5:02 ... i love how everyone who make strut replacement videos skips this part. no one shows how to tighten the nut while holding the piston in place with an allen wrench. why is that????
Great video. My b4's are coming next week. What do you think of them now? I was tempted by the b6 but want to use that extra cash for m3 control arms down the road.
I’ve had them for a year now and no complaints. I did white line sway bars as well. I would justify the price difference of b4/b6/b8 if I went with aftermarket springs. But even b4s are totally fine for that.
Great video and explanation. I'm thinking about putting B4's on my bmw e46 325ci. A mechanic i spoke to said "go for sachs oem as the they're more comfy,B4's are too hard". How have yours been?
I just replaced my blown shocks on my E90 335i with B4’s. They are ok but I think I might replace the rear shocks with B6 “HD” shocks. It’s a little floaty and bouncy back there. The ride isn’t particularly soft either so I’m also contemplating moving up to a more sophisticated coil over set up like ST XTA Plus 3 way adjustable. I think it’s possible to have more comfort and more control but that costs more money.
@@dRew-somethingI would not get the B12s because they are not adjustable. In my experience, it is easy to go too stiff for the street and ruin not only your comfort but also your grip and performance. For the same price the ST XTA Plus 3 way adjustable are very reputable and very adjustable. ST offers a non adjustable set for half the cost that I also considered.
@@garbinsgaragewhy didnt you go for B6? Im thinking which one to get. Found one the forums saying b6 raised your height up a bit. I have the oem sport package suspension. So thinking to get b4 too dont wanna go through the b6 headache
@@ricolam4916 I went mainly for the price being nearly half. I had a good discount at the shop I was working for and I also have factory springs. My ride height definitely did raise in the front by an inch mainly due to replacing the original collapsed top hats.
They're supposed to be stock style replacements They're twin tubes not like the good bilstein's so it's probably going to give you approximately a stock ride
Perfect video. Perfect installation tutorial. Thank you so much.

I like how you wear a AMG cap while you are fixing a BMW, excelent job tho
Thanks for watching! My favorite hat 😂 I have an M hat but looks too cheesy hoping out a bmw with it on

I just replaced my e90 330i front struts to bilstein b4 but my car’s height increased drastically. Looks bit weird.
Didn’t settle down after a few miles?
@@OHSCrifle just sold the car in Feb. Height was still on higher side

@@Aaron-jb7ho I've been told that Eibach springs with B12 are also a good option but like you said a big step up in cost. Thanks for info on yours

@@Aaron-jb7hoThanks, I'll take a look at the ST XTA's.
Haha. My car look like it's on sport spring because of worn out shocks. I bought Bilstein B8 and Tein lowering springs.
Yesterday I just installed B4s with Eibach Pro Kit springs. Ride is night and day compared to my oem Sport Suspension that had 165K miles on it.
@@ALKOHOLIC45I keep hearing I need the B8 kit if I want lowering springs ? What you think
Interesting why you didn’t opt for the B8 shocks instead. Is there any reason why you decided to go with the B4’s?
B8s were currently on back order when I was currently ordering and a $400 price difference.

@@ricolam4916 yes
I have the bilstein b4 currently, would they be fine with a set of hr sport springs?
Yeah totally fine. As long as they are in decent shape
God your method is way easier 😂 just watched a video where the guy took the entire caliper off wtf

Need more 328i videos
328 is no longer with us 😢 sold it a while ago to buy this car. I’ll be visiting the owner pretty soon and I’ll make a video
