After a good deal of use I have to say this is the best rear shock I’ve ever used - by a large factor.

I've never given a thought into how shock absorbers work. I had no idea that they are fairly complex.

Hi Rob, in recent years there has been a choice of spring poundage with some shocks (for instance, one company gives a 400lb option!). I'm not a small fella, and big trips need a lot of gear, so I have tended to go for the higher poundage springs. Has this unit been designed with fully loaded trips in mind and / or, will adjustment take care of this. Thanks, Mark

There is quite a big range of adjustment but Ideally if you are over 6-7 full turns of preload on the spring it would be best with a stronger one. That being said, I have tested just a couple of extra clicks of compression with my wife on the back (she is a big lass) and it's been great

Super interesting and in great depth so thanks.
What are these like on a race scooter tho. I always used bgm on my race scooter as I was lucky enough for them to be one of my sponsor for racing but I went to a mupo rear damper a few years ago as I felt it gave me better feedback and feeling on track and I had alot more rebound setting etc. but watching your video for me this looks like a huge step forward.
    Thanks

The tune is more for road going boy racers than actual racers because the first couple of cm are quite supple. That being said, it gives great feedback so it would be interesting to hear how it handles a track. It has great anti squat properties so it will help the front wheel stay on the asfalt. The problem with sticking modern shocks on a scooter is that they are designed for modern linkages and not a single pivot design found on a scooter. They tend to be hard (harsh) or too soft. I hope that the way I designed this will give us the best of new tech to control an old design.
