i find the combos impossible in SF6, coming to thje game from tekkenn 7 its so so difficult to combo because the inputs are harder to do them so fast and it seems like you cant buffer/spam the move so it comes ouyt fast enough
That's because they didn't start out as actual baked in combos. Players in the very beginning found glitches in the code where you could start a new move without fully finishing the move you were doing netting you hits on both. It became so synonymous with SF they just made it part of the game. That's why frame data is so important but also why it's hard to wrap your head around coming from other games. I played MK and SF and Tekken since the beginning and I prefer other styles of combos to SF's frame data driven one. It's not necessarily easier in other games but it's definitely more straight foreword. Ryu is my main and he needs a metric ton of pinpoint timing to use and it can be insanely frustrating, there's no gimmies with him.
Remember in this game lvl 1 can only be cancelled off normal moves like cr mk, lvl 2 can be cancelled from OD (EX) special moves and normal moves, lvl 3 can be cancelled off everything (normals, specials, OD (EX) specials).
I want to thank you for making this video. I picked up the character today from Ken. This video and doing every combo for the last 6 hours has made me insanely proficient at hard parts of Ryu I would have never been able to do otherwise. I create a 6598 combo off it too. I’m sure there’s more to get but I’m insanely happy. Now…. How does one micro walk??
Do you have to micro walk to connect the OD blade kick with the back +Hk move at 2:30 in the video ? It never connects and I can do every other combo posted here except that
Great stuff, subscribed. I know those are very specific combos depending on your drive/super gauge and will but what do you suggest to implement in your gameplay to start with for a total beginner?
I would suggest to start by picking and choosing some basic meterless combos for various scenarios, like a low confirm, a punish combo, a big damage combo for jump ins and so on; then later I would add more and more as you get accustomed to using drive and super meter, especially with od donkey kick and your lvl3 super to cash out on damage opportunities Just take it slowly and try to learn at your own pace!
I second what Mir said. find a quick combo you're comfortable doing out of a light attack, and then just get used to using that one combo in real fights before bothering with another one. and then also have an easy combo to hit-confirm into a super. those are the essentials oh also be sure to set the dummy to "block after first hit", so you know when your timing is off
Any good tips for doing crouching mp into DP? Because I am pressing down and going into shoryu motion my inputs are coming out as double quarter circle so I do lvl 1.
Great stuff and I don't know if you respond but do you have any advice on the timing for the parry dash after the Denjin charged Hashogeki. I don't know what it is sometimes I'll get it 20 times in a row and then I'll miss 10 times in a row. Do you have any tips for that if any?
Here's a Denjin Charge combo I found while labbing. B+HK, XX QCB P, QCF KK, QCF MK XX LVL 3. Use it after a heavy jump attack or PC DI for more damage.

@a. abdeljalil Yeah. Feels great. That said, my parents' house, where my bro lives, is about a one hour drive from the college room. So I'm probably not the best suited to tell you about it.
You don't need to memorize half of these. Just know a light confirm bread and butter combo, a medium one, a heavy one, and after that you can start incorporating drive rushes into your combos. These videos are good but they always present far too many combos options that will never get used. Most good players default to only a few bread and butter combos depending on what button (light, medium/heavy) they connected with. Just take it slow, practise only a few of these, and then play some ranked and try them out against real opponents to drill them into your muscle memory. Goodluck!
@@joemart6887 You hold down the attack button you used to do the super to charge it, like the other commenter said. So you do, say, qcb qcb lp and then hold lp. When Ryu's hands flash and you hear a noise, that's when it's fully charged and you can release it for increased damage and tumble roll. You can hold it further but it doesn't increase the damage any more than that
Unfortunately light attacks into supers can be quite challenging. Aside from doing it fast, you can try this "trick": if you input the last lp in the string as qcf p with correct timing, because of chaining lights it will not come out as a fireball and instead perform a normal punch, this should make it easier to complete the full super motion as the game will count this as the first half, meaning you only need another qcf p after. Hope this helps!
@@Onoxid I found it to be difficult using an arcade stick but what does help is buffering your next move.. also I don’t think it’s quite the best move when playing online.. I can utilize a smaller combo for decent damage with light punches into tatsu or heavy dp and then imply that into lvl3 if needed

Not understanding how to link the clk clk lp into xx lvl one it feels like I can’t get the input in time
Unfortunately light attacks into supers can be quite challenging.
@@mir2266 ima give it a try! Thanks so much!
@@MousePotato_ did you do it?, Im having the same struggle this is so frustrating, my left thumb just refuses to move
Question- can you do these combos on the Modern controls?
I don't think so since modern is missing moves. There is a modern combo trial in game tho
So… Lvl has no combo potential or what
Shoryuken is impossible in combos
First.
can you also do tutorials for modern controls?
My brother in Christ, please use the universal number notation
