If it wasn't a legit option, then why'd they have to make it illegal for the future? Pence may or may not have "gone with his conscience", but it was well within his authority to send them back and let the states settle the dispute. He's a coward at best, a traitor at worse. He's the first option in imho.

All the talking over each other is exactly WHY I DON'T watch political debates. Then again, it's the same reason I don't watch The View.
All I know is I have decided primary debates are a complete waste of time.
The 2nd debate is a prime example of why you shouldn't hold "Presidential Debates" until AFTER at least 3 primaries..... that way you get rid of all the people who have already been told they have no chance. Meaning that you end up with 3-5 people AT MOST, not a mob trying to all speak at the same time.

As a republican that debate was the worst waste of my valuable time. The debate was horrible, crazy, a joke, disappointing. On stage were 7 clowns screaming at each other in a clown car.

That's nothing. Greenbelt, MD federal courthouse during construction 30 years ago. $50k wallpaper from Italy arrived late. The judge didn't like it so it was reordered. For $75k. 1994 prices. That's chump change. Entire remodel of Ariel Rios bldg across from old post office in DC was rejected by the EPA and completely redone for another tenant. 2 years of Davis bacon labor force plus materials and engineering. Cost is no object when it's not your money. Whenever you hear the phrase "value engineering" hold onto your wallets. Jacob javits Ronald Reagan bldg was prime component.

The curtains debate reminded me of a line from Lincoln when he was complaining about Mary Todd's spending habits in the White House: "Flub duds! She's spending all this money on FLUB DUDS!" (It's highlighted in Freedom, the Civil War historical novel by William Safire.)

Instead of attacking each other the candidates need to talk about what they will do if elected.

There is certainly a better way to hold a "Debate". The first Candidate to be asked each question should be determined ahead of time with the following ones in strict rotation. Anyone who butts in or interferes with an answer loses their turn to respond, and after Three such IS REMOVED.
