On Torres somehow in this game he didn’t hit homers but his at bats were so important. This was what I had envisioned of him making the Yankees win. If he can put at bats like he did today the Yankees will go far. I just hope this isn’t a one game thing.
Absolutely agree. There is so much more than just homers. Gleyber affected the game by just getting on base.
If Gleyber can really fill that role that's so huge. This proposed lineup can really go far in playoffs.

Gleyber has improved thus far in the second half, hitting 278 with only 3 errors since a terrible start! Remember, he was hit by a pitch on his hand the second game of the season, and really struggled, batting 192 with only 2 RBI’s in the first 27 games. Glad to show Gleyber some love!!!

Judge's last 4 hrs chip (not cheaply shots to right field. Imagine if he was playing in 1961 with a 295 right field line and the pitchers of the time.
The pitchers were so horrible that the mound was lowered.

I love the power in your Pops swing, he's right up there with today's big bats. I'm sure if they were able to measure his bat speed back then, he would be in the top 10 of the game. anyway, thanks for the great insight guys keep it coming.

While Stanton was out and Grisham was getting consistent ABs he hit very well and he’s a great fielder I think we consider giving him some starts while Dugie is shitting the bed

I was impressed with the Clevland starter today. Great stuff and really challenged hitters. 2 K vs Soto. Yankees were oh so close to sweeping that series. Several rehab assignments starting and with the Martian coming up with September call ups we could have 5-6 players next 2 weeks.

Great content. Tbf: I m no Gleyber Fan. I m happy when this chapter is closed for Yankees. I can understand Fans celebrating his better periods. But aside from his better streaks where he focusses on contact and right center. I really appreciate Gleyber fouling of pitches until He gets walked for Soto and Judge. That s the kind Team Player this Team needs. And though I love the Yankees Kids and really hope Volpe can post better offense Numbers, Stanton and Rizzo mustn t be underestimated. As every Team, being a real threat in October, next to pitching this Yankees need clutch and situatinal hitting. If Rizzo fails Power but remains providing clutch hitting, especially with Risp, and Stanton running riot here and there in October, as he often does, these are exactly reinforcements Soto and Judge will need, once opposing elite pitching enters field in October. Everybody needs to perform then, and first of all, for the Team, know his role and focus on!
Absolutely hear you. October is a different game and mentally having the clean slate and the stats wiped away matters. I do think Rizzo may end up being a big piece down the stretch but I really do think Gleyber who historically hits well in the postseason will

Started watching your videos a few weeks ago and love hearing you guys analyze and give your comments on the yankees and the games.
I think the "analytics" boone is using for verdugo is the same they used in 2006 when they took apart the team that got them to the playoffs and put in all the high paid "stars" who came off the DL at the end of the year. They probably feel they can't bench him with the millions he's making.

Totally love the thoughts on gleyber. Both him and volpe are the X factors of the line up when it comes to overall lineup depth. If they can get on base it can allow for the run producers to do their job and will force pitchers to actually pitch to judge and Soto rather than pitching around them. Also, verdugo has to go. The moment the Yankees accept their losses with him the better. Love this channel though thanks for the good content. Looking forward to more content as we inch closer to the post season. Go yanks!

A few points:
Cole, def starting to look more like the CY Young Cole but needs to continue to locate more. 5 BBs way too many. He’ll get it right I’m not worried.
Torres: of all the players who have struggled this year, I think he’s the one who has the best chance to have that second half turn around and be a productive player in the playoffs.
Dominguez: while I can see the upside with his bat over Verdugo, I don’t entirely trust him in the field. Verdugo has provided good defense all year and has a good arm.
Rizzo: if he gets back to a consistent player batting .250 and making pitchers work, is adding another player since DJ and Rice are essentially outs.
I think I agree with most of that I will say Jasson is a much better fielder than that game against the Tigers showed. He was hesitant on the throw but he’s been great in AAA

At this point I think the worst thing that could happen would be for Verdugo to start hitting. We know what verdugo is. Let’s get Dominguez up here. I don’t want reason for hesitation in calling up Dominguez. I don’t want verdugo to have one good week here and make that decision difficult
Its sad we have to think like this but I completely agree. Boone will overreact if Verdugo has one good week.
Another great show, thank you. We’re at a point now where Trent Grisham has better offensive numbers than Verdugo, and obviously Grisham is better defensively. Grisham should start over Verdugo until The Martian comes up.

I’ll go along with replacing Verdookie with Dominguez, but calling Torres the key is expecting too much from a VERY INCONSISTENT player. Also, counting on Rizzo to come back and actually HIT is pushing it too. Probably better off with Cabrera at 1st

Here’s a tip. Try watching in 1.5 speed and see if that helps. Its fast enough where you can cut down that hour but also slow enough to understand what we are saying. 2x speed would be a little much but would get you through in 30

As bad as DJ is, Ben Rice is basically equally as bad. If it’s between those two, the only thing Rice has over DJ is athleticism. Which makes him better, but man they’re both terrible.
Yeah unfortunately Rice’s confidence is totally shot at this point. Rizzo is the best option when he comes back. For now i would use Wells on days he doesn’t catch and Cabrera
