Hello from Finland and it truly is a good fay. Or morning in my case since I watch this 7.20AM, but hand on... WTT is BST time? British summer time or what? I know UTC and CET but rest of those don't come up so often. At least in my gaming history. There we use mostly UTC time.for instance 00.00-UTC is 03.00 in Finnish time in summer's and 04.00 in winter. Now thx for the blunch you have taken with us to NW and many other female fronted bamds so far. There is still hope for humanity if we stop listening Maroon5's, and those cheesy AGT/American Idol contest winners "music". And start listening good sounding music and moreover good metal song's also. With powerful female/male singer's and talented band member's with them. Those concerts are actually worth every penny that those tickets cost.

I saw Nightwish live in April in the States and it was LITERALLY one of the greatest nights of my life. I felt like I didn't deserve to be in the presence of Floor, but at the same time, the togetherness and "one-ness" of the crowd and band was mind blowing.

This song has a special place in my heart !!! Not just because wolf is Estonian national animal but the windmill battle between Tuomas and Floor .... Plus, Floor's inner Wolf Howl !!! holy mother of Odin !!! I have seen this song Live in my home country Estonia, all though it was without Marko (Marko left the band, but now we have a new Bass Player Jukka "Gentle Giant" Koskinen), but Troy really steps up and harmonizes with Floor like never before. Still getting goosebumps, even if I write in here. And Floor being unreal, it is true!I have experienced this personally and this experience was out of this world !!!!! And that Emppu solo... He just teases you with that (just look at that grin he is making). The title is taken from a King's novel called “Wolves of the Calla”. But the conception of the book has nothing to do with the text behind the song, it is far more inspired by the film "Dead Poets' Society". The main idea is - one must live his life the best he can, to strive for his aims, because the wolves are always 7 days behind you and they will catch you if your life is not of full value... and then you will be only dead meat. I got to see them in LA this May. Went by myself (drove from Vegas). Met a nice couple from the area who were NW veterans (10+ shows). When Floor came out at the start I turned to them and yelled ‘She’s real’! I know exactly how you feel when you say she seems like a vision or a dream. The best 2 hours of my life. Can’t think of any experience I’ve had previous to that night that even remotely comes close.

Aha, my Number 3. Building energy and a silent howl in one of Floor's personal favourites. On the setlist since the album was released, in every tour except dodecanese. If you watch Buenos Aires it's not just security handing out water - Tuomas throws bottles to the audience from onstage. Try Devil and the Deep Dark Ocean (my joint 4 with Dead Boy's Poem) from Buenos Aires to hear more of Marco showing what he can do with Floor as co-lead. For something rarely reacted to, The Carpenter from Buenos Aires, Troy singing the first verse, then Floor. Well worth it.
This is my touchstone song, chosen by my wife for me, because I am always expecting the wolves right now and she reminds me we've got a week so there's no point being stressed and miserable all week, we might as well live life right now. After discovering NW in Aug of 2022, I saw them live in Denver, May 2023. It didn’t seem real they it was actually right there, 30’ away. I was mesmerized the entire show. Had to kick myself to applaud and express appreciation after reach song. Was in a trace the entire time.

Great reaction my friend & since you asked, there's a great and very intimate introduction to Floor if you're interested in some personal context to both her solo and NW performances. It shows the down to earth & human side of our Valkyrie Goddess and might cure some of your Floor fright, haha! It's 15min and English subbed, so you can hear her natural native speaking voice in Dutch, which is really interesting in its own right. She talks abt her years at the Rock Academy and what she was looking for as a developing songster. Even more interesting is that some of the interviews were done on site right before/after Nightwish's legendary Tampere concert in 2015. There are the heartfelt words by Tuomas who said abt Floor: "She's right at home with us, doing this". Floor's parents were present in the audience and were interviewed as well. Floor also talks about the severe burn-out she suffered in 2011. I saw them perform this song back in 2012 during Anette's time with the band. We didn't have the video screen and complex lighting, but it was still a fantastic time. I don't know if this has ever been confirmed, but when "Dark Passion Play" was first released, the general consensus was that this song was about a Stephen King novel, part of the Dark Tower saga called "Wolves of the Calla." In it, the main characters defend a town from "The Wolves" who turn out to be robots that look like Doctor Doom, carry lightsabers from Star Wars, and throw snitches from Harry Potter. Yeah . . .
Nice reaction. I love this song and yes Floor harmonizes great with Marko. They are even better together in the Islander from Tampere 2015. But, that said, Marko's best vocals for me are on Master Passion Greed. He's incredible in that one. The whole song is awesome, build up from pure rage. My favorite angry song🤘🏽

Lols, at 8.28 of the video you looked like you're feeling sick from your stomach or something. If I had to guess you were thinking just then the following "Why I wasn't there back then?" Or option 2: "How have I missed this all along?". And it's true, if I were in your shoes, find this band then hear that Marco retired from NW duty(for time being at least) ,but has done some collabs with many bands in last few months. I'd be sad too. Because now I wouldn't never ever heat how great they sounded in RL at a venue singing these songs. I have to admit I'm nervous as hell to find out how NW sounds in live setting and in person. Ofc I've heard the video's from concerts without Marco(However Hellfest had very poor mix, or whoever was recording that had their mic way too far away from the stage), but it's very different experience to hear this band play Ghost Love Score only 18-30 meters away from you. In RL concert you really hear all the little violin or cello sound hits, choirs, environmental sounds, all that. It really does pull you in and once it's over you might find yourself afterwards looking like an awestruck zombie, not registering any outside sounds or touches. I know I had heard so ,Amy voices for almost 2hrs that it took whole week to recover from that show. I was at Tampere in 2015, also at Baltic Princess NW cruise in same year. But my very first ever NW concert was in small club in Helsinki (Finland's capital city) back in 1997 or -98. Can't remember the actual year apparently but I do remember the feeling I had. So I hope that you'll see them live in front of you at past once before Tuomas wants to retire. Remember he's not in his 20's anymore. He's older than me. By 3 years almost. I was born in April-79, he was in December-76.
floor and marko = best duo. I was hoping for the new bassist in nightwish to sing aswell but it seems like he doesnt. I think Floor is singing Markos parts aswell nowadays. But there is a few songs that must sound empty without him. Alot of songs wont work without a second singer..

It's 15min and English subbed, so you can hear her natural native speaking voice in Dutch, which is really interesting in its own right. She talks abt her years at the Rock Academy and what she was looking for as a developing songster.
Even more interesting is that some of the interviews were done on site right before/after Nightwish's legendary Tampere concert in 2015. There are the heartfelt words by Tuomas who said abt Floor: "She's right at home with us, doing this".

I saw them perform this song back in 2012 during Anette's time with the band. We didn't have the video screen and complex lighting, but it was still a fantastic time.
I don't know if this has ever been confirmed, but when "Dark Passion Play" was first released, the general consensus was that this song was about a Stephen King novel, part of the Dark Tower saga called "Wolves of the Calla." In it, the main characters defend a town from "The Wolves" who turn out to be robots that look like Doctor Doom, carry lightsabers from Star Wars, and throw snitches from Harry Potter. Yeah . . .

But, that said, Marko's best vocals for me are on Master Passion Greed. He's incredible in that one. The whole song is awesome, build up from pure rage. My favorite angry song🤘🏽

If I had to guess you were thinking just then the following "Why I wasn't there back then?" Or option 2: "How have I missed this all along?".
And it's true, if I were in your shoes, find this band then hear that Marco retired from NW duty(for time being at least) ,but has done some collabs with many bands in last few months. I'd be sad too. Because now I wouldn't never ever heat how great they sounded in RL at a venue singing these songs.
I have to admit I'm nervous as hell to find out how NW sounds in live setting and in person. Ofc I've heard the video's from concerts without Marco(However Hellfest had very poor mix, or whoever was recording that had their mic way too far away from the stage), but it's very different experience to hear this band play Ghost Love Score only 18-30 meters away from you.
In RL concert you really hear all the little violin or cello sound hits, choirs, environmental sounds, all that. It really does pull you in and once it's over you might find yourself afterwards looking like an awestruck zombie, not registering any outside sounds or touches.
I know I had heard so ,Amy voices for almost 2hrs that it took whole week to recover from that show. I was at Tampere in 2015, also at Baltic Princess NW cruise in same year. But my very first ever NW concert was in small club in Helsinki (Finland's capital city) back in 1997 or -98. Can't remember the actual year apparently but I do remember the feeling I had. So I hope that you'll see them live in front of you at past once before Tuomas wants to retire. Remember he's not in his 20's anymore. He's older than me. By 3 years almost. I was born in April-79, he was in December-76.
