    QUICK NOTE: The torque spec at 36:05 is suppose to be INCH POUNDS, not foot pounds. Sorry for the typo. 😅

    Worked as a GM tech for 10 years and now I work in parts at GM and RYAN you nailed it on this one! Once you brought up the RTV on the VC gasket I said to myself "yup he's done A LOT of these" lol! Your a hell of a tech man! Its a great video and I could do all this cuz I have access to all the GM tools for this job but I would call this job an advanced tech skills required job for most people. GTREAT VID though!

  • @jweyer01
    @jweyer01 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Curious on your thoughts, given you have taken off and put on these 1.4l valve covers numerous times. I've done it a half a dozen times over 2 different Cruze's. And I always replace it with a new cover, or at least a new rubber gasket. I never reuse the gasket, because the first time I tried, even when the cover was not that old, it leaked like a sieve. Do you do the same? I'm considering upgrading my springs soon and my cover is practically brand new. I just accept I'll spend $ again on a new cover or gasket. btw, I love ZZP.

    Can you help me. I dont know why to adjust rocker arms. They are wobbling and i dont know how to fix that. Sometimes it causes misfires in cylinder 3 and economy is worse.

    I'm curious "Not a motor head here, just a diy guy" can you remove the lifters at this time also. I am curious because another dude tore down the entire motor to get to them and here i clearly see they seem to be accessible however his vid was quite fast and definitely not as in depth as you are. that would save an enormous amount of time not removing the timing chain and all that. again maybe i missed something in his video since it went from take all this off to hey we are done.

      The LTG engine uses a different set of tools to the cam and valve springs replacement. Dealer manual calls for these tools:
      EN-50717
      EN 50793
      EN-50656

    My valve cover hates being put on with hand tools. No matter how easy I am with it I always strip one. I think I’m up to 4 helicoils holding my valve cover on lol. But when I put it on with an impact driver ive never had an issue. It’s the weirdest thing.
