    In 1955 when I got my G.S.M. with Malaya Clasp/bar it came in a white cardboard box with my No, Rank and Name hand written on the box. The Medal was inscribed round the edge with my details, I also had an R.A.F. Pro forma detailing my award.

    When my father gave me his WW2 medals they were still in the box that they were issued to him in. Astonishingly, my Northern Ireland and 1982 Falklands medals came in identical boxes. Nothing has changed.

    Fascinating. Sadly there are NO names on the medals OR the boxes of Jubilee medals that we received in the Ambulance service. I guess the same will be for the Kings Coronation Medal when it finally arrives
