This song belongs to Ann Wachoff, mother of the Nightwish Army. It was her favourite song. So, Rest in Peace Ann.😭 This song will remember us for ever ........❤
Favorite song of the late Ann Waychoff, Mother of the Nightwish Army. Inspired by the 52 chapter ,19th century poem of the same name by Walt Whitman. The studio version, at the end, has a spoken poem section, written by Tuomas in an ode to the original. The word to that are the words you see on the big screen behind the band. Song #14 of 15 at Wacken, right after Ghost Love Score. An Anette era song from the Imaginaerum album, which this tour was for. Dead Boy's Poem is the other song you are thinking of.
R.I.P Ann Waychoff mother of the Nightwish Army. June 28th, 2020 . Ann was a big Nightwish Fan. And every new person who listened to NW, she went through a little chat. And gave them some info about NW. This was her favorite song. And this song belongs to her. I like very much that Gabriel have continue Ann s work.... so her heritage is still here.
Still my favourite Nightwish song, so many years after first hearing it. Marko and Floor totally killing it. And Jukka driving it all along. Fantastic.
RIP Ann Waychoff - mother of the Nightwish Army. My personal favorite from the Wacken show -Dark, mysterious, crunchy, and Floor summons fire! You are spot on about Tuomas’s lyrics. “Sometimes the within is piano black”. You can deep dive into this one and have something very different than someone else. I hope Dead Boys Poem, (mentioned in this song) from Buenos Aires is coming soon. (Floor’s costume is even better there.). Think you both will love that one. A bit of a tear-jerker, one of Tuomas’s most personal compositions. Love you two together, and the channel. Keep exploring Nightwish!
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do "Dark Chest of Wonders" next. It's the same concert, but the show opener. Most in the crowd had never seen Floor before as the lead singer. This makes the performance a very special one. It is fire!
Imaginaerum is a concept album and Song of Myself comes at the end, so it IS referencing earlier songs - "she dreams of story time (Storytime) and the river ghosts (Ghost River), of mermaids (Turn Loose the Mermaids), of Whitman's and the ride (Last Ride of the Day), raving harlequins and gigantic toys (Scaretale)." Plus the recurring self-referential "dead boy" reference...
Epicness right there on that stage. Marco and Floors voices together and the trademark Nightwish layers and transitions. Musical perfection. R. I. P. Ann. ♥️
They have magical healing powers! :) Seriously though, it brings out emotions you didn't know you had. Grown men reduced to tears. At Wacken, there was a banner saying "Thank you Tuomas for the emotions!"
My number 2. Superb. Best description of depression: "Sometimes the within is piano black" There's something about the gloss black of a piano... I saw your face at Marco's glissando entry. So good it's my ringtone so I can hear it every day. No e, 7 Days to the Wolves from Wembley...
You were correct to pick up on references to other songs. The Imaginarium album was written as a story. Storytime was the 2nd song from the album and sets the tone for the rest of the album. Song of Myself is the final or conclusion of the story. The concert was part of the Imaginarium tour. The name of the DVD for this video is Showtime Storytime.
An interviewer once asked Tuomas the meaning of a song. His reply was "It means whatever you need it to". This is the magic of Nightwish. The songs touch each of us in different ways, but the meaning always seems to be very personal, as if they were written for you.
R.I.P. Dear Ann Waychoff (june 28 2020) This song is dedicated to her, because she was the mother of all NW fans and she loved this song. After she passed away, Gabriel Bardac took over the torch and he is doing a great job too imho

This song included in the 'Imaginaerum'.. 'Imaginaerum' is a Fantasy Movie Album (Film), very special album.. That's why you heard another song title in a song, fully circle album..

A very different Nightwish song: 'Kiss while your lips are still red' live in Londen. The bassist as the lead singer, Floor the backing singer. It's surprising, more recent, in another venue and I think you will like it a lot. Either way good reaction. Have fun.
To think this was after ghost love score on this set list. All the energy they put into ghost love score to go straight into this one. Then last ride of the day for the closer after this one. Can't wait to see that reaction.
This song is for You Ann (mother of Nightwish Army) R.I.P 🤘😔🤘 Your flame and passion lives on in Us 🤘🔥🤘. Ann Waychoff was known by many as the Nightwish Mom. She would give comments to people who reacted to Nightwish videos to try and help the reactors understand and she would tirelessly exchange comments with people who wanted to know more. She also communicated privately with a large number of fans and reactors (we know now from the tributes.). th-cam.com/users/results?search_query=ann+waychoff will show how many knew her and how many liked her enough to spend hours making videos about her/dedicated to her. For me this song has some serious Pantera vibes 🤘🔥🤘. Pure fire and great song!!! And the Poem: I see a slow, simple youngster by a busy street, with a begging bowl in his shaking hand. Trying to smile but hurting infinitely. Nobody notices. I do, but walk by. An old man gets naked and kisses a model-doll in his attic. It’s half-light and he’s in tears. When he finally comes his eyes are cascading. I see a beaten dog in a pungent alley. He tries to bite me. All pride has left his wild drooling eyes. I wish I had my leg to spare. A mother visits her son, smiles to him through the bars. She’s never loved him more. An obese girl enters an elevator with me. All dressed up fancy, a green butterfly on her neck. Terribly sweet perfume deafens me. She’s going to dinner alone. That makes her even more beautiful. I see a model’s face on a brick wall. A statue of porcelain perfection beside a violent city kill. A city that worships flesh. The 1st thing I ever heard was a wandering man telling his story It was you, the grass under my bare feet The campfire in the dead of the night The heavenly black of sky and sea It was us Roaming the rainy roads, combing the gilded beaches Waking up to a new gallery of wonders every morn Bathing in places no-one’s seen before Shipwrecked on some matt-painted island Clad in nothing but the surf - beauty’s finest robe Beyond all mortality we are, swinging in the breath of nature In early air of the dawn of life A sight to silence the heavens I want to travel where life travels, following its permanent lead Where the air tastes like snow music Where grass smells like fresh-born Eden I would pass no man, no stranger, no tragedy or rapture I would bathe in a world of sensation Love, Goodness, and Simplicity ( While violated and imprisoned by technology ) The thought of my family’s graves was the only moment I used to experience true love That love remains infinite, as I’ll never be the man my father is How can you “just be yourself” when you don’t know who you are? Stop saying “I know how you feel” How could anyone know how another feels? Who am I to judge a priest, beggar, whore, politician, wrongdoer? I am, you are, all of them already Dear child, stop working, go play Forget every rule There’s no fear in a dream “Is there a village inside this snowflake?” a child asked me “What’s the color of our lullaby?” I’ve never been so close to truth as then I touched its silver lining Death is the winner in any war Nothing noble in dying for your religion For your country For ideology, for faith For another man, yes Paper is dead without words Ink idle without a poem All the world dead without stories Without love and disarming beauty Careless realism costs souls Ever seen the Lord smile? All the care for the world made Beautiful a sad man? Why do we still carry a device of torture around our necks? Oh, how rotten your pre-apocalypse is All you bible-black fools living over nightmare ground I see all those empty cradles and wonder If man will ever change I, too, wish to be a decent manboy but all I am Is smoke and mirrors Still given everything, may I be deserving And there forever remains that change from G to Em NWSU 🤘😎🤘.
Hi ladies, good to see you again. Hey Mom, I am digging that pendant, nice! Young Lady, I don't know if you were going for the look, but you have an awesome Morticia Adams look! Another great reaction to another great Nightwish song. Please, keep it coming!
hi momma gap and baby " mortica adams" gap i really love your reactions to nightwish cant wait for your next one from gabraels list, just keep em coming and we will turn up
Oh ladies … we have a long way to go … you ain’t seen nothing yet .. The Decades live album, Endless Forms most Beautiful, Live at Wembley and Tempere… and the newest album Human:Nature ….Wacken is the concert to compare all others too… they are amazing and Floor is “The Queen of Metal”
There are several references to other tracks from the Imaginaerum album and a few others in the lyrics too, I think that is all but there may be more. "The nightingale is still locked in the cage" (Escapist) "She dreams of storytime and the river ghosts" (Storytime + Ghost River) "Of mermaids, of Whitman's and the Ride" (Turn loose the Mermaids, Song of Myself + Last ride of the day) "Raving harlequins, gigantic toys" (Scaretale) "Is the same old Dead Boy's song" (Dead boy's Poem or maybe even Poet and the Pendulum - Dead boy refers to Tuomas)
If you're in need of Nightwish content to watch on your own, but are afraid of what to see... You can watch the documentary "Please, learn the setlist in 48 hours". It will show how the band dealt with Anette Olsen's absence due to late pregnancy and Floor's journey to learn the songs in time for the following show. It's on TH-cam and whenever they speak Finnish, it's properly subbed.
HI sisters. Floor and Marco a vocal match made in heaven! Great tempo changes and rifts. Makes you want to head-bang! My favourite song too. Great reaction delving into the construction of the performance. Stay safe.
A tremendous piece of music. As I have stated on another reaction video, we sadly will not be able to hear Nightwish perform this song this way anymore. Marco leaving the band has left an incredible void in the music of Nightwish. Marco was the secret weapon of the band who made them spectacular. Floor no doubt is one of the greatest vocalists ever. No other group could match their triple theat of voice, composition and instrumentation. I know Marco had good reasons for leaving for himself and his family but he is sorely missed.
My favorite Nightwish song. Thanks for reacting to it, finally. Keep going down the rabbit hole. Nightwish never disapoints. Greetings from Danish Nightwish Army
I love everything in this song. I love the melody, I love the lyrics, I love the rhythm and I just love Jukka's drumming and his style, that double kicking 😎🥁 And I have copied his style, I love to wear bandana ❤ Drumming is heart beat of music and Jukka does that perfectly.
Yes you must React to the show opener "Dark Chest Of Wonders". Wacken was Floor's first big concert as Nightwish Frontwoman(82,000 people)and she came out smokin' hot!!! Very up-tempo song as you might expect. Gotta get that massive crowd MOVING!!!
Great reaction. I enjoy you two so much. Can't wait till Dead Boy's Poem, Poet And The Pendulum and The Greatest Show On Earth. I still recommend a little research before the last two.
I really love your Nightwish reactions! My wife calls me a Nightwish groupie and I usually limit my reaction viewing to Nightwish-related videos. But I like yours so much I'm going to peruse your channel for other reactions that might interest me. Thank you so much!
😂 love your daughters face at the end, mouth open in awe! My favourite Nightwish song! Thank you for a great reaction! Mam you need to say more, I’d like to know your thoughts! 🏴
Great reaction to a killer song. I have many different favorite Nightwish songs, depending on my mood, but this one always makes the top 10. This song also is the remembrance of Ann Waychoff, it was her favorite song.
Great reaction - they KILL on this song, just a crushing breakdown which is awesome. Regarding the costume - WAIT until you see the Buenos Aires concert before ordering your materials!!! Floor’s outfit on that tour was mind-blowingly awesome 🤘🤘
You guys are really fun to watch, also what a great relationship between mother & daughter; cant wait for the Halloween costume 🤘🐺; once you have done the list for Wacken 2013 you should stream the full live concert; its another energy booster to watch the concert in one piece. 'Song Of Myself' was the fav song of Ann Wachoff, a legend in the Nightwish Army. RIP Ann Wachoff
The band is an entity that creates with their synergy one more member and the audience who are in with full body and soul creates one more - thats a VERY big band then... 𝓜𝓾𝓼𝓽𝓪 𝓛𝓪𝓪𝓽𝓽𝓪 🐿 (In fact this could be your husbands favorite song too, if it gets you "speetchless" 😁)
Two of the best IMO for watching Floor’s stage presence are the Tampa FL performance of Sahara and the Mexico City performance of Alpenglow. In both videos they keep the cameras a lot more on Floor and the band rather than hopping around on the audience mugging for the video. And you get to really appreciate just how much of their individual personalities each band member puts into a Nightwish show.
The deeper you go into the night which catalog you will realize that everything that happens on stage and everything they do serves a purpose......Tuomas it's just completely on another level when it comes to what he does..... A reactor once said that nightwish does a lot of tension and release you were kind of calling it you know light into heavy and they do this roller coaster up and down and that's just I think it's to keep you interested and to keep you thinking........ Their music truly is like a great play or even a great movie they have to keep you interested they have to keep you wanting more and they have to make you think............ I think they've accomplished all of those.
A midnight flight into Covington Woods A princess and a panther by my side These are Territories I live for I'd still give my everything to love you more. More poetic Punch then whole Top Ten Pop Charts actual. Didnt think you dig that one, but i am happy to be at least partly wrong;) Rest Chriss did put perfectly. Stay Healthy! NWA Bavaria North
to be exact, its never a change of pace in this song, its almost never a change of pace in Nightwish songs. Usually what is perceived as a change in pace is the change in rythm ,at the same pace. For instance going half tempo, or from a 4/4 to 7/8 or whatever time change or combo , while the "speed" of the clicktrack remains the same;)
Another great video! I don’t know what’s on your current list. Do hope you check out the two Nightwish performances “The Devil and The Deep Dark Ocean” and “Elan” Both live at Buenos Aires (2018)
Phenomenal! Started with the tempo right from the start! That tempo with the guitar along with the drums was ear candy. Floor, as always, sounded incredible. Her voice grounds the totality of the whole production. The crowd is completely involved with crowd surfing no less.
One of my favourite Nightwish songs! I'm glad you did that reaction 🙂 There are so many more to discover in this one. I strongly recommend to watch that again off camera, but the full version with the wonderful poem of Tuomas at the end. Greetings from Nightwish army Greece department 🤘🇬🇷
Love your reactions. You can fangirl Jukka as much as you like, he is my all time favorite drummer too 😅 I just want to say, that you may want to use either official videos, or the ones on my channel to ensure the best possible versions. There are a lot of bad versions of this concert in YT, some are slowed down and some sound even bit like "chipmunk".
And if you really want the best possible sound and image quality, I did remastered and AI enhanced version with my friend ShaunintoN. It can be found at Remastercide channel (haven't uploaded that on my channel yet): th-cam.com/play/PLpxWcYEDYKwmEAKVjrJ8KXEWSPbI-QPtT.html
It is A Tribute to the poem in 52 chapters, One for every week of the year, " Song of myself " by Walt Whitman 1819-1892.(one of the co-founders of US poetry). The 7th line of the song is ""Of mermaids, of Whitman's and the Ride""". The extended official studio version of this song has, at the end, a poem as a tribute to Whitman made by Tuomas, the keyboard player and the mastermind of nightwish. These lines you can also see fast flahing on the ledscreen of the video you just saw. Bucle up, it goes very deep. " I see a slow, simple youngster by a busy street With a begging bowl in his shaking hand Trying to smile but hurting infinitely Nobody notices I do, but walk by An old man gets naked and kisses a model-doll in his attic It's half-light and he's in tears When he finally comes his eyes are cascading I see a beaten dog in a pungent alley He tries to bite me All pride has left his wild drooling eyes I wish I had my leg to spare A mother visits her son, Smiles to him through the bars She's never loved him more An obese girl enters an elevator with me All dressed up fancy A green butterfly on her neck Terribly sweet perfume deafens me She's going to dinner alone That makes her even more beautiful I see a model's face on a brick wall A statue of porcelain perfection beside a violent city kill A city that worships flesh The first thing I ever heard Was a wandering man telling his story It was you, the grass under my bare feet The campfire in the dead of the night The heavenly black of sky and sea It was us Roaming the rainy roads Combing the gilded beaches Waking up to a new gallery of wonders every morn Bathing in places no-one's seen before Shipwrecked on some matt-painted island Clad in nothing but the surf Beauty's finest robe Beyond all mortality we are Swinging in the breath of nature In early air of the dawn of life A sight to silence the heavens I want to travel where life travels Following its permanent lead Where the air tastes like snow music Where grass smells like fresh-born Eden I would pass no man, no stranger, no tragedy or rapture I would bathe in a world of sensation Love, Goodness, and Simplicity (While violated and imprisoned by technology) The thought of my family's graves was the only moment I used to experience true love That love remains infinite As I'll never be the man my father is How can you "just be yourself" When you don't know who you are? "
Eventually, you will know another song they reference. They mentioned The River Ghost. They play Ghost River in this show. I imagine you will get to it soon.
Fantastic reaction, ladies. Loved it. This is such an incredible performance and everything just comes together on this heavier side of Nightwish. Great energy on stage and great energy in the crowd. Thank you both for continuing these Nightwish reactions. Keep them coming.
This is what they do to us...sending us on a journey of emotions. Brilliant !! Sometimes emotions we've never felt before. Also, I really think you girls are doing the reactions correctly. Not having captions on. They take away from the immersion in the performance. Read them after or before. Whatever suits you. Much Love to You both and Ukraine 💙💛💙🌻🌻🌻
This is the next to the last song of the concert. They mention Storytime and Ghost River (that I remember off the top of my head). It also references Walt Whitman (who wrote a poem called "Song of Myself"). Ironically, when the song was recorded with Anette Olzon, I seem to remember it having a different name. When the album was rerecorded with Floor Jansen, it was renamed.
It has always been called Song of Myself but on the album it has chapters with different names, probably this is what you remember. There is no rerecorded album with Floor only live versions.
This was so good. For many of us, this is their Zenith… or one of the 30, or 40. 😊. Anyway, this is the performance that, for me, really settled me to the idea that Nightwish with Floor is the best band on the planet. There are lots of great musicians. But these folks are simply amazing.
I'm glad you're getting through the Nightwish catalogue they're so good and I love seeing the enjoyment on your faces.🤘 I think it will really impress you when you hear my request Sancta Tera featuring Floor
Great reaction! This is an intense song and one of my favorites. You mentioned the depth of Tuomas' lyrics. They are amazing, as are his compositions. The studio version of this one is followed by a lengthy and beautiful spoken word piece, some of the phrases of which are flashing on the screen behind the band in this video. Many thanks!
I knew you'd like this. Like many NW songs, every twist and turn takes you to a better place. (Jukka plays this 4/4 sounding rhythm over a 7/4 time signature and keeps if feeling natural.)
The lyrics are based on Walt Whitman's poem of the same name. In the studio version, at the end of the song, Tuomas recites some of his own poetry where he purposely imitates Whitman's style.
Tunes from the Wacken show are amazing. Wait until you visit tracks from Wembley and Tampere ‘15 and Buenos Aires ‘18 to enjoy the band evolution with Floor as the voice.
What a fun evening of entertainment y’all have provided with all your new videos. Love them all. Others in the comments have made some great suggestions for additional songs from Nightwish. I hope you can find time to do them. Thanks for being such a great team.
The next NW song will be your next favorite one, always 😍. I hope you will continue your journey and discover the 2nd unbelievable Symphonic Metal Band next to Nightwish - EPICA. Perfect one to start is EPICA feat. Floor (!) "SanctaTerra" live Retrospect. You will be blown away completly. 😉
What a great reaction 😊 I was surprised that Mom enjoyed this as much as she did. Mind you, I think she was a little enamoured with Marko when he started to sing 😂 I think it is funny to remember that the last time we heard Floor she was in an intimate setting singing Phantom of the Opera, and here she is in the next song at a festival singing a heavy metal song The next song on the list couldn't be more different than this one. "I Want My Tears Back" is a completely different vibe, Floor spends a lot of time dancing to that one 😁 You will meet Troy who is the 6th band member you haven't met yet, also you will meet Kai who is Yukka's friend and mentor. Kai took over as drummer when Yukka stopped playing Oh, and Floor's outfit is a little more 'risque' I think...
Welcome to the Nightwish Army 😝👍🇦🇺🏄♂️
This song belongs to Ann Wachoff, mother of the Nightwish Army.
It was her favourite song.
So, Rest in Peace Ann.😭
This song will remember us for ever ........❤
i LOVE this song! you only have a few more minutes of it to see. God I love this band.
For Ann, R.i.P dear, we miss you🤘❤️🤘
I like your reactions,, I'm an 72 year old grand pa I never listen to Metal but Nightwish... I can listen all day long!

RIP Ann.
This is one of the best Anette era songs, but they have not played it live since Wacken 2013.

Be prepared to get a emu overload!

Agree. Up-voye this request for Dark Chest Of Wonders. Such a phenomenal performance to start this concert..
First Wacken for Floor with Nightwish!
She is the Commander, the General, the Leader.
"Sometimes the Within is Piano Black".
So simple, so beautiful.
Toumas ❤
Floor on stage is just amazing, you can't take your eyes of her. Her stage presence is something else. ...and Tuomas is a poet, not just a writer.
Totalmente de acuerdo fui a ver a nightwish cuando vinieron a Argentina y quedas hipnotizado por su presencia

A Nightwish song a day keeps the doctor away 🤘🫶
They have magical healing powers! :)
Seriously though, it brings out emotions you didn't know you had. Grown men reduced to tears.
At Wacken, there was a banner saying "Thank you Tuomas for the emotions!"
My number 2. Superb.
Best description of depression: "Sometimes the within is piano black"
There's something about the gloss black of a piano...
I saw your face at Marco's glissando entry. So good it's my ringtone so I can hear it every day.

There's soooooo magical duet against Floor and Marko
Personnaly with the best song ever......

RIP Ann Waychoff - mother of the Nightwish Army.
This is such a powerful song, thankyou for sharing you reactions.
Yes Tuomas like to do references between songs so you are correct there, he also get a lot of inspiration from other material, often poems, authors or science.
Hope to see you very soon :)
In memory of Ann Wachoff. She was the godmother of the Nightwish reactors. Gone now for 2 1/2 years now. Always missed.

Lol....we all have a little crush on Jukka too.
A very different Nightwish song: 'Kiss while your lips are still red' live in Londen. The bassist as the lead singer, Floor the backing singer. It's surprising, more recent, in another venue and I think you will like it a lot. Either way good reaction. Have fun.
Nightwish seemingly becomes everyone's favorite after taking the journey, great reaction!

Check out the extended TH-cam video with closed caption on for his Whitmanesque poem at the end. Great reaction!!!

And the Poem:
I see a slow, simple youngster by a busy street, with a begging bowl in his shaking hand.
The 1st thing I ever heard was a wandering man telling his story
It was you, the grass under my bare feet
The campfire in the dead of the night
The heavenly black of sky and sea
It was us
Roaming the rainy roads, combing the gilded beaches
Waking up to a new gallery of wonders every morn
Bathing in places no-one’s seen before
Shipwrecked on some matt-painted island
Clad in nothing but the surf - beauty’s finest robe
Beyond all mortality we are, swinging in the breath of nature
In early air of the dawn of life
A sight to silence the heavens
I want to travel where life travels, following its permanent lead
Where the air tastes like snow music
Where grass smells like fresh-born Eden
I would pass no man, no stranger, no tragedy or rapture
I would bathe in a world of sensation
Love, Goodness, and Simplicity
( While violated and imprisoned by technology )
The thought of my family’s graves was the only moment I used to experience true love
That love remains infinite, as I’ll never be the man my father is
How can you “just be yourself” when you don’t know who you are?
Stop saying “I know how you feel”
How could anyone know how another feels?
Who am I to judge a priest, beggar, whore, politician, wrongdoer?
I am, you are, all of them already
Dear child, stop working, go play
Forget every rule
There’s no fear in a dream
“Is there a village inside this snowflake?”
a child asked me “What’s the color of our lullaby?”
I’ve never been so close to truth as then
I touched its silver lining
Death is the winner in any war
Nothing noble in dying for your religion
For your country
For ideology, for faith
For another man, yes
Paper is dead without words
Ink idle without a poem
All the world dead without stories
Without love and disarming beauty
Careless realism costs souls
Ever seen the Lord smile?
All the care for the world made Beautiful a sad man?
Why do we still carry a device of torture around our necks?
Oh, how rotten your pre-apocalypse is
All you bible-black fools living over nightmare ground
I see all those empty cradles and wonder
If man will ever change
I, too, wish to be a decent manboy but all I am
Is smoke and mirrors
Still given everything, may I be deserving
And there forever remains that change from G to Em
NWSU 🤘😎🤘.
Hi ladies, good to see you again. Hey Mom, I am digging that pendant, nice! Young Lady, I don't know if you were going for the look, but you have an awesome Morticia Adams look! Another great reaction to another great Nightwish song. Please, keep it coming!
Rest in peace, Ann... It's one my favorite songs too 🤗
.. Can't wait for your reactions at the"Floor🌷 list ", bring the tissues.
hi momma gap and baby " mortica adams" gap i really love your reactions to nightwish cant wait for your next one from gabraels list, just keep em coming and we will turn up
Absolute Epicness @ 9:35 and i love Floors smile @ 9:45
RIP ANN 🙏
Oh ladies … we have a long way to go … you ain’t seen nothing yet .. The Decades live album, Endless Forms most Beautiful, Live at Wembley and Tempere… and the newest album Human:Nature ….Wacken is the concert to compare all others too… they are amazing and Floor is “The Queen of Metal”
Mother of the Nightwish Army Ann Whychoff's favorite song!!!
There are several references to other tracks from the Imaginaerum album and a few others in the lyrics too, I think that is all but there may be more.
"The nightingale is still locked in the cage" (Escapist)
"She dreams of storytime and the river ghosts" (Storytime + Ghost River)
"Of mermaids, of Whitman's and the Ride" (Turn loose the Mermaids, Song of Myself + Last ride of the day)
"Raving harlequins, gigantic toys" (Scaretale)
"Is the same old Dead Boy's song" (Dead boy's Poem or maybe even Poet and the Pendulum - Dead boy refers to Tuomas)
My favorite Nightwish song. Was awesome to see you guys get your metal faces on. Lol
Again 2 very happy ladies ! Roll on to the next 🤘🎸🤘
Amazing ❤❤❤❤ thank you🤩
HI sisters. Floor and Marco a vocal match made in heaven! Great tempo changes and rifts. Makes you want to head-bang! My favourite song too. Great reaction delving into the construction of the performance. Stay safe.
Thank you so much!
Hey you beautiful people,
Nice to hear you again with Nightwish reactions!
My favorite Nightwish song. Thanks for reacting to it, finally. Keep going down the rabbit hole. Nightwish never disapoints. Greetings from Danish Nightwish Army
You guys are great. I think you're ready for Dead Boys Poem, use the Buenos Aires show. Bring tissues, you'll need em.
The Nightwish rabbit hole with Floor is deep but the Floor Jansen rabbit hole is unbelievably deep it’s going to be a long journey enjoy!
The second half of this song just gets me headbanging every time 😍
😂 love your daughters face at the end, mouth open in awe!
𝓜𝓾𝓼𝓽𝓪 𝓛𝓪𝓪𝓽𝓽𝓪 🐿
(In fact this could be your husbands favorite song too, if it gets you "speetchless" 😁)
My favourite shapeshifter 🤩🤗
Always love hearing your thoughts ladies very enjoyable Thank you.
A midnight flight into Covington Woods
A princess and a panther by my side
These are Territories I live for
I'd still give my everything to love you more.
More poetic Punch then whole Top Ten Pop Charts actual.
Didnt think you dig that one, but i am happy to be at least partly wrong;)
Rest Chriss did put perfectly.
Stay Healthy!
NWA Bavaria North
One of my favorites!!!!
Masterpiece 🔥🤘❤️🇫🇮
I love love this song, my favorite song from Nightwish! Thank you! 🤘🏻
to be exact, its never a change of pace in this song, its almost never a change of pace in Nightwish songs.
Do hope you check out the two Nightwish performances
“The Devil and The Deep Dark Ocean” and
“Elan”
Both live at Buenos Aires (2018)
Phenomenal! Started with the tempo right from the start! That tempo with the guitar along with the drums was ear candy. Floor, as always, sounded incredible. Her voice grounds the totality of the whole production. The crowd is completely involved with crowd surfing no less.
Thank you, was waiting for this one, so glad your mom loves it too, i am same age as her...
One of my favourite Nightwish songs! I'm glad you did that reaction 🙂
There are so many more to discover in this one.
Hey beautyfull ladies. All the band is unic. They never miss a single note. Greettings from Argentina
" I see a slow, simple youngster by a busy street
With a begging bowl in his shaking hand
Trying to smile but hurting infinitely
Nobody notices
I do, but walk by
An old man gets naked and kisses a model-doll in his attic
It's half-light and he's in tears
When he finally comes his eyes are cascading
I see a beaten dog in a pungent alley
He tries to bite me
All pride has left his wild drooling eyes
I wish I had my leg to spare
A mother visits her son,
Smiles to him through the bars
She's never loved him more
An obese girl enters an elevator with me
All dressed up fancy
A green butterfly on her neck
Terribly sweet perfume deafens me
She's going to dinner alone
That makes her even more beautiful

Eventually, you will know another song they reference. They mentioned The River Ghost. They play Ghost River in this show. I imagine you will get to it soon.
This video was my first introduction to Nightwish and I fell in love with them.
It s still my favorite
Fantastic reaction, ladies. Loved it. This is such an incredible performance and everything just comes together on this heavier side of Nightwish. Great energy on stage and great energy in the crowd. Thank you both for continuing these Nightwish reactions. Keep them coming.
This is what they do to us...sending us on a journey of emotions. Brilliant !! Sometimes emotions we've never felt before.
Also, I really think you girls are doing the reactions correctly. Not having captions on. They take away from the immersion in the performance.
Read them after or before. Whatever suits you.
Much Love to You both and Ukraine
💙💛💙🌻🌻🌻
This is the next to the last song of the concert. They mention Storytime and Ghost River (that I remember off the top of my head). It also references Walt Whitman (who wrote a poem called "Song of Myself"). Ironically, when the song was recorded with Anette Olzon, I seem to remember it having a different name. When the album was rerecorded with Floor Jansen, it was renamed.
It has always been called Song of Myself but on the album it has chapters with different names, probably this is what you remember. There is no rerecorded album with Floor only live versions.
Was overjoyed to see you with this one. It is and will always be my favorite NW song. That breakdown is just vicious.
Check out the closing number at this concert, last ride, marko goes real loud
This was so good. For many of us, this is their Zenith… or one of the 30, or 40. 😊. Anyway, this is the performance that, for me, really settled me to the idea that Nightwish with Floor is the best band on the planet. There are lots of great musicians. But these folks are simply amazing.
Yes levels above everyone else 🙏👍😊♥️
I'm glad you're getting through the Nightwish catalogue they're so good and I love seeing the enjoyment on your faces.🤘
I think it will really impress you when you hear my request Sancta Tera featuring Floor
m.th-cam.com/video/cx22Yuj2nzg/w-d-xo.html
I concur.
Oh hell yeah! I would pay to see you in Floor's outfit. If for Halloween, maybe a nice pointy witch's hat as an accessory?
Thank you! This is my favorite.. and seven days to the wolves and.... actually they are all my favorite.🤣
Great choice, it's one of their better songs!
The second part specially, with the slower tempo and dark heavy sound, it's really amazing
Song 14 at that concert, right after Ghost Love Score. One more to go Last Ride of the Day.
The lyrics are based on Walt Whitman's poem of the same name. In the studio version, at the end of the song, Tuomas recites some of his own poetry where he purposely imitates Whitman's style.
Friends and family (including Troy before he was in the band) recite the poem. It's beautiful.
@@richardgoddard37 Beautiful yet heartbreaking
One of my favorite Nightwish song.
What a great reaction 😊
I was surprised that Mom enjoyed this as much as she did. Mind you, I think she was a little enamoured with Marko when he started to sing 😂
I think it is funny to remember that the last time we heard Floor she was in an intimate setting singing Phantom of the Opera, and here she is in the next song at a festival singing a heavy metal song
The next song on the list couldn't be more different than this one. "I Want My Tears Back" is a completely different vibe, Floor spends a lot of time dancing to that one 😁
You will meet Troy who is the 6th band member you haven't met yet, also you will meet Kai who is Yukka's friend and mentor. Kai took over as drummer when Yukka stopped playing
Oh, and Floor's outfit is a little more 'risque' I think...
Ladies, on the next heavy Nightwish reaction, I'm expecting hair whips from both of you.
they write epic music pieces and its such a seemless and beautiful blend of hearing finnish metal and the living orchestra that they are
