Personally, its a VAG product which means parts/repairs are gonna be spendy so may be worth avoiding. Another guy in Indiana is rebuilding that exact same BMW his was not as bad as this one but I have been following that build and its kind of exciting. (ok maybe it will go up sky high in price but you never know Randy , you may be buying it?!! ( IK for the right price ) I think that weird sound was the check engine light. But anyways loved the Ram 3500 as well and the maxima , I'd love to save both (really deeply loved the Ram) . And Randy I loved the BMW 440 Xi its a good project car as far I see it , its good , and what makes it more special Randy is that its an M-PERFORMANCE package Randy!!! hope you noticed it , so its almost like an M4 (not close but still awesome) and like with Vtuned did on his 435i , if a tune is put on it it will be a blast. The reason why they are called Exploders. It mainly had to do with the transmissions that grenaded on the 2002-2004 models. Also the SOHC 4.0L engine that had a lot of timing chain problems.

I watch the video of a young guy that border 72 Camaros Z 28 and had mole rollers eat in the floor and after he finished with it, it was beautiful. If I could a brand-new car the mo was gone. He even ran like vinegar 50 water 50 and really you other stuff after he cleaned the mold off it was beautiful. The car was called if it kind of brand new one so if you see mold on the seat you can get vinegar white vinegar and 5050 and get it off.
Buy that Porsche for your wife. She is worth it. A hard working person like her, deserves some luxury and some driving fun. Keep it for a year or two. It will not depreciate any further..
God that cayenne is clean. Those 4.5 V8 motors sound sooo good with an exhaust on it.
Then the bearings in the motor go like they all fail and u have a 6k engine job

Maxima needs 2 camshaft sensors and 1 crankshaft sensor they need replacement about every hundred thousand miles
