Sabaton's drummer had your very same reaction when they were touring together with nightwish, but he went to the next level and said to himself "I gotta marry this woman", and so he did. On a side note, I've watched the whole reaction waiting a "holy ****, is that Floor growling when marco sings?" moment. Also, If you can, try to pay more attention to Marko's voice, I love Floor, she saved my favorite band, but Marko is a beast himself and should be acknowledged. They were great together, along with troy's backing vocals. I miss them.
Wasn't that because Hannes found Floor drank whisky, smoked cigars and liked Pantera?

You clearly get why we love Nightwish and the work that Floor does. I only heard of them in 2019 and could not believe how quickly they installed themselves in my brain as my favourite band of all time! For the last couple of years one of my hobbies has been watching TH-cam reactions by vocal coaches to Nightwish.
I think the ENTIRE NIGHTWISH ARMY has the same hobby! Hell, it made getting through the damned pandemic a *whole lot* easier!
I will definitely be watching some opera singers and vocal coaches react too!

The guy at the guitar is Emppu, he's the funbag and a great guy. His guitar solos are always on point, never to less but always never over the top. He knows exactly how much a son needs without destroying it.

Great reaction! For sure you need to check out ReVamp - "Disdain" for more of Floor's growls, as you didn't notice it here because of Marco's higher vocals, it is harder to notice it for the first time (you are not the first to not notice it, don't worry) 😉

I love your enthusiasm. I also grew up with metal, but only discovered Nightwish recently, but they are now my favourite band. I also agree about the variety of music they do: lighter "folky" styles to full on metal. Something for everyone!
Never beat yourself up for not knowing about something - I've been listening to metal since the 70s and I only discovered Nightwish a few years ago when my son was playing in an orchestra with a rock band and they did a Nightwish cover which was my favourite bit of the concert. You just need a bit of luck, so enjoy the fact that you've found them now!
Oh, and do try Sabaton, particularly if you have any interest in history. The official music video for Christmas Truce was my intro to them, and it makes me cry every time. If you react to it, make sure you watch all the way to the end of the credits (you'll find out why).

Man you just scratched the surface of the rabbit hole, keep enjoying it. Gabriel's list is as always a good companion for the road. If you want to expand on the northern Europe's bands you can check "Biskarck", "82nd all the way" and "Christmast Truce (with a little easter egg in the end)" all from Sabaton. Also "82nd all the way" cover and "Helix" from Amaranthe. "Sancta Terra" and "Consign to oblivion" from Epica. "The day the world breaks down", "Everybody dies", "Valley of the queens" and "The eye of Ra" to mention a few from Ayreon. The list goes on and on... just to please us all. Love your enthusiasm. By the way, you missed that Floor is doing all those low growls in every chorus. It is so startling that I had to watch it twice to catch that she was the one doing that. You nailed the fact that Nightwish are the best live performers ever. The bass player is Marko and he has a great voice as well. Floor is the most versatile singer out there. She is actually also a vocal coach but doesn't have much time for that now. Even though she knows so much about singing she works on her technique constantly. Floor is a vocal BEAST. Basically when you sing make you vocal cords vibrate and you direct the air past them without straining them, the vowels you form with your mouth shape the sound as well and your facial muscles can influence where the sound and air goes in a manner of speaking. Floor has the most control, she trained all her muscles in her entire body to direct the air and sound exactly where she wants it to go. She is a master of her trade
Enjoying the ride!!! Another great reaction! Yes, this was on the Nightwish Cruise. Sabaton also did a Sabaton Cruise - Floor is married to Sabaton's drummer, Hannes Van Dahl. Also, the Wembley or Mexico City vids of this same song - the audio is much clearer to hear Floor's death growls through the choruses. Maybe next try Devil and the Deep Dark Ocean or Slaying the Dreamer - both from their Buenos Aires live show. And definitely go to Song of Myself from the Wacken 2013 show. There are just too many great songs to suggest only one haha! Forgive me for that! You'll get through many in time. I'm here for any you choose next. Floor is the ultimate beast and most elegant and mesmerizing singer in music history. I'm 73 and have seen tons of female singers in my life.
Don't worry about missing the growling parts of Floor. It's absolutely natural because of this specific recording. Check out the Wembley stadium version if you want to hear it clearly. In my opinion it's the best performance of this song. Greetings from Nightwish army Greece department 🤘🇬🇷
As another commenter already stated, Nightwish is indeed coming to the UK this year. (London on November 21 and Birmingham on November 22) . I checked on their website, and tickets are available for both shows. I am seeing them in Chicago next month. Unfortunately, Marco will not be with them on this tour as he withdrew from the band a little over a year ago.

Floor's talent is training, or as she put it: "For me, singing is like breathing and I have to sing every day." Her daughter has already complained about it ;-) Then there are the innate 3.5 octaves and a clear voice.

Floor is married to the drummer of Sabaton Hannes Van Dahl . they sing about history of true war stories , there song (the Christmas Truce) is a video that took two years to make and pay attention to the voice at the end over the credits . Nightwish are untouchable live, they are always powerful when needed but can pull it back to the lightest of gentle parts, You missed the fact that Marco is singing the chorus and Floor Growls half of it with such a sinister edge to her voice, they have the most varied catalogue of any band I know, with the odd look back over the shoulder to their past, just to remind you they have always been fantastic.
Epica are well worth watching, as are Sabaton (Floor is married to the drummer PizzaBat, I mean Hannes)

Yes, Nightwish is touring in the UK this years : Nov 21st : London ; SSE Arena and Nov 2Nd : Birmingham ; Resort World Arena. I myself hve my ticket (since October 2019, thanks COVID) for their show in Paris.

Check out the group Amaranthe - official video of the song Amaranthine - The female singer Elize Ryde sung for Nightwish in 2012 in Denver when their then singer Annette was in the hospital, as it turned out, the next day they announced Annette was out of the band and Floor would be the new singer at their next show.
