design and the color. I got this lock because sometimes I need someone to come let my dog out when I'm ...

Today I made my very first 2 video reviews. I made a Review for the Ridgid 4-Tool Combo Kit: R9225 and I made this review for the brad nailer: R09891. I am new to this so my videos are unedited and not scripted. I grabbed my tools and hit record on my cell phone. In the future I will get into editing and having more tests setup. Today was just practice, I kept it short and to the point. I tried...

Today I have decided to try my first video review. I reviewed a Ridgid brad nailer and this set. Bare with me because I am new to this. There is no editing or script to follow. I just turned on my camera and went with it. The video is short and to the point. In the future I will get more into detail and editing. This is for the Ridgid 18v Brushless Cordless 4-Tool Combo Kit with (1) 4.0 Ah and ...

    A lot of people are saying this works. I need to try it on my 3 month old rigid battery pack. I can’t believe this would happen so soon on what is supposed to be a contractor type impact gun/battery pack.

    Might be worth applying flux everywhere and reflow with heat gun if reset and clean doesn't work.

    I appreciate the comments. I'd like to apologize if I haven't had a chance to reply to your comments. I work for UPS and we got really busy during covid. Now that things are going back to normal I will be trying to upload some more videos for tools and electronics. For the people who were able to fix their battery, I'm glad I could help. To the people who weren't able to fix their battery, I'd like to add that this only fixes certain errors. This will not work if you have bad cells or their voltages are no longer in sync.

    Never remove a blade with the battery connected… all it takes is one slip accidentally hitting the trigger and you’ve got a mess on your hands…

      These BMS boards are usually covered in a clear coat for water resistance. Either lightly sand the metal terminals or use a sharp metal point, like a multimeter probe to get through it.

    Question, just bought this Brad nailer and tried it out. Is the power adjustment knob supposed to turn all the way around? Does yours do that? Once I reach the max + sign it keeps spinning around more past that mark and back around to the - again. Is this normal or is something not right?

    • @tothepointtechandtoolrevie9247
      @tothepointtechandtoolrevie9247 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes that's normal. You can turn the dial a full 360° around. It stops right about where it starts at the - point. To be honest I do not notice much of a difference changing it's position. I have just kept it in the middle while working on the few projects I've used it on. When I need an adjustment I just use the depth controller.

    Thanks for making this review! Just so you know the Hammer Function is for drilling into concrete!

    • @tothepointtechandtoolrevie9247
      @tothepointtechandtoolrevie9247 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you for watching and commenting. Yes you are correct and brought up a great point. Hammer drills are not only great for concrete but masonary, brick, stone, etc... I should have mentioned that in my video. When drilling into wood normally you would put the hammer drill in drill mode to disengage the clutch. I used it on wood because it's what I had on hand and wanted to demonstrate hammer mode for people watching. In hammer mode the drill will punch in and out which makes it great for masonary work and chipping away at the stone like a mini jack hammer.

      I got it through the home depot seeds program. I was kind of nervous making this video. Some people have really nice cameras, microphones, and edit their videos. Some people even have their own theme music lol. I am going to start learning how to edit and make better quality content. Also I will have a review for this on the home depot site that may touch down on a couple points that I did not include in the video. Thanks for watching. I appreciate the comment.
