The Dutch have a solid team with a great philosophy. I'm Colombian and I watched the friendly played against my team a few months ago, it was no wonder the Netherlands come in as one of the favorites to take the WC, great defence, solid midfield, and good players like Van Persie and Robben who are a constant scoring threat. I really hope to see great football in this group, tough matches lie ahead. A great school and philosophy of football that's fun to see. Good luck Netherlands!

4 jaar geleden was ik absoluut verzuurd en gunde ik de Nederlanders niets. Noem het gerust jaloezie omdat wij (Belgen) niet geplaatst waren voor het WK. Om de 1 of andere reden heeft onze plaatsing dit jaar een heel ander gevoel losgeweekt. Vele Belgen, inclusief ik, hopen dat Nederland het goed doet zodat we elkaar misschien wel tegen komen. Zou zo mooi zijn! In ieder geval veel succes toegewenst!
To me, Netherlands is one of the best teams in this 2014 WC. They played really well and tactically amazing. I love their way of playing so much.

The Netherlands were really good in every game but not the final. Even though the final vs Spain was the worst game they've played in the World Cup, they were still the better team.

Robben and co. did amazing to get us to the finals. Then he single-handedly made us lose the final. The amount of clear goal chances he had wasted was just painful.
It's very unlikely the same era of players will reach to the finals again. It's going to take some time of rebuilding till Netherlands are strong and powerful again. It was our time in 2010 but I have my fingers crossed.
Well, first off, if you read again I said "Robben and Co" meaning Robben, Sneijder and rest of the team did well to get us to the final. I said Robben single handedly made us LOSE the final with all his missed clear 1-on-1 against Spain.. .
Robben started late in the 3rd game of group stages due to injury but thats it. Came on every game to be a crucial help by scoring or assisitng in every match... obviously Sneijder was the main man for Holland, but thats not the point of my comment.
We have a good chance in 2018. But its a little too far away to know for sure.
I really want this team to advance to quarter finals at least...they are like the underdogs that I really want to see win..but its going be tough against Spain for sure.
thnx for the support but this tournament comes to early, in 8 years we have a far better chance. There is are great number of talanted players in an age of 17-22 years, a few of them will be world class when they have more experience. now we only have robben and van persie... sneijder has his best days behind him.

Robben, Persie, Blind, Depay and the rest of the squad did a great job and deserved to be in third place. The Dutch team of 2014 easily ties with their 98' counterpart in terms of quality. Great job Holland, hopefully you guys will lift the cup in 2018, they deserve it. Btw, i'm not even Dutch!

In 2010 we are very lucky. Sneijder, van Bommel and Robben play the CL final. Van der Wiel, Stekelenburg, de Zeeuw became champion in the Netherlands with Ajax. Van Bronckhorst, Huntelaar and Kuyt were in form with Feyenoord, AC Milan and Liverpool. De Jong playes very good with City at that moment. Only van Persie didn't plays his best season.
In 2014..
Van Bronckhorst and Van Bommel didn't play football any more. Only van Persie and Robben are in the top of football. I think it was not good that Sneijder was going to play for Galatasaray. He's not so good as in 2010. Kuyt and de Jong are not so good anymore. The defenders have never played against world players. They play with Ajax and Feyenoord not in the top of football.
I think, with this young players, we will win the EC in France in 2016.
But in 2014. Spain, Brazil, Germany, France, Argentina are to good for us..

Holland does have a very proud history in football in the world cup and Euros. Holland is a tiny country with a small population. 5 Time semi-finalist in the world cup.

I think their group will go down to goal differential for 1-2. In that case, Holland scores more goals and could avoid a knockout match with Brazil, forcing Spain to go into that bracket. All they need to do is draw vs. Spain, so Spain better win or they go home against Brazil a week and a half later.
