A few months ago, I was introduced to this fellow. I said "Hello, so nice to meet you" He said " What's your pronoun ? I turned my back on him and walked away. I am too old and cranky to put up with garbage.
I would've told the guy that I have no pronouns, they're all amateurs.
I would have said, "the proper one."
Then, walked away
It's almost an insult, or could be taken that way. "What do you mean? Can't you tell just by looking?"
I would have walked away as well. There's no sense in wasting your breath on a delusional. 👍

I agree and disagree. I'm up in WA, about 2 hrs from Seattle, and see people still masked and the flag flying MAGA crowd. If someone uses pronouns beyond the ones biology and language determined, it just means they are immature and power hungry. That doesn't mean run, it means pity them... and I haven't had a single one yet figure out what my Bilbo level compliments really mean. They are in life just to fulfill some arbitrary meaning instead of making their own way.

Our grandparents were basically all poor immigrants arriving in America with ( minus- zero) cash and worked hard so their children would have a better life! unfortunetly parents today are lacking these attributes and with divorce skyrocketing kids are morally and mentally deficient to cope with these dangerous times!!
Totally we're immigrants and very poor but my parents worked hard for what we have. So I followed my parents teachings, I have three childrens one boy and two girls my son went to college and drop out in his third year but has a good job. My oldest girl has a Science, Art and Master degree and my youngest girl has an Art and master degree and both has a good high paying jobs. America is a great country because it provide people with dreams to make it come true if you work hard to achieve. God bless America.

I was followed by an employee at a Walmart right after T got elected, to be told how he was such a tyrant but he was only in office for a month or so. My preferred pronoun is you. When some one speaks to me, I want them to use 2nd person singular. Has anyone noticed these are all 3rd person pronouns? How crazy does one have to be to insist they be addressed in the 3rd person? I don’t want people who are talking to me to refer to me as he. For example, “Hi Paul. How is he doing?” If someone said that to me, I’d turn my head looking for someone else named Paul. If we are going to use special pronouns, my preferred pronouns are: Your Highness, Your Holiness, Your Majesty and Your Excellency. And just as with Colin Kaepernick, I do expect everyone around me kneel to show their submission by kneeling. Though I do expect both knees, not just one. Karpernick does not make a very good servant.
People only talk *about* another in 3rd person, not to them. They're trying to control your speech when they aren't even present.

I absolutely agree with Tyrus. I am very old school, I refuse to change and I refuse to conform to this pronoun BS. Those who indulge in this may be seeking attention and I would have no hesitation letting them know in no uncertain terms that they are an utter waste of time. As for having an intelligent conversation, their lives revolve around TikTok and a great many of them can neither read, write, spell or count. And politicians who encourage such linguistic deviation are equally foolish.
"I am really bad with pronouns, can I just call you heartburn?"

I don't really want to develop personal relationships with people with pronoun issues, so I tend to use impersonal pronouns like "it"!
You can pretend to be anything. But, a lot of us will not.
