I got the Smallrig grip with my Zf at the time, but now I tend to use it without one. For me, it’s comfortable enough with small lenses like the 28mm and 40mm. Regarding the shutter button sensitivity you mentioned at 6:28, my Zf sometimes takes two consecutive shots in single-shot mode, it’s something I still haven’t gotten used to. Have you experienced the same issue with yours?
Yeah same here! The grip is mostly for when I’m using a zoom lens. The shutter is super sensitive but you get use to it after a while. I use to have the same issue with getting multiple shots as well.
Great video man! I also recommend the voigtlander lenses for the z mount! I own the 40mm f/1.2 and it's very good! Do you by any chance own one of the compact sony f/2.5 prime lenses? Very curious about how they work on the Nikon ZF as they do have aperture rings
Fellow ZF user here and what a great video! I am interested in using the Techart adapter for my M lens which has an infinity lock. On the Techart website it says "not applicable to LTM/M mount lenses with the infinity lock button". Yet in your video you say its a positive to have the infinity lock. Any ideas why their website states not applicable to infinity lock lenses? Thanks!
Thanks for the kind words! the Typoch 1.4 M-mount lens I use on the Techart autofocus adapter for Z-mount works great. I haven’t had any issues but my guess is Techart’s disclaimer is just a precaution for certain lenses.
The Techart TZM-02 AF adapter: the principle itself (extension added to the lens barrel, like an extending macro tube, with the lens set to infinity) ruins the close distance optical performance of any lens that depends on floating elements, such as all contemporary Leica lenses, some Voigtlander lenses, the best Zeiss ZM lens (35mm 1.4 DIstagon) or your Thypoch lens (and many others). This is anathema to me and the fact that reviewers systematically ignore that crucial fact is astonishing . It only delivers the goods with much older designs, but those flunk on performance anyway whenever you overshoot their prescribed mfd, which is something the Techart does systematically. Furthermore, that adapter is expensive, fragile, has lens weight limitations and is not supported by any customer service at all outside of China.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts! You seem to have a great understanding of lens performance and the Techart adapter’s limitations. It’s always valuable to hear such detailed feedback. Have you considered sharing your insights in a review or even starting a TH-cam channel? My experience is limited so I’m just sharing the information I have. Your perspective could offer a lot to the community, especially since your technical knowledge and passion for these topics really come through here. I’m sure many would benefit from hearing a different perspective!
@ thank you for this response. I cannot show my mug or use my voice on such public YT activity for professional reasons. And I am too lazy or unimaginative to come up with a sustainable faceless formula. Sharing my experience and opinions through comments is my best way to contribute. I wish you the very best for your channel. 😉
Very helpful, fascinating summery. I like the TP Original leather case (bought on Amazon) for the Zf when using smaller lenses, instead of the Smallrig or other meatier grip. The vertical leather strip of the half case along the right side serves as a helpful thumb rest, and the leather texture is very comfortable and secure to hold. I am very interested in the Thypoch 28mm f/.4 lens. I wish Thypoch would offer v. 2 in Z mount with electrical contacts, but I've found that zooming in 100% or 200% with manual lenses is surprisingly fast and reliable for MF focusing, even with no green focus confirmation.
Hey Luis, my name is Johnny and I'm a freelance logo designer, would you love to have a minimalist logo for your channel and business to allow your audience and client easier to remember your works from and also you can use it as merch print to sell to your fans to add more income, build loyalty and spread words about your channel too? Let me know if you interested to invest in this opportunity and I would love to work with you on it! :-)

I'll check it out!
You can map your aperture to the custom ring on the Nikkor Z 35mm 1.4 to give it an electronic aperture ring!
Yes! I just wish it was a clicky one haha
@@luischavezphoto Totally understand that! It's not the best, I'll admit.

@luischavezphoto Thank you for sharing your experience with it! It gives me a bit more confidence to try the techart adapter!

@@brusselssprout1thanks for watching! I still highly encourage anyone to start a channel! It’s a great creative outlet 😊
Looks like a big brick. Like an instax wide.
It’s honestly not huge I just have small hands 😂
