    A review without riding the bike makes no sense, yes the build quality isn't the best but then your not paying For a KTM or a Yamaha this bike is like half the cost and for what it is it does it well. This bikes a beast and to be honest each bike is individual one bike might have issues another Last a long time. I have countless of friends who have spent ridiculous amounts on repairs etc on their KTMs etc

    After riding one of these for a full season and 130 miles last summer, I can say that you are right about the aesthetics of the welds, the chunky rear brake, and some cheap hardware. However, This thing has not failed me once out in the hills. It is dependable, light and flickable on the trails, and with some inexpensive upgrades (like all dirtbikes), is one of the funnest and cheapest ways to enjoy an ENTRY level electric bike. I believe in these and do upgrade them myself. So much so that I purchased 10 of them to start my own EV powersports business. Yes, spares are readily available. The problem is that people want these to be more than they are. They are a trail bike, an entry level EV bike, and a great way to hone your riding skill in quite without pissing off your neighbors. They have their flaws, but so do Surrons, Talarias, and every other EV bike.

      @@SRNAR8 You mean what exactly? Batteries and controllers? They're readily available if you know what you're doing. The battery upgrades for all of the Surrons were done in a shop in NJ before they were mainstream. I've upgraded the controller on my test Timemoto bike and it's got twice the juice of a stock one. And I didn't spend $3000 to do it. Suspension upgrades are available with springs and cartridges, rear shocks are upgradeable, and brakes from a KTM will bolt up as well as front forks, bars, and throttle, all can be bought and integrated. What exactly can't be purchased aftermarket for these?

      @SRNAR8 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Who posts a half arsed guess without riding it. Really? The specs alone indicate that it's not a motocross bike. Shorter wheelbase and lower seat height is a plus for many, particularly newbs. Time will tell if these are a robust bike. They may be the ticket for the average trail rider. Quality is my major concern. Too early to tell. But it looks perfect for the majority. Who cares that the gears are 4 up? Not meant to compete on super-x tracks. Weak gearbox? Unproven guess at best. To be honest, how many can ride a mx bike pinned over quads(?) Not a reality(or want) for most. When posting an opinion, at least have a broader perspective.

    It is a cool concept but for 5k I can build one that is much more powerful and reliable. The idea of a gearbox is appealing but it needs to be robust enough to handle being ripped on a track. This is like a pitbike blown up with an electric power plant in it. I almost think a Sur Ron xx with some upgraded body panels would be more sturdy. For a mere 1600 extra dollars you could buy a Kayo K6r petrol machine that will handle being beat down on an MX track and do it with some relative ease and compliance. The new Sur Ron Storm Bee is 1.5 times the price but is a proper machine for Enduro and light MX use. Just saying if you are serious about MX riding this is not the way to go if you are simply stunting it in a parking lot you might get 6 months out of it; then again a controller and battery upgrade in a Razor would be more confidence inspiring lol! Thanks for the close up and the detailed break down.

  • @mikeloeser6239

    Interesting review. You should understand it's not a ktm high end mx bike. It is a Chinese pit bike that's electric. Right now there is nothing made by good mx manufacturers that are electric. Your only options are Talaria and surron. I have this bike and the surron. Haven't ridden the surron in months. Unless you change out the surron controller and battery, you will get dusted by the time and people are spending $2k for that upgrade. Top speed of the surron is 30mph if you don't weigh 50 lbs. As to quality - I had to get new forks for the surron after 6 months, new brakes and new handlebars. Forks are $1000 for anything decent. Seat is made for 10 year old girls. It's full on wedgies for an adult.. The time doesn't need any of that and costs the same. My 13 year old rides the surron and the bike is still too small for him. People spend money switching out tires on the surron as they aren't able to handle anything loose. The talaria runs wider rears, but only 1/2 inch wider. The surron is great to kind of avoid cops and maybe ride where the time would get you in trouble.
    I'd love to buy an Alta for $5k, that'd be a much better bike, but Alta is bankrupt and 5 year old used ones sell for $12k around here. Until Ktm, yamaha or Honda start selling electrics, time is your best option. It should of happened years ago. Till then we are stuck with Chinese bikes.
    Surron isn't the same category of bike as this and likely much more expensive with all the things needed to upgrade. I'd be happy to hear which electric dirt bike you think is better. However right now there isn't one.

    Thanks for the review and I expect this bike to be lower quality but you pointed out some specific things that make me hesitate. Still, there is one on Craigslist here in Eureka California for 1200 bucks that has 500 miles on it so it's kind of tempting. Miles are like kilometers only longer. Anyway I'm concerned about having another broken thing lying around but for the price it might be really fun for the upcoming season. One side note I have to say is that having the having the rear suspension offset is not necessarily a design flaw, that's how my KTM is set up, it looks a little weird but I don't think there's any reason it is problematic.

    @WildStyleWorks 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

    thank you, to be honest, your telling many things that are to expect when you buy a bike for only 3500€. And why should a pitbike gearbox be bad? I mean i dont like first gear down too, but why shouldnt it hold up? The way the gears are arranged does not say anything about the sturdyness of the system, ok the welds are really not good that is something im gonna claim at the manufacturer too, but i know they will hold up, and thoose few that are bad, dont matter at all. I am welder and construction worker, so i know what is needed to hold up 😜 And spare parts are no problem, i got a whole list with numbers and prices from the seller to rebuy all needed spare parts including the battery. And yes it feels a bit cluncky to ride, but hey, its not a KTM or simmilar, thats for sure!!! It costs one third of that, so what are you thinking? The back swingarm, you wanted to tell something but you forgot in the video to mention it again. Yes it is shorter then standart and it is strange, but when i checked it and took a look how it works, i have to say it is geniusly made. To put a smaller shock in by lengthenig the travel way is not a bad idea, this way you can safe weight and money and still got good results. In my opinion you overdid it a bit in the video, also the size of the bike was a reason for me to buy it, since i am only 1,70m high and this bike has the perfect hight for me 😊 aslo i still hope the chinese are developing the next models and reconsider many problems they had with this first model to upgrade them on newer versions of the bikes. 😁 but non the less its your opinion and i respekt it. but the main problems with the bike you didnt even mention, like the alarm system and the throttle control. i will make a real reviw with honest fakts and try to tell all the real problems i got with mine. and for the money, its not bad!

      This isn’t even the first time we have made contact with this bike , riding it makes things even worse - the battery sags from 90v to 50v on full throttle and it skips or misses gears often .
      This bike wasn’t exactly damaged either just needed a throttle replacing (poor quality parts again)
      We don’t need to own a bike to review it . Good luck if your planning to buy one and ride it . Remember where we are when it breaks - which is only a matter of time 🤣👍

What concerned me the most was the quality of the welds - on mine where the rear suspension connected to the frame, the spot weld was only about 3mm thick from the bracket to the frame. Also not really an issue with the bike but the thing was MASSIVE. Also the battery was poor... i believe the cells used inside to be mega cheap

      @@T-Sav thats interesting. i've heard some people have issues with the gears, one guy said you have to be fully off the throttle to change then they work fine. Was your battery degrading quickly or just didn't last as long as expected?

    Who cares about the gear pattern. Pit bikes that are 4 up are made for adults. Nothing wrong with that. If the pattern is the issue that’s a dumb point or dumb reason to not put faith in it. I bet any money you won’t be able to break the transmission 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️

      Show me anything built by a proper company with neutral all the way down … like a Yamaha , Honda or KTM … pit bikes are cheap Chinese rubbish and if your an adult riding one that’s pretty much my point exactly and you would probably love this bike 😂😂😂
