Thanks for your video. I have had all of the questions that you answered about weight, raking, grasping, quality, and waiting. I’m impatient too, but after watching your video the wait will be worth it. Just ordered the Wicked 66 for my 82 horse Kubota. Thanks again for a great video!
Awesome! Glad I could help! It’s worth the wait! It’s still my favorite grapple! Thanks for the kind words and comments! Enjoy that grapple, it can handle anything you throw at it!
Was wondering about the 3rd function. Is it wort considering. I could use my rear remote for the third function and route hoses to the front. What are your thoughts and what third function kit would you recommend if you think I need it.
@@alexreis8397 It's worth it to me. I the Summit Hydraulics valve kit on myself. You could certainly get by using the rear remote but having those open/close buttons on the loader joystick is very handy!
Great Video, I believe you made my mind up for the AE66 Grapple. Thank you. This was the most Informative view of two Grapples and AE came out on top. Thank you
Thnx for a great video! You gave a clear, to the point evaluation of both grapples. Another great video. I really enjoy your bumper music. My Grapple is my favorite attachment. I agree that tight closure is a key point to consider. Pulling small stuff is definitely an issue if your grapple doesn’t close tightly. My grapple is made of chineseium steel. Im sure I will need to replace in a year or two. Will definitely look at the EA to replace it. Thanks again for a great video.
Thank you for the kind words! I’ve learned that I definitely prefer the clamshell for those reasons. Hey if it works, then it works - I try to buy USA when I can but sometimes the economics and logistics just don’t work out. Not to mention availability. That said, I definitely recommend the EA grapples!
Nice job on the video and showing how to clear your property, Ive been clearing land off and on for over 45 years I like your style. Bending a tree to twist the stump up can be dangerous like the gentleman stated previously, but I think when you have run your equipment enough to get the FEEL of it, then I believe you can feel the amount of force on the tree you're applying and sense its breaking point using some good old fashioned common sense. Definitely advising all to be careful and aware. Death can approach from out of anywhere, such as pulling vines and knocking the top out of a dead tree etc. so always look your area over well for widow makers, etc. before you begin, along with other hazards. I just subscribed also, I have a new 73 hp Cabbed Power Shuttle Kioti on the way as we speak. A semi retirement present to myself, lol. Planning on putting in a few cattle myself. Again nice job on everything, good luck on your channel and God bless you and your family.
Sometimes we have to use what we have and make it work lol. But yes you are correct. When operate equipment and machinery you get a feel for it and in many ways becomes second nature. But accidents can still happen. Just have to be as careful as possible but still get work done. The dead trees are the ones to look out for. They don’t call them widow-makers for no reason.
Thanks for this comparison. I’m about ready to order the EA grapple but was having second thoughts. Could not decide between the clamshell and the long bottom. You answered questions I didn’t know I had. I’m going to order the Wicked 66.
Thanks for the video, I have been going back and forth trying to figure out what I wanted. I have bought some other items from EA. I think I am going with them.
I own a Wicked 60 of the same vintage as your 66, mounted on a Kubota L48. I agree with your assessment of the EA grapple, though it is the only grapple I have used. I also agree with the grease fittings you pointed out on the top cylinder pivots. I can’t really see any grease getting to the pressure point of the hinge. Thanks for the well done review. Doug
I have a EA 66 long bottom that I bought new 10yrs ago for my Kubota L3200 before they really expanded the lineup. I couldn’t have made a better choice, it now lives in my New Holland LS180 skid steer and we all know that’ll put more stress on it then the L3200 ever could. Only money I have put in it over the years is grease😂
Nice! One day I will have a skid steer also and I plan to use the EA on it as well! I’m confident I tweak my loader before anything gives on the grapple. But I hope that doesn’t happen! 😂
First time viewer. Came upon this video while looking for grapple comparison info. 10 minutes into the video I'm still trying to I.D. your tractor to see just what size it is. It looks bigger that the 75 h.p. Massey 461 that I have.
You make a heck of a video, and your review seems to be well-thought out and pretty comprehensive. It'd be cool if a Baumalight rep would see the quality of your work and hook you up with an MP348. You could attack those tree lines, and be left with nothing needing stacked and burned. subbed.
Man, thanks for the kind words - I appreciate that! I’m still learning the whole process. It’s hard to take hours of video and condense it down into 15-20 minutes. I’ll take a look into the MP348.
Ted from Everything Attachments has a brother who also has an attachment company known as Construction Attachments. They make attachments for heavier tractors than compact. Tim in northern TN
I am aware of CA but never thought of trying them for the tractor so thanks for the reminder! This grapple is perfect for this tractor. I’ve found that with a heavier/bigger tractor weight is still important.
@@CliffsideStables The Wicked 66 would be great for it. You might even be able to step down one notch to 60 but Travis could definitely point you to the proper grapple. I'm done with hay for the year so it's about time to do some more clearing and cleanup and I can't wait to get the grapple on.
That would be my only improvement. Even though that’s still not a deal breaker. I’m thinking of getting a long bottom dual lid, then I’ll have the best of both worlds for any scenario.
I'm pretty new to tractors, but I've looked at a lot of grapples, and ended up with a Homestead Pinnacle Root Grapple. It's clearly beautifully constructed. But if it was stolen, I might replace it with an EA Attachements Wicked. They do seem to be the most wicked grapples available. I will say though, my Homestead is doing just fine (I can't push over trees with my 25 hp tractor, but can still pick up hella brush)
I did look at the Homesteads also. There was a few videos where a guy had bent one up. That happens - but from what I’ve read they use any excuse they can not to have to honor their warranty. Hopefully you never have to test the warranty. Should work out with the 25hp tractor.
I just got my first tractor -a Kubota L3902. Nowhere near as beastly as yours! I have 10 acres that need to be cleaned up after Hurricane Ida and I’ve been looking at different grapples. I think you have convinced me that the EA wicked is the way to go! I’m wondering if the 66” would be too much for the L3902, or would the 54” be better ? I’m leaning towards the 54 mostly because of the weight issue
Nice! Congrats on the new tractor. I would definitely get with Travis over at EA, he’ll know exactly what the best option is for your machine. I bet the 54” would be just about perfect! It’s a bit of wait time to be built but it’s worth it!
@@arrowjmfarmsI still need to add the 3rd function kit (I was too stupid and didn’t do it when I purchased the 3902) so there is time to wait for the wicked 55. Any recommendations for the 3rd function kit? I’m probably going to go with the Kubota OEM kit, but not positive yet
@@Indo1030 I don't have any experience with the Kubota OEM, that might be good for warranty reasons if nothing else. I installed the Summit Hydraulics kit on mine and it has been rock solid. It's a good product for the price! I've seen good reviews on the WR Long kit as well.
Really depends on the tree/stump, size, and how many roots are left. I have uprooted some trees and stumps with it. It’s definitely not the best tool for the job but works OK for small stuff.
I’ve always kind of wanted that. If this grapple had a double lid option I would have got that. That being said, it has really performed great even being a single lid and hasn’t been a big issue like you’d think. It really depends on what the primary task is. They do have a dual lid long bottom grapple but I prefer the shorter rake teeth this grapple has.
Nice to see a grapple on a fullsize tractor for once instead of compact tractors was debating on getting one cause i never seen one on anything over 40 hp. Want it for my 4707 mf ,that wicked 66 grapple looks up to the task and then some
I felt the same way. There just wasn’t many vids out there with a utility sized tractor. Most of the tougher grapples are designed for skid steers and are pretty heavy. I’m really happy with the EA 66” on this tractor!
I love the content of your video. Brush clearing and brush control was once the source of my livelihood. However, about 2 minutes or so into this video, you pushed over a substantially sized tree, then you pushed on the tree from the side while the stump was still rather securely still in the ground. As you pushed on the tree, I could see the tension and potential recoil building. If the top had broken out of that tree, the results could have been catastrophic. No ROPS on any tractor could protect you from the resulting impact. You are much too young and have too much to live for to be taking chances like that. Please, exercise caution, enjoy life, and live it to the fullest. Keep up the good work, and keep the quality content coming. God bless you.
Titan IMPLEMENTS is now IronCraft - mostly domestic manufactured. Titan attachments is mostly China imports built to a price point. There was always confusion. Thanks for video

It can be hard on it for sure! Just depends on what you’re doing. So far mine has held up and I do things I shouldn’t lol. The worst thing to do is trying to dig up trees and stumps. Pushing brush and briars doesn’t put much stress on it. It plows through them pretty easy. And making brush piles shouldn’t cause any issues either. Sometimes you just have to take it slow and remember it’s not a bulldozer - easier said than done haha.
