Picked up a Leica Q2 this year after selling off all my other gear and I have to say it’s hands down the best/favorite camera I’ve ever owned. The files are amazing and the lens definitely has that look to it. I actually loveeeee the high contrast BW SOOC as well. The only downside of the entire camera imo is the damn file sizes. I really wish they had a compressed raw option to get them down under 50mb. Usually my dng files are around 85-90mb.

The lens on the Q2 is digitally corrected. It has very had barrel distortion if you view the I corrected files. Kind of a beautiful lie if you ask me...

Nice video about leica in general, yup leica Q2 is best for the money right now, if you get good condition second hand unit, majority of leica Q2 is beat up, when I subscribed to your channel, I got my first leica, it's leica Q2 monochrome, because there's no leica Q2 at that time, but I love the experience shooting with it, then I sold it, then I bought leica m11, I'm happy right now with my leica M, but sometimes I missed leica Q series when the weather is not good and the Autofocus. Sold/traded my Q2 for a M10R, and whilst I’m loving the rangefinder experience, as well as the ability to change lenses, I couldn’t but feel nostalgic watching your video. The Q2 fantastic colour rendition, well-crafted tactile experience and how simple it feels to pick up and snap memories away is something that does not get brought up enough when comparing the Q series against the M lineup. Have been following your channel for a few years now, since I discovered it whilst searching for a thorough explanation of Q2 settings and menus (seriously, superb tutorial series!) until now. It’s great to see you back at posting content. Keep up the good work!! Cheers!

I don't get why people think it's a minor upgrade? New sensor going from 26-40 mp. IBIS which works in video. Open gate 6k recording. These are great significant upgrades.

We see all the cool reviews. We now know for sure it is a great camera :) Same for the X100V, but neither of these cameras are available. How can a brand like Fujifilm not produce these? And if they do it on purpose, I am sure they are losing some customers.

Hi, which thumb grip do you use and is it a good fit for the x100VI? I’ve seen some but they’re for the V and don’t fit great for the VI.

Sadly the autofocus is so bad that it becomes unreliable to use fujfilm cameras

If you have the itch for an x100VI for photos, consider the X-E2 with a Voigtländer 27 mm Ultron. You will save a lot of money and probably have more fun.

Btw, that would be Waimea VALLEY, not Waimea Canyon. The Canyon is on my isle (Kauaʻi), not on Oʻahu. On the topic of the video, I'd own that camera today if I could afford it/justify the cost 😅! One day I'll add it to my event/wedding kit.

I guess it all depends on what you shoot and how you use this camera. The autofocus is fine for me, but I don't shoot kids running around. I can live with the battery life. Here's my wish list. Drop all the radio stuff to make some room to bring the flash back. If you feel the need to be connected to social media all the time, shoot with your smart phone. Implement a tilting rear screen, even if it adds 1/4 inch to the thickness. I can live with that. Waist level shooting would make this a perfect street camera. I would definitely buy it.

I’m very pleased with my Ricoh GRiiix but frustrated by the Highlight Weighted metering mode. Compared to my other (full frame) camera, the default setting comes out far too dark, so I end up using Exposure Compensation to adjust and still maintain the Highlights….in practice I’m now finding it easier just to use the EP button. Can the default Highlight Weighted metering mode be adjusted?….I’ve not found an option for that. Any advice would be appreciated please - Thanks.

Really enjoyed your video I also am thinking about upgrading from iPhone 13 Pro Max mostly for the log and camera capabilities also I am vlogging and shooting more videos now and I think it will be a worthwhile investment to upgrade to iPhone 15 pro max.

With a Professional career spanning almost 40 years there but a few lenses that truly give you something special - the GF110mm is one of these lenses. The only other Fuji lens to make it my list of star performers is the Fuji GX100-200 for the GX680

Nice overview. New to the Fujifilm ecosystem after 20 years of Canon mostly full frame. Got the X-T5 but the GFX would be a great portrait camera with a single lens. Too expensive for my needs and wouldn't pass wife's review.😅

Ran across your channel with the Q2 videos , thanks for your direct and practical discussions. In the past year I tried out a Q2M, and that whole `gateway drug` joke was entirely true for me - my work is now largely split between Nikon z (faster moving subjects, video) and M11p.(slower moving subjects)., with a q2 for every day. Very happy with these, but with the steady improvement in the GFX family, suspect that may make sense for some work in the future.

Very interesting and quite personal presentation of your lovely hometown, well done 👍

My wishes: 1) ability to save more colour profiles and name them - custom 1 and 2 don’t cut it for me. Yes i can name the user setting but it’s not the same thing. 2) increase the options on the Fn and Adj buttons for quicker access to menu items. 3) tiltable screen or EVF. There used to be a built in flash, if they could regain that space for a pop up evf or simply make the screen tiltable. Note, items 1 and 2 can be solved by firmware. I’d love to see these options added to the existing GRiii and GRiiix.
