Now Portugal is definitely one of the World Cup Contenders, cause Spain won Euro in 2008 and won World cup in 2010.So Portugal can also do it.
I am an American, we are in a Tough group. Cristiano Ronaldo is good enough to get his team out of the Group Stage by himself, LOL. Personally, I think he will shine this World Cup. The Swedes saw what he can do under pressure. Americas back line scares me, the whole L. Donovan issue pales in comparison to whether our defenders can stop Portugal, Germany and Ghana. T. Howard is solid, but the Defenders need to be on their A game. If America gets out of this group, Klinsmann is a genius.
German attackers are pretty efficient. If they go through your defense, you're screwed.
Hate the way people pronounce Portugal. It's Port-u-gal, not Porch-ugal. There is no "ch" sound in the damn name.

I think this is gonna be a exciting world cup folks. I am hyped up already 3 more days I can't wait!! The way I look at it anyone can be hot in world cups. Anything can happen. Teams like Portugal and USA are looked at as the underdog teams and the Portuguese also can't joke around with USA. Look back at world cup "2002 South Korea USA beat Portugal 3-2 if you remember that. What I am trying to say is anyone can get hot and 1 mistake can cost you a game. Good Luck Portugal..

Portugal was better than Greece in the Euro 2004 and we still lost so screw them. Right now, I'm more afraid we may face France if we pass the Group phase in second (likely). We always lose against France in official tournaments, regardless if we have a better team or not.

Im Portuguese and i saw this coming from a mile away. If you just followed our group stages youd see this coming too.
It was a joke vs Germany, we were crap against USA that can't play football to save their lives, yet we allow them to attack for most the game and even get 2 goals, and its going to be the same vs Ghana, another miserable display.
Most of that team doesn't even run to get a ball. Its too hot? its hot for everyone, not just them.
This team of ours is the worst we have had in the last 20 years, EASY. Plus our coach, that should have been sacked like 6 months after he took the job.I mean seriously WHO THE FUCK thinks Rui Patricio, the goalkeeper, is the best Portugal has? Hugo Almeida on the starting eleven? all this while, during this "reign" of his, we been losing world class players like Ricardo Carvalho and others, who just resigned from the national side due to this mans poor choice, and decision making.
Carvalho is now replaced by Pepe, that gets on the field, headbutts Muller, and gets sent off. Very good.

That's the unlucky part about these teams IMO. Portugal, Argentina, Brazil..... Football is a sport of 11players . So I think a whole great team is more important than a "one man team". Without great team work it is impossible to be a successful team specially in big tournaments like FIFA World Cup !
