I recently purchased the Donald Pliner Men's Davis Calf Oxford, and I am thoroughly impressed. The quality of the leather is outstanding-it's supple yet sturdy, with a rich finish that exudes sophistication. The attention to detail in the craftsmanship is clear, from the clean stitching to the polished look of the shoe. They fit comfortably right out of the box, with no break-in period needed, which is rare for dress shoes. The insole offers great support, making them comfortable for all-day wear. Plus, they are versatile enough to pair with anything from a suit to more casual attire. These shoes are a perfect blend of style and comfort, and I’ve received plenty of compliments every time I wear them.
The Donald Pliner Men's Davis Calf Oxford has a sleek design, but unfortunately, it didn’t meet my expectations. The fit was narrower than anticipated, causing discomfort, especially around the toe area, even though I ordered my usual size. After a few wears, I also noticed that the leather started to show signs of wear, with noticeable creases and scuffs that were hard to buff out. For the price, I expected a higher level of durability. Additionally, the soles seem to wear down quicker than I’d like, which raises concerns about their longevity. While they look great initially, the comfort and durability issues make them less appealing for regular use.
