I got my first Little Lime last year and, I absolutely LOVE it! I love colour and hesitated to buy this because, well, no big pops of colour, but dang! It really adds so much in my yard. I just received my order of Little Lime Punch. Can’t wait to see what those do this year. Zone 3/4 Canadian prairies.
I love hydrangeas’s.. thanks for sharing that. I have a question. What happens if you don’t cut the hydrangea down in the spring? Will the stems be stronger and not fall over when it rains?
Hiya, Kelly! Thanks for all the wonderful information you give on hydrangeas. I purchased a dwarf limelight today, my yard has clay soil. The lady who sold me the shrub said “ it is best that I use a soil conditioner.” So my question for you is, do you think it’s best to use the soil conditioner, how much should I use and at what point do I add it to the soil, is it before or after putting the plant in the ground, or do I mix it with the back fill…? The bag I purchased is huge so how much soil conditioner should I use…? She told me “half the bag.” The bag is about the same size as the biggest bag of miracle grow I would say about a 20lb bag. Any information you give will be greatly appreciated. As I am new to this whole planting life and your expertise has helped me tremendously and I thank you so much. Your garden is lovely♥️
How attractive are the plants in the winter? All my hydrangeas are in containers that I move from the patio to winter protect them. If I plant in the ground, I would like that they are somewhat attractive in winter.
Thank you for this great video. We went to a garden centre today and almost picked up a limelight for a tiny shrub space. Now knowing that little lime could be a better option, is it possible to trim it to keep it down to a 3 feet by 3 feet plant? Also, does it blossom twice like the limelight? We are in Toronto, ON.
Hi Alma , you are very welcome . No , I do not sell the live plants . Here is a link to Proven Winners where you can buy them direct and have them ship to you if your local garden centers do not carry them . Happy planting 🌸🌸😊
You could but be careful to make allowances for how large the limelight hydrangea will grow ( up to 20feet) since it will eventually cast shade on the little lime hydrangea in a few years if planted too close . Good luck 👍
Hi! I’m late to the video, but I just moved to Texas. I’ve learned that there is really high pH Alkaline soil here; is that ok for hydrangeas? Also, you talked about the cold hardiness… how heat-tolerant is the little lime? We can have up to 2 months with over 100 degrees everyday, so I’m wondering if I should plant in shade just for that factor.

Hi Christina , yes your hydrangea instincts are correct . I don’t prune most of my hydrangeas and they are awesome each year 🌸🌸

Hi Mary, love the Emerald Isle 🍀🌸🙏🌎
@@KellyLehman Thanks. I am a transplanted New Yorker, here 25 years and loving life in Ireland!
Oh my goodness that’s so cool 😎. I lived in Dublin “ Upper Drumcondra” for six months during a college student exchange . Great Crack 🌸🌸💃💃🍀🍀🍀
Can I plant little lime alongside limelight tree?
You could but be careful to make allowances for how large the limelight hydrangea will grow ( up to 20feet) since it will eventually cast shade on the little lime hydrangea in a few years if planted too close . Good luck 👍
Does it have to be in full sun like yours?
I'm from Wichita, Kansas.

Your plant will want afternoon shade in those temps
Can I keep this in a container all year long? I live in upstate New York. Just bought one of these today.
Rule of thumb for anything in pots is 2 hardiness zones LOWER than where you garden
Do little limes do well in clay?
Yes..I have clay BUT I ammend it with pine bark soil conditioner and all my plants are fine
