    If there are specific questions you may have about the Stromer ST3, or if there's something you'd like reviewed just ask in the comments. Thanks!

      He, thanks for the review :) I got a phone holder delivered with the st3 but I have no idea how to set this up ....It should be placed on the stam. Sorry for writing mistakes as english is not my first language.

      @@dominiqueaneca While I had not yet installed the phone holder, I went back and did it so I'd be able to answer your question. The good news is it's quite simple. I will create a video overview in the next couple of days but in the meantime I'll explain. Step 1: Use a toothpick or plastic, pointed device to remove the rubber cover centered on the ST3 stem (it says "Stromer" on it and at first glance doesn't look removable. It is, but be careful of not scratching the surrounding parts of the stem. Once removed you'll see a threaded hole. Step 2: Take the round metal mount (with flat head screw) and attach it to the stem using that threaded hole. IMPORTANT: The raised splines/lines on the mount need to be oriented vertically, inline with the stem itself. Once mounted, the hard part is done. Now take the other part of the mount that attaches to your phone (or phone case). IMPORTANT: Wipe down the phone surface or case surface using the supplied alcohol wipe prior to installing the phone-side mount. Step 3: Once clean, remove the 3M plastic from material on the phone mount piece and install it oriented in line with the phone/case. In other words, the longer dimension of the piece should align with the longer dimension of the phone. Push it on hard!. Once mounted, you are set! Step 4: You will attach you phone to the ST3 by placing it SIDEWAYS, then rotating it clockwise 45 degrees to lock. Hope that helps and thanks for your question!

    The first thing that should be discussed on all the EBIKE videos is speed.
    I test drove this bike and immediately reached 32 mph with more left in the tank.
    The component's are unbelievable especially the electronic shifting.
    Very solid and smooth riding.
    Agility was less that desired but still the best one I've tested so far.
    I opted for a M1 Sporttechnik Evolution R Pedelec because I don't want to be limited to 30 MPH.

      Good on the speed thing although the top pedal-assisted speed for all Class 3 eBikes is 28mph, including the Stromer ST3. I've had my speedometer read high before (29-30 while traveling at 28mph) and one can certainly push it beyond 28mph going downhill (my fastest has been an indicated 39mph). This bike does not have Di2 electronic shifting, only the ST2 S (discontinued) and the ST5 (its replacement).

    Problem I have with the ST2 is the ride is so harsh I have to re calibrate the torque sensor in the omni quite regularly. I can feel the power loss if I do not. Did they fix that on the ST3? Also you were worried that 26 inch wheels would become obsolete. Do you think they will stop making tires and inner tubes in the near future? I have owned 5 different ebikes. The technology is upgrading so fast that you will probably own a different Ebike in 4 years so that would not have been your problem IMO. Also the rack is awful. Every pannier bags I put on the back of my foot strikes the bags while peddling. The ST3 looks like the same geometry as the ST2...I do not have size 13"s either. Any normal foot size person would experience foot strikes. I love the speed and silent ride of the bike and have no regrets buying it...just my gripes.

      Hey there, the torque sensor has been recalibrated only once in 1200 miles but I will keep a close eye on that moving forward. What is the symptom? Loss of power? Regarding the tires I do believe they will begin to phase out tires and tubes in 26" size but not in the near future. If you try and find good mountain bike tires in 26" these days it's tough but no impossible. I do agree that I will likely have a different bike in 3-4 years regardless. Technology is evolving quickly!

      @@nvanpraag I feel the power loss mostly going up steep hills. I pull over and reset the sensor and the power returns. May be unique to my bike. Happens when I go over very bumpy roads. I asked Stromer about it and they said it only happens when you fall but that is not the case with mine. Probably a 10 to 20% reduction in power.

    How are you liking the ride quality?
    I think you will really enjoy if you add a suspension seatpost like BodyFloat.

    • @nvanpraag
      @nvanpraag  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Ravindra, the ride is a bit harsh especially at speed. However I am used to a relatively stiff ride from years on my Cyclocross bike. The BodyFloat seat post is a great idea!

      I've ordered a Kinekt post. Not yet installed :)

      Kinekt seat post is now installed and it's a game changer. It should be standard equipment for this bike.

    What is the dimension of the wheel ?

    • @nvanpraag
      @nvanpraag  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      27.5inch (or 650b). Not sure the exact rim width but the tires are 2.35's. Hope this helps!

    If you still have more cash to burn, why not give riese & muller homage high speed(best with rohloff hub+belt drive+ full air suspension..) a try, you might end up with selling this one...

      A R&M cannot comfortably maintain the allowed 45km/h top speed. The Bosch motor is underpowered for such a heavy bike.

    • @jervanheg
      @jervanheg 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      and besides, you'd need to be blind to love the aesthetics on that one (personal opinion)

    • @softbingan
      @softbingan 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      With the 2020 bosch high speed performance line, cyclists get more power from the motor once it passes the speed of 20mph, so to help them reach the top speed 28mph and keep it easily.
