And gave them some info about NW. This was her favorite song. And this song belongs to her. I like very much that Gabriel have continue Ann s work.... so her heritage is still here.
Amy was very enthusiastic about NW...and when I first discovered Nightwish, she was the first person to reply to my post. I am probably older than most....although I do know of some NW fans in their 70's! I am 65 and ever since I was 8 years old, I was listening, covertly, to Jimi Hendrix, The Doors, Ozzy Osbourne and Black Sabbath, then Led Zeppelin came along! I still listen to them! Nightwish is just better than them all! What Tuomas does with his music is pure genius!

Thank you for your reactions! And you're right---- I'm 74 going on 34 and have watched the Wacken DVD concert so many times it's embarrassing. It's more than a joy to watch, but I also have that creeping feeling of envy toward everyone who was there. I look at those young faces and understand the bliss they feel, but will always wish I had been among them. Nightwish changed my life -- mostly for the good! And I have never had the privilege of seeing them live. Keep up the good work my friend.
Bloodstock is a lot smaller than Wacken, roughly 20,000 compared to Wackens 82,000. Nightwish actually headlined Bloodstock actually in 2018 by the way. I think 7 Days to the Wolves would be a good shout for your next Nightwish reaction 🤘

Song of Myself is a special one. Soft, low vocals in the beginning, then all of a sudden Floor lights the afterburners and in a split second is in a full powerful chest belt with a touch of distortion. The line "sometimes the sky is piano black" gets me every time. Spine-tingling. And of course that ending. Totally out of subject, but you must react to songs of Epica. Since you started reacting to Attack on Titan anime, I'd recommend Crimson Bow and Arrow from their Attack on Titan EP. Listening to and watching Nightwish live is a transcendental experience. I had never heard of Nightwish or Floor until around 6 months ago after I was nagged in to listening to them by a work colleague and I eventuly did so just to shut him up not expecting to like them.... I listened to "The Poet and the Pendulum" live from Wacken 2013 and OMG I was blown away and have been ever since having not surfaced from the Nightwish rabbit hole busily absorbing everything from the wonderful Tarja and Annette eras and now the incomparable Floor. I love watching reactors react to this phenomenal band wanting them to feel the joy and exhilaration that fills me each and every time that I watch and listen to them preferably live. Yes, Bloodstock. Nightwish 2018 live at Bloodstock! Actually, the Download Festival at Donnington is more of the equivalent in the UK. Hard to find new superlatives my friend. I agree. Jukka was ALWAYS incredible!!! Floor and Marko - Vocals of contrasting styles but in harmony . Tuomas is a genius and not just composing, arranging and lyrics but, for a long time, the settings on his keyboard - especially for the classic piano sound - were and probably still are the best I've heard - even down to the key resistance/pressure needed from watching him play! It's one of my favourite Nightwish songs! You talked about Marco and Floor harmonizing - for the most part they're not harmonizing, they're singing in unison, which is even more amazing. It's hard to sing the same thing when you have two people singing. It's easier when you have a choir. But they sound so good together! I don't know how they can do it, but they... they can! You NEED the lyrics with Tuomas, he mentions other songs, making many cryptic references for us to dig into! Covington Woods, for instance, an isolated village forbidden to leave, on pain of death, then someone does escape. Tearing up is an honest response to the wall of complexity in their music and the intuitive use of minor notes. However, Floor has access to those tones in a deeply compassionate way. Tones of a caring woman with some ethereal aspects of strength sprinkled in. She shares love in those tones that really feels sincere, she pours herself out into the audience and it’s a gift to everyone within range.

This song is so epic!🤯 I love it. The studio version with Anette is also good. At some point, please, watch the Nightwish movie. It is called Imaginaerium (not sure how it's written). The movie is really good but it's a shame that many people don't know about it. Also I recommend for you to watch more End of an Era with Tarja. Slaying the Dreamer is a really good song. Jukka was amazing on drums, Kai is an amazing drummer too. Weak fantasy shows more of Kai's drumming and ofcourse the band Winter Suns.

Under no circumstances miss "Ghost River" from the 2013 Wacken Concert. A dark Song about the fight between the dark and the light...one of the Highlites with Marco as Singer, absolutely awesome!
Song of Myself is a special one. Soft, low vocals in the beginning, then all of a sudden Floor lights the afterburners and in a split second is in a full powerful chest belt with a touch of distortion. The line "sometimes the sky is piano black" gets me every time. Spine-tingling. And of course that ending. I'm trying to think what to recommend next because I can't remember everything you've reacted to 😂. I'll stick it in a reply or edit this comment once I've had a look. Great reaction mate.

Tuomas (keyboard) is the man - soul and creator that makes Nightwish so awesome! His aggression, pain, feelings. He creates everything in Nightwish. He can create exceptional art pieces for any artist and bring out the best in him! They rock me every time!!!They have been my inspiration for years! He is the soul and the mind. And together they all make a miracle! But I think Tuomas is the irreplaceable one in the group!

at some point you'll come to the conclusion that anytime someone asks you what your favorite Nightwish song is, the proper reply is "Nightwish" (there is no song called Nightwish, btw). i say this because every time i go back and listen to any NW tracks i automatically ask myself "is THIS actually my favorite NW song?"
Totally out of subject, but you must react to songs of Epica. Since you started reacting to Attack on Titan anime, I'd recommend Crimson Bow and Arrow from their Attack on Titan EP. Then maybe Kingdom of Heaven PT 3, from Omega Alive or maybe Sancta Terra feat Floor Jansen (Retrospect live). You won't regret it.

I'm an old guy that discovered Nightwish 3+ years ago. That event absolutely stunned me, and I have yet to recover. I now own 5 Nightwish DVD/Blu-ray concert films and I find myself cycling through these constantly---not to mention listening on my MP3 player. I see your list of Nightwish reactions is strong. Listening to and watching Nightwish live is a transcendental experience. I had never heard of Nightwish or Floor until around 6 months ago after I was nagged in to listening to them by a work colleague and I eventuly did so just to shut him up not expecting to like them.... I listened to "The Poet and the Pendulum" live from Wacken 2013 and OMG I was blown away and have been ever since having not surfaced from the Nightwish rabbit hole busily absorbing everything from the wonderful Tarja and Annette eras and now the incomparable Floor. I love watching reactors react to this phenomenal band wanting them to feel the joy and exhilaration that fills me each and every time that I watch and listen to them preferably live. Yes, Bloodstock. Nightwish 2018 live at Bloodstock! Actually, the Download Festival at Donnington is more of the equivalent in the UK. Hard to find new superlatives my friend. I agree. Valkyrie, goddess, Amazonian queen, super heroine. Both feminine and badass all in one amazing package. They bring the waterworks to all of us! The combination of Tuomas' emotional soundscapes with Floor's beautiful voice bringing these songs to life right in front of our eyes. We are literally living the Dream. Tuomas' Dream of Nightwish!

Jukka was ALWAYS incredible!!! Floor and Marko - Vocals of contrasting styles but in harmony . Tuomas is a genius and not just composing, arranging and lyrics but, for a long time, the settings on his keyboard - especially for the classic piano sound - were and probably still are the best I've heard - even down to the key resistance/pressure needed from watching him play! I'd like to know how he does that!..... "What Ann Said" - This was one of her favourites if not the no. 1!

I would recommend Dead Boys Poem on their 2018 Buenos Aires concert - very powerful and versatile song that is almost like a few songs in one.
It's one of my favourite Nightwish songs! You talked about Marco and Floor harmonizing - for the most part they're not harmonizing, they're singing in unison, which is even more amazing. It's hard to sing the same thing when you have two people singing. It's easier when you have a choir. But they sound so good together! I don't know how they can do it, but they... they can! It's just the magic of Nightwish!🙂

However, Floor has access to those tones in a deeply compassionate way. Tones of a caring woman with some ethereal aspects of strength sprinkled in.

At some point, please, watch the Nightwish movie. It is called Imaginaerium (not sure how it's written). The movie is really good but it's a shame that many people don't know about it.
Also I recommend for you to watch more End of an Era with Tarja. Slaying the Dreamer is a really good song. That is one of those songs that I just can't think of it with any other singer(though Floor does a really good job).
